Great service with some minor caveats

Ooma OOMA Core VoIP Phone System
Ooma OOMA Core VoIP Phone System

Pros: ooma is quality equipment. You can easily tell this by the nice box and packaging it comes in to the base and scout units. No cheap junk here. So yes, you pay a high cost up front but at least you're getting decent equipment. Easy-to-read manual. Really--no translation needed. It offers easy to understand instructions along with diagrams so you can properly install the device without second guessing. I wish all manuals were this easy to read. Unlike magicJack, you don't have to have your PC on to use the device, and unlike mJ, don't have to dial the area code first of a number first if it's local. The ooma Lounge offers lots of customization. You get your typical services like call-waiting, caller ID, and voicemail. But you also have some neat features like the ability to block (blacklist) telephone numbers, and even block anonymous calls that don't provide a caller ID.

Cons: ooma needs to open up their Lounge (forums) to non-subscribers so they can find out more about the service before making a purchase. This would have helped me a great deal. You can't visit the Lounge unless you purchase and then activate an ooma device. - Add additional support staff to reduce hold times. While I haven't had to use their support, if I did I wouldn't want to wait as long as what people have reported (some over an hour). - Expand International calling areas. For example, I live in Maine but ooma does not list a rate to call New Brunswick where I have some friends.

Overall Review: I decided on ooma but waited until Newegg dropped the price on it (it was $250). It took me about 10 min to set up up my ooma device. I thought the manual was very easy to understand and provided nice diagrams to aid you in installation. While it may seem dumbed down (I didn't think so), it offered very clear explanations to make installation as simple as possible. My overall rating would be 90%, or 4.5 stars.

Grounding and C1 issues

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Excellent overclocking ability Easy to adjust BIOS Superb packaging

Cons: C1 issue Grounding problems

Overall Review: This is the best packaged board I've ever had with excellent quality SATA cables and a fairly decent manual, if not for the pouch it's held in. I tried two of these boards plus another one I used to build my brother's system. C1 errors through using an E6600 and OCZ FlexXLC memory (Micron D9). Two of the boards went completely dead with nothing but a C1 error, long beep, and blamk display. I used all top quality build components including a UPS, OCZ GX 850 PSU, ATI X1900XTX, Tuniq Tower. It wouldn't even run the E6600 & OCZ memory at its stock speed (1150, 5-5-5-18) without issues. Used latest P23 BIOS with nb fan installed. This board has tremendous potential but I believe it needs both a hardware revision and several BIOS updates before it's a genuinely stable overclocker.

Works as advertised

White Standard USB Data Sync And Charging Cable With Micro USB - 2.0 A Male to Micro B (Apple Style)
White Standard USB Data Sync And Charging Cable With Micro USB - 2.0 A Male to Micro B (Apple Style)

Pros: - Works as advertised - inexpensive but quality is on par with most other USB cables I've used

Cons: - none, other than cable being only 3 feet long

Overall Review: Works fine for my LG 221C cell phone

NLight95 - minor update from post below

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 100351SR
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 100351SR

Pros: - Three passes of ASUS RealBench v1.1 stable; Score=697 - Upon further testing I have the card running stable at 1175/1525, voltage unaltered from original post/review - New Catalyst 13.8 beta drivers offer *substantially* improved CrossfireX frame rating performance - KUDOS to the Driver Team at AMD for the long hours and all their hard work!

Cons: - none, other than the new Cat 13.8 beta drivers take a small hit in performance (approx 0-3%) for single GPU cards like this one

Overall Review: Had to make some further tweaks to my system and upon doing so the 7970 now runs RealBench steady and stable. Since I'm not running CrossfireX I'm sticking with the 13.6 b2 drivers for now. You can see the great improvement for frame rating in articles at Anandtech, PC Per, HardOCP and other sites. Works great in my Toshiba C655D-S5130

Team Elite 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model TSD34096M1333C9-E
Team Elite 4GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model TSD34096M1333C9-E

Pros: - Installed easily and runs reliably in my Toshiba C655D - Excellent value - No problems running in duo with 2GB OEM Samsung DDR 1333 module

Cons: - Not really a con, but runs a little warm (certainly not hot). That's to be expected in a laptop installation where there is no active cooling and the SO-DIMMs are stacked in the socket.

Overall Review: Replaced one of the original Samsung 2GB SO-DIMMs with this Team Elite 4GB module. Immediately recognized by the Toshiba BIOS and Win7 x64. Runs without incident.

Great USB 2.0 hub for laptop expansion

SYBA CL-HUB20132 USB 2.0 4 Ports Mini Hub with Built-in Power On/Off Switch for Each Port
SYBA CL-HUB20132 USB 2.0 4 Ports Mini Hub with Built-in Power On/Off Switch for Each Port

Pros: - Automatically detected by Win7 x64 - No additional drivers needed - Can switch off each individual port if needed - Inexpensive

Cons: - None, other than maybe a longer cable (4" cable) but at this price I have no complaints whatsoever

Overall Review: Great hub for the money. Truly plug n' play. I had to RMA my desktop motherboard and use my old Toshiba laptop in its place. I had only two USB ports so this hub allowed me to hook up several additional devices like my flatbed scanner, laser printer, Sandisk Sansa, as well as an external keyboard and mouse (my productivity takes a it bug hit using a touchpad). Small enough to be put in your pocket and taken on the road.

Great. durable basic mouse pad

I now have two of these mouse pads, one I just purchased and one a few years ago. I have put my old one through the washer at least a dozen times, and the fabric never separated from the foam rubber base. Very durable. Tracks great with my Logitech G600.
