Super Fast
Pros: Cost, Speed, AMD
Cons: Haven't found any yet
Overall Review: This thing is pretty darn fast, and it has 8 cores! The cost can't be beat it's cheaper than the competitor by far. I am very pleased with this processor
Not sure
Pros: Cost was free
Cons: 3 products most of it's commercial trial. Power2Go 10 Essentials basic features is the only free product.
Overall Review: I like other products better than this if I am going to pay for it, and there are better free programs than this one.
Very Slim Very Lite
Pros: Very Slim, very lite, fast, free windows 10 upgrade, long battery life, second ssd slot, decent speakers, very little bloatware
Cons: no dvd drive, multiple dongles
Overall Review: Bought this because of the lite-weight, and the hardware specs. The first unit had a battery that was DOA which is why it is getting 4 eggs instead of 5. A dead battery on a refurbished unit should never happen if the manufacturer really refurbished it. The second issue I had was when I received the replacement unit on an RMA through newegg. The first unit came with a pouch to carry the laptop, and a pouch to carry the dongles. However, the replacement unit didn't come with either of these pouches. Newegg said to contact ASUS, but ASUS said some come with it and some don't! If I knew this I would have kept the pouches when sending it back. ASUS will not send me pouches, and to me this is ridiculous! Either put pouches in all your refurbished units, or don't put them in all of your units not 50/50. (This is the last time I get upset by ASUS cause this isn't the first time their customer service department has dropped the ball.) Newegg isn't at fault because they don't package ASUS products for them. Despite the previous issues the replacement unit works great! It's very fast, and very lite! The free windows 10 upgrade makes this thing worth wild. It has a Mac-ish feel to it, and look as well. I can see why some people like Linux on this machine, but windows 10 is very smooth and zippy on it. Speakers sound good, Bios is easy to update. Battery states 6hrs time on it, I will have to see if it lasts that long, but don't see any reason it can't. Only moving part in the whole computer is the small CPU fan. What I don't like is the replacement unit charger because there is no light on the charger to show it is working, and prongs don't fold down. (The original one I got had a light on the charger, and the a/c prongs folded down for transport). I like the extra SSD M.2 slot. But I bought the wrong size I got a 2242 and you need the longer version to match up to the screw hole in the motherboard. All you have to do is format the M.2 and the second slot makes for extra storage. I added another 128Gb to mine. All in all this is a great little laptop at a good price. Add the 2yr warranty and it's a really good deal.
WD quality
Pros: Western Digital Quality, and great price!
Cons: n/a
Overall Review: I used this as a storage drive in a build for a friend, always have great luck with WD and I don't use any other drives. Seen all other brands fizzle out, but have some WD blues that are almost 20 years old still rocking and rolling
MSI AMD quality
Pros: cost, size, fan, speed, quality, DVI and HDMI
Cons: n/a
Overall Review: I didn't need a super powerful graphics card, but wanted something that was decent. The 1GB of RAM is plenty for editing pictures as my customer will be doing. It also is nice that it's 2.1, and it works great. The software took an update right after install, and it is performing as expected. The 3D rating in Windows 7 was only 4.6 but the other graphics rating was like 5.9. Not the greatest if you are wanting to game, but for what my customer needs it for he will love it. I like the fan and heat sink, and it has both MSI quality and AMD quality built into it.
SSD Speed
Pros: cost, case, adapter for 3.5", speed
Cons: n/a
Overall Review: I was a little leery of buying ADATA as they get mixed reviews. This is only the second one I have tried. The other one being an ADATA that was re-branded to a store brand name. I must say that both of them have surpassed expectations. In fact on Windows 7 Pro this thing gets a rating of 7.9 which is the highest rating Windows 7 Pro can give. I have had other popular brands not even achieve 7.9. So far it is working great, and I have no qualms with this at all. For the price point I may start buying many of these for future builds.
Awesome!
First time using this company and their memory, but they have me sold! This is great stuff! Watch out Corsair, Kingston, and G.Skill
