XIGMATEK Durin D982 92mm Rifle Ultra Low profile CPU Cooler
XIGMATEK Durin D982 92mm Rifle Ultra Low profile CPU Cooler

Pros: - Super low profile - Multipurpose - Comes with a good fan and adequate thermal grease - One of the cheapest in this socket&profile range

Cons: - Surface finish on base is not the highest quality - Setup requires more info/thought than the included directions contain - The bracket is attached with adhesive strips, so it is less removable than most

Overall Review: I am willing to forgive both cons based on the fact that this is a fantastic heat sink for the $28 it currently costs. Currently, it is one of the only low profile heatsinks that fits the Intel 1155 socket. I was lucky enough to have the knowhow to re-lap the surface to a mirror finish, with some care taken. As for the complaints about the mounting situation, the bottom bracket is attached to the motherboard with adhesive strips already on the bracket. Before using this semi-permanent setup, you merely have to check the back of your motherboard and see which holes line up, the directions should not be needed. As for people receiving bad parts, this is covered under newegg's fantastic standard warranty, you should have no issues getting a replacement.

Pros: - Seriously well organized little case, fantastically small for the money. - Easy to build in - With included PSU, a HTPC should be really straightforward, for a gaming box, Silverstone makes some great SFX power supplies for the higher wattages. - Front panel USB 3.0

Cons: - The space for heatsinks is fairly limited, you'd have to either skip the 5.25" drive to fit a larger one in there or find a sufficiently low profile one that works. I found the Cooler Master GeminII M4 works very well with a little tweaking by putting the fan a little off center so it doesn't jut into the case side (and allows for a 5.25" drive) - I really wish the space under the 5.25" bay could be used for additional 3.5" drives, even 2.5" SSD spots would be more helpful.

Overall Review: A joy to work in, if I have to build another small system for myself/friends/family, I will almost certainly look it up again. Internals are the exact same as: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108191 except that this has USB 3.0 on the front, which is really convenient.
