Perhaps The Best Mini Tower Available

Fractal Design Define Mini C Black Window Silent Compact MATX Mini Tower Computer Case
Fractal Design Define Mini C Black Window Silent Compact MATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: PSU Basement Great cable management Very roomy Includes a magnetic dust filter for top Moduvent. Still silent with the window Elegant minimalistic appearance Affordable

Cons: The SSD mounting bracket that goes behind the motherboard does not fit very well. The mounting holes would not align even when I tried to push the bracket in as hard as I could. I could tell the screw or hole was stripping when I was tightening. It's only a minor defect since I don't plan on removing the bracket very often.

Overall Review: Having just upgraded to the ASUS Strix 1070, I needed a new case to show off that RGB. My previous case was the original Define Mini. I was looking at the Define Nano as a potential but I didn't want to upgrade my mATX motherboard to a mITX. Luckily for me, the Define Mini C was just released. The "C" is a huge improvement over the original Define Mini. First, I noticed it was much lighter. The absence of an optical drive bay allows the "C" to be much roomier with more radiator/fan options than before. This also allows it to be shorter in depth than the original but I am still able to fit a 3-fan 1070. Side Note: When I was considering the Nano, I didn't like how close the graphics card was to the PSU (maybe a few mm of clearance). With a Mini Tower, I don't have to worry about that as there is ample clearance and airflow. The PSU basement is a nice addition and it really cleans up the cables coming out of the PSU. The blue LED power light has been toned down from the original. Thank you Fractal! Lastly, I really like the new front cover. Just like on the Nano, you now just pop it off to access the dust filter whereas before on the original Mini you would have to swing open the main panel plus the little doors to get to the dust filters (which were mounted with screws). If you're a fan of mATX and Mini Towers, this case is perfect.

Most Critical Review

Loud fan at full speed

Rosewill RD600 – Stallion Series 600-Watt Power Supply – ATX 12V V2.3, SLI & CrossFire-Ready

Pros: Price is good.

Cons: Fan runs at constant full speed. Really loud compared to my other case fans and CPU fan. Pretty sure my PSU is not overheating because the fan is at full blast from the moment I turn on my PC (when its cold). Unplugged all case fans and CPU fan to discover that it was the PSU fan that was really loud in my quiet case (Fractal Design Define Mini).

Pros: - Very quiet. - Modular Cables.

Cons: - None

Overall Review: I'm going for a quiet PC setup and this PSU works so perfectly in my Fractal Design Define Mini Case. It is many times quieter than my previous name-brand 600W PSU that this replaced. The fan on my previous name-brand PSU was louder than all my case fans and CPU fan combined. I don't stress my computer too much but I do many hours of gaming. I don't think I've heard the semi-passive fan turn on or maybe it's just that quiet. The price may seem a bit high but you will be ordering a quality product. The presentation and packaging exceeds any computer component I have bought before.

Pros: - Twin fans provide excellent cooling. I've tested the fans for about an hour in game. Kept the fans at 50% speed and the temperature remained at 61 degrees C. The sound of the fans start to become fairly audible above 50% speed so this is great for me as I'm trying to build a quiet PC. - Great performance for the money. Good for the average player looking to play new games at high settings.

Cons: - A little bit of coil whine. Becomes really noticeable when the FPS shoot up really high. Can be overcome with v-sync or a frame limiter. This is my third EVGA card (2 650 ti, and this 760). All of them made some sort of whine so I guess its a common thing. Also this 760 is on a new mobo and PSU so I don't think that's the problem. Not worth a RMA though.

Amazing Case

Fractal Design Define Mini Black Silent MATX Mini Tower Computer Case
Fractal Design Define Mini Black Silent MATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: - Minimalistic appearance. - Brushed-look front panel is really nice. - Great cable management. - Almost all black except for HDD/SSD quick release trays and PCIe brackets. - Lots of options for hard drive and fan placements. - Silent. - Fans that come with the case are pretty good.

Cons: - Flimsy drive bay covers. - Bright LED

Overall Review: Build quality is okay. The foam sound insulation for one of the "ModuVents" was glued on crooked like one of the workers was having a bad day and just slapped it on. Not worth taking off an egg but worth mentioning. Besides that fact I think this case is amazing and it's a great buy if you are looking for a silent and sleek looking PC.
