Do it.

Pros: Inexpensive & overclock friendly CPU. I'm able to o/c it to 2.8Ghz without increasing voltage and it runs at about 30c at idle and 39c under load with a Kingwin revolution 9225 cooler.
Cons: The one I have seems to max at 2.86Ghz, with a volt increase. Anything higher and it will not post or simply freezes upon post. I'm happy with just 2.8Ghz and no volt increase. For a dual core less than $40 though, you cant beat that.
Overall Review: Needed to manually set memory voltage to 2.1V to gain stability. The memory is rated for 2.2V at 1066, but runs at 940 with the CPU at 2.8Ghz.
Nice board, but no successor.

Pros: Has a nice set of the latest features & technology. Very stable with lots of overclock options. Like being able to save bios profiles and reload them, nice touch.
Cons: SATA RAID is noticeably slower on this board than on my old Asus M3A78. No great leap in performance over my old motherboard.
Overall Review: I wanted to upgrade to a new board & memory hoping to invigorate my systems performance, but instead it turned out to be a $300 cosmetic change. What is with technology these days? In the late 90's, 3 years was like a quantum leap. How can my almost 3 yr old motherboard & DDR2 800mhz memory best the performance of the latest motherboard & DDR3 1800mhz memory? Seriously disappointing. Features are not worth upgrading for, and performance actually suffered in the HDD department, I'll stick with my warhorse for now. Should have researched more before buying.
Its ok...

Pros: I purchased two sets of these and not one would work at the advertised speed & timings without a .1v boost. O/C'd easily to 1800 with the boost and didn't get too warm, but only with loose timings of 9-9-9-28. At which point the speed is kind of pointless on an AMD system.
Cons: WEI 7.5. Same as my 3 yr old DDR2 800mhz on an identical system, with the exception of the motherboard (DDR3 board Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3. DDR2 Board Asus M3A78.) DDR3 is performance sham. About the ONLY advantage is less voltage, but is it worth spending nearly $200 for 8gbs? Only you can answer that question. For me, its NO. Noticed virtually 0 difference in games and everyday applications. Charged restocking fee for ram that does not function at advertised specs.
Overall Review: I wouldn't bother unless you're building a new system. I'll stick to my DDR2 and "obsolete" motherboard, it seems to still match or exceed "latest" technology.
Really wanted it to work...

Pros: This card has a nice set of features that would have been nice to take advantage of.
Cons: I could not fresh install Win7 64bit in RAID 0 using this card, even with the latest SI driver (and bios) for Win7 64bit. Win7 simply doesn't see the drive, even if I ignore driver certification. The only way it will see the drives under 64bit is if I install the 32bit drivers, in which case Win7 BSOD's on every start up after installing files. Safe mode, command prompt, etc modes will not work either. However, it does work in 64bit as an add on card, Win7 even takes the new drivers without a problem. Perhaps more of a Win7 problem, but this card persists with other issues... Under Win7 32bit it will work (as advertised on the box,) but performance is less than with on board RAID under identical conditions, almost 20mb/s slower on avg. I gave up and decided to go with on board for a fresh install of Win 7 64bit. Ironic how I chose a RAID card for Win7 in hopes of avoiding hassles RAIDing an older chipset in Win7 (SB700), but the install went without a hitch. Cont...
Overall Review: And didn't even require additional drivers. My SB850 install wasn't even this trouble free. I was also relieved to see that performance is much better with the on board (avg 167mb/s, little slower than in XP32bit though..) I still give the card 4 stars, because obviously it does work as Syba advertises (Win 7 32bit only) and it CAN work under 64bit, just not as the primary disk. If it worked for what I needed it, would have been a 5 star easily.
You get what you pay for, now buy it!

Pros: I don't know how, but my DL speeds have markedly improved over on board. I don't know if its possible that the on board sucked this bad or that this card is that good, but my d/l speeds seem to have increased almost 50%. It must be this card or my on board was always gimped. Either way, this card runs great!
Cons: None, not even price. The cost is chump change compared to how much time it will save you when d/l'ing or xfering files on your network.
Workhorse

Pros: Drive speed was fast for its time, but still decent. Overall my experience with the drive has been great, no problems whatsoever in over a year of hard use. Now its been moved over to backup status where I hope it will continue to serve me well.
Cons: Can be a bit noisy, but not a huge problem.
Overall Review: Recently ordered a 2nd drive and its amazing it survived the lackluster packaging & rough shipping process through UPS.
