Reputable Brand and Inexpensive
Pros: There is not one derogatory comment that I could make about this DVD drive. I have used it from installing software to watching movies and it is still going strong. I was impressed with the increase of read speed, from the standard 16x to 18x. I must admit I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this unit, when I learned that JoeBot experienced a problem with one of the mounting holes not being drilled properly. I am happy to report; I did not encounter such an issue. I would recommend this particular drive to anyone.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Overall Review: Thinking about contacting Lite-on to see if I can purchase additionals belts. In time belts begin to stretch and than break.
Pros: It is a nifty little gadget with a lot of features and applications. Some applications that, I would probably never use. Yes, the chrome plating on the back does scratch easily, and yes you can easily drop it if not careful, but you can purchase a silicone casing which would prevent such an incident, and a fitted screen protector to prevent scratches to the screen. People this is an electronic device, "Handle with Care".
Cons: The HD Video recording is a joke. It is far from being 720p. Plus when used in a low light setting, there is fuzziness(noise) within the video. Don't expect to use any third party software with this device, it will not be recognized.
Overall Review: It's nice, and serves the purpose, but would I buy it again when the next generation is released? Absolutely not, too many limitations. Too ITunes Dependent.
Just An Upgrade. (Nothing Spectacular)
Pros: I'd say it is faster than Windows 10. But if you remember correctly so was Windows 10. Once Microsoft begins compiling security updates to any O/S it always ends up slowing the performance down. There is one enhancement that I enjoy, "Dark Mode". The white back ground and black letters were taking a toll on my eyes. I feel there is less eye strain looking a black page with white text.
Cons: There will be many version to Windows 11, as there are from Windows 10. Needless to say, this is not the current version of Windows 11 for the time frame in which this O/S was purchased. Microsoft still has not enhanced their Audio Control Panel to offer additional features for those that have a 7.1/ 8.1 set up. It is not like they haven't received hundreds of Feedbacks referencing this issue.
Overall Review: It's an upgrade. Pure and simple. In addition, it presents a learning curve to concur. The installation process was easy. Utilizing the disk or downloading the O/S from the Microsoft Website, and applying it to a USB Drive.
Pros: Speed, Clarity, Compatibility.
Cons: The web states that his card was released in January 14, 2022. If that were true, why are there drivers for Windows 7??? The most current NIVIDA chipset for the RTX 30 series is 3090TI.
Overall Review: The chipset manufacturing problem continues (or at least that is what we're led to believe). Why are there so many new models being released? When I reviewed this particular graphics card on NVIDIA's website for drivers and software, it was last on the list. The drivers were released during Windows 7, which I might add was an O/S that reached its EOL cycle in January 14th, 2020. In reality, this card is overpriced for what it does. The question is, was this card released at an earlier date, and the OC version was released this year? I would really like to see ASUS and/ or NVIDIA chime in on this topic.
No Coasters Made Verbatim 700 MB CD-Rs
Pros: A very reliable manufacturer and media. Have burned for decades and not one coaster. If you do, check your burner for errors. Run your drive through a series of tests, just to be sure it is running to full capacity.
Overall Review: Would recommend, no doubt!
Since ASUS GeForce RTW 3060was shipped by Newegg, it is difficult to give a fair rating of the seller. I will say this. The Speed Start manual was in Chinese. It was missing the Warranty Card, and the box did not have the tamper proof circular seals. There is not one peripheral that I have purchased in the last six years that did not have a tamper proof seal of some type.
Pros: No issue return. I was concerned of having the pay for shipping for a defective motherboard that was purchased and installed the same day the item was delivered. Contacted Asus (Manufacturer) for assistance. They were of no assistance to the problem(s). Cons: I contacted Platinum Micro via email and phone. Never heard back. The only way I found that the return was approved was by signing onto my Newegg account. A simple email verifying acknowledgement of the return would have been helpful.
