CD ROM Probe setup
Pros: Large case. Lots of places for fans. 2 X 80mm in the front for HD cooling, 1 X 80mm on top, 1 X 90mm on the back and 1 X 120mm on the left side. Can remove top, left and right side panels and the front panel for service. Due to the open design everything is staying very cool with air cooling only. Overall I think it's a nice case. Besides the items I've already mentioned, the case is attractive. I would agree with the person who said not to by the case just for the display but the display does work and is good for a quick reference as to what's going on. While the temp probes are accurate, proper positioning is a challenge and the MB sensors seem to work better for that reason.
Cons: 5.25" bay screwless mounts don't hold at all. Use the screws. I still used screws for the 3.5" floppy but after bending the metal tabs in a bit it could have worked without the screws. The Hard Drive mounts worked fine. Had to remove the CPU fan duct. The CPU Cooler I purchased was too tall and the duct didn't line up with the CPU, anyway. There were two fewer MB standoffs than what the MB required. Purchased some additional standoffs separately. There were enough screws, though. Broke one of the plastic cap nuts while replacing the side case fan but I didn't apply that much torque to the screw.
Overall Review: Some people have said that they cannot figure out the CD ROM probe. You can use it if you have only the CD ROM on the IDE cable. Use the empty connector for the CD ROM probe. The instructions show you which pins to plug it into. I have verified that it works but it isn't as active as the HD indicator. There are some music notes beside the indicator so maybe it's more active while playing audio CDs. In response to some of the other reviews: 1) Found no sharp edges in the case. 2) The instructions aren't the best but I was able to figure out everything from them. 3) There is a battery for the display so if your display doesn't hold it's settings, try changing the battery. You can remove the front panel after first removing three screws. 4) If you lay the case on its side it isn't that difficult to install the left side panel but standing up it is more difficult due to the size of the thing. 5) The LCD is designed to be viewed from about a 30+ degree angle above the display.
Ligisys KB801BK; don't set your expectations too high.
Comments: I purchased this keyboard because I needed a mini-keyboard and wanted one that was illuminated for work at night. I chose this particular keyboard for it's width because I also have a trackball in the keyboard drawer on the desk where this keyboard was placed and room is at a premium. Most of the keys are full sized which is also a plus. I do like the LEDs, as opposed to EL lighting becuase the space beside the keys is not as bright as the keys themselves (except if you are at an angle where you can see the LEDs between the keys). The LEDs are bright and they are not all the same brightness but I don't find that to be a problem. While I wouldn't consider it the perfect keyboard it does the things I need it to do and it didn't cost as much as other models. I have considered purchasing a second one for a different computer. Of the things that I dislike about it, none are showstoppers but you should consider them before making your purchase. As you might expect, the high-gloss finish shows fingerprints. The LEDs above the keypad are green, not blue. The keypad doesn't light up with the rest of the keys. It's supposed to flash when your cell phone rings. I have not experienced that even with the phone sitting on top of the keys but it does flash whenever my wife shuts off her hair dryer plus at other random times. And lastly, I miss the volume control buttons that my other keyboard had (personal preference).
Trying Tenergy because other brands failed.
Pros: Purchased 4 of these. They all worked but I've only had them for a few weeks. Shipping was on time.
Cons: Not 10000 MAh.
Overall Review: I had purchased 4 EBL's with a charger and 1 was essentially a dummy. So, I purchased a couple SunLabz. The SunLabs were rated the same as the EBLs. Used one of them with 3 EBLs. Used them in a 1500 Lumen flashlight. I only use the flashlight a few times each year. This is the third year and the SunLabz leaked. Looked at these Tenergy and PowerX. They both received about the same rating in reviews. The general indications from other reviews are that Tenergy doesn't care much about customer support but PowerX does. To me, the trade-ff was Tenergy batteries at half the price but with less capacity and no apparent customer support. If they work out well I would still consider the PowerX batteries in the future. If they don't work out I will wait until one of the newer battery technologies becomes available.
I wouldn't purchase it again
Pros: Charge port.
Cons: It says USB 3 but the throughput from my USB 3 hard drive is only half that as compared to when the HD is connected directly to the computer. It's faster than USB 2 but definately not USB 3 in performance. If manufacturers were honest with consumers could they stay in business?
Careful...
Pros: charging port for smartphone
Cons: Careful. This unit looks identical to the HooToo hub that I purchased. While it says USB 3 and is compatible, my USB 3 hard drive runs at half the throughput when connected to my HooToo device compared to directly connected to the computer. It's faster than USB 2 but not USB 3 speeds.
Not real impressed
Pros: Pretty
Cons: They don't last. I have three of these devices. On one the LED works for about 5 minutes and then goes out. This occured fairly soon after I bought it. Another one just died the other day. The HD was making a horrible noise so I switched it with another HD. That HD didn't seem to work so I connected the original HD to a different device and it came back to life.
Overall Review: Manufacturers like to brag that they have a failure rate of less than one percent while their products are under warranty but the customer reviews show otherwise. This is true with many products, not just hard drive enclosures. Are manufacturers really proud of the garbage they build?
Simiple sale.
It was a simple sale because I already knew what I wanted before finding the reseller.
