G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin PC RAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL

Pros: Nice heat radiators. Runs cool. All 24GB were recognized immediately. Easy to install. Runs at 1600MHz just as advertised. No fiddling around with voltages or anything--ran perfect right out of the package. Glad I bought it! System: Asus P6X58D, 24GB DDR3, Core i7 920

Cons: None.

Faaaast!

Intel Core i7-920 - Core i7 Bloomfield Quad-Core 2.66 GHz LGA 1366 130W Processor - BX80601920

Pros: Fast and stable! Totally suits my need for speed! Even at 130W it still idles cool with a nice CPU cooler.

Cons: None!

Power to spare!

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-850TX 850 W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V v2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Compact, well designed, lots of onboard cables. High quality and lots of power! Love it! I've got 6 fans, a MoBo, a huge CPU cooler, a DVD drive, and 4 hard drives and it can still power some more stuff, too. The included cabling is very nice and very high quality.

Cons: None!

Doesn't get any cooler than this!

COOLER MASTER V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler Compatible with Intel 1366/1155/775 and AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2
COOLER MASTER V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler Compatible with Intel 1366/1155/775 and AMD AM3/AM2+/AM2

Pros: I love this thing! I'm using it on a Core i7 920 with 24GB or DDR3 1600 onboard, and the CPU is idling at 26 degrees C! Beautiful design and it works great. It's huge, but it fits in my Antec 1200 case.

Cons: The instructions depict it being mounted upside down. Just remember that when you mount it the logo lettering should be right side up when viewed from the side with the PC upright. (Cooler Master says they're in the process of fixing the instruction manual). It will still work if you mount it upside down but then the fan inside will be pulling air the wrong way. When mounted right side up it blows air toward the rear of the case, as it should.

Overall Review: It was easy to mount, but you do need to install a bottom bracket (included) on the underside of the motherboard. Don't do this the way other people are saying (by turning your motherboard upside down. Instead, just lay the case across two card tables or chairs with a space between so that you can access the underside of the MoBo and top side simultaneously. This worked with my Antec 1200, because it has a nice opening behing the CPU area on the motherboard. I don't know that all cases permit this. Probably not.

Roomy and cool!

Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is huge and roomy case. It's beautifully and intelligently constructed and easy to use. I've got a DVD drive and 4 hard drives in it, as well as an 850w PSU and a huge V8 CPU cooler. It all fits and has a nice side panel space for cable management. It was a pleasure to build a system inside this thing! It's got 6 onboard fans with room for 2 more. My Core i7 920 is idling at 26 degrees C. Very elegant looking too, and the blue LEDs in the fans add a very nice touch. Expansion slots, drive cages galore. What more could you want?

Cons: The positioning of the side fan mount doesn't permit me to install a side fan because it interferes with my giant V8 CPU cooler. I think the fan mount should have been just a bit lower on the side to account for CPU coolers. Not a big deal though. Still plenty of fan power in this thing.

Overall Review: Why cram everything into a poorly constructed cheap case? Pay a bit more, get this giant, well made case and make things easy on yourself.

Why settle for less?

ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I love this board! Built my new system with it. It was a breeze! Terrific features, great software utilities, easy to set up and connect. I've got it loaded with 24GB DDR3 1600 RAM and a Core i7 920 and 4 hard drives, including 3 Velociraptors. Started up perfect, first try. And it's all set to go if I upgrade later to the Gulftown Core i7 980x. Plenty of USB 2 and 3 and Sata 2 and 3 and expansion capability. You can't go wrong with it!

Cons: Wish they had all this cool stuff when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s!

Overall Review: Fabulous, future-proof board. You will love it!
