Great Sticks
Pros: Its hard to believe i got this and a msi z77 G41 motherboard and this amount of ram for 99$ the motherboard is now 99$ and the ram is another 87$ The motherboard came with a rebate i think and the RAM i am pretty sure was on shellshocker. Either way i was extremely happy with the price
Cons: None
Just past 1 year of use, here's my review
Pros: +Fairly slim design for a gaming laptop +Great backlit keyboard +Msata port for upgrading storage +Put in a SSD as your primary drive for optimal performance +Very powerful components for the price
Cons: -Not a quad core, If youre going to do a lot of gaming, the dual core will likely bottle neck a lot of more intensive games (i.e. Star Citizen) -Runs hot during intensive gaming (85-95 C), though I've never owned a laptop before this so I have little to compare it to. -Track-pad is pretty difficult to use, especially when you accidentally utilize swipe commands in windows 8
Overall Review: Despite the cons, this laptop is still an excellent buy. Handles most new games at medium to high, older games and games that are optimized well can run on ultra. After a year of use my only regrets are not getting the 15.6 inch because it barely fits in my backpack for college, and not getting the quad core because it was a bit more expensive. These are my own faults so I can't take eggs away for that. Also noticed a few dead pixels after a few days of use, however replacing the screen is a cheap fix if it ever becomes too much of a bother for me.
First Build
Pros: looks awesome Blue light is bright but not too bright (in my opinion) Enough room for my hardware First case on my custom build
Cons: no window i keep forgeting not to put to much stuff on top because of exhaust fan.
Overall Review: I love this case. Really the only thing that could make this better is to replace the side panel with a window panel and get some cathode lights to put inside to show off my hardware. Not that anyone other than myself will see it mostly...
Good Board
Pros: Z77 1600 RAM Ivy Bridge 4 Slots for ram Price Good looking BIOS Faster than my old board
Cons: Not sure if this was a problem with the motherboard or my operating system but i kept blue screening on startup for windows 7 but fortunately i had a install disc. sadly i lost all my settings, drivers and whatnot and am still in the process in getting things back to normal. but i can live with it. i didnt lose any important documents because i managed to back them up.
Overall Review: even though i had trouble getting everything back to normal again. im just happy i can sit here and type this review so im not even that mad. overall good value budget board.
GREAT CARD
Pros: I got this card in August of last year and so far I'm very happy with it. It plays most of what I want to play on medium to high settings at 1920x1080 and is good for watching HD videos. I don't know how long i will have this card but i hope it lasts until I upgrade it. So far the best $80 ive spent on computers.
Cons: Doesnt play everything on max settings, but i knew that it wouldnt. I was on a budget so i couldnt spend more than i did.
Overall Review: the cons don't really detract from me playing games. as soon as i upgrade my processor to an i5 i will get the most out of this card.
Upgrade
Pros: Much better speed in online gaming since i upgraded from a 54 mbps g wireless card.
Cons: none so far.
Overall Review: great card for the value, got it with the cradle so i have an extended usb port pretty much (since i already had one)
