Did not work for my needs.

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-8GAO
G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-8GAO

Pros: Worked for AM3+ I tested it in

Cons: Did not work for the Intel Atom D525 I bought it for

Overall Review: The memory would not clock down to something that the Gigabyte D525TUD (Intel Atom D525) would accept. I know its not on the QVL for that board but no memory on the QVL for that board is currently being sold. The Intel Atom D525 will accept 8GB of memory, contrary to what Intel used to say. They have a release on their website that explains that they stated that 4GB was the limit for marketing reasons. I have new Gigabyte D525TUD boards and am looking for memory that will work with them. I will keep this memory for future use.

Lenovo Ideatab A1000L 7" 16GB 1.2GHz Android 4.1 Wi-Fi Portable Tablet PC
Lenovo Ideatab A1000L 7" 16GB 1.2GHz Android 4.1 Wi-Fi Portable Tablet PC

Pros: It Turns On

Cons: Besides not having Bluetooth as stated in my other review of this item I neglected to mention that it only has one speaker where the other models of Lenovo A1000F that I own have two speakers and excellent stereo sound.

Overall Review: There is no reason to buy this product and they should tell the customer exactly what model of tablet they are getting. I think I got ripped off.

ASUS VN248H-P 24" (Actual size 23.8") Full HD 1920 x 1080 VGA, 2x HDMI MHL Compatible Built-in Speakers Super Narrow Frame Design LED Backlit IPS Monitor
ASUS VN248H-P 24" (Actual size 23.8") Full HD 1920 x 1080 VGA, 2x HDMI MHL Compatible Built-in Speakers Super Narrow Frame Design LED Backlit IPS Monitor

Pros: No Pros

Cons: Does not wake when connected to HDMI (when the computer wakes the screen). Design flaw that should have been caught in testing. The user should not have to press the power button to turn the monitor off from low power state and then press it again each time the screen is shut off to save power. With that in mind: This product does not meet the advertised energy compliance guidelines. They should recall all of these. I am asking Asus to refund my return shipping due to the false energy compliance claims.

Overall Review: Stand is wobbly but almost any monitor in this price range has a weak stand.

Better than most in this price range

Lenovo A1000 8GB 1G LPDDR2 Memory 7.0" 1024 x 600 Tablet Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
Lenovo A1000 8GB 1G LPDDR2 Memory 7.0" 1024 x 600 Tablet Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)

Pros: front facing stereo speakers, updates pre-installed, like new condition

Cons: no screen protector, glossy screen

Overall Review: After owning two of the HP Slate 7 and two of the Lenovo Ideatab A1000 (non-referb retail versions) I can only say that the HP Slate 7 is pretty worthless for longevity of life and has terrible mono sounding audio. The HP Slate has been a frustrating purchase and a waste of hard earned money especially when I factor in that each HP Slate was fif ty doll ers more than the A1000. By comparison the A1000’s I have that were subjected to the same lifestyle and use have not broken and have the most gorgeous stereo sound you can imagine from something with tiny built in speakers. I bought two additional A1000's (referbs) on this site and was pleasantly surprised that they came with the updates pre-installed including an update not available to my retail A1000's. This update, apparently done during the referb process, takes the partition for apps and enlarges it to 3GB. The original retail version of the A1000 I had had 500MB for apps and the available update took that partition to 1.5GB. When I see reviews bashing the A1000 it is most often because people did not update their device and have only 500MB of app storage. Compared to the Wally Mart and other generic brand tablets for the same price this is a higher quality unit. Unlike my retail A1000's, these referb units did not come with an anti-glare screen protector.

Acer Aspire 11.6" Intel Celeron 1007U 4GB DDR3 Memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit NX.M89AA.004

Pros: Great performance for the price at the price I paid. Windows 7.

Cons: No touch screen.

Overall Review: At the time I ordered this ultra-portable laptop the Acer and this website both listed it as having a touch screen. This laptop does not come with a touch screen. Only the Windows 8 version of this laptop has a touch screen. Oddly the Windows 8 version and Windows 7 version of this laptop were within a few dollars of each other when I bought it. Being a tech an power user there is no way I could have got the Windows 8 version.

ASRock AD525PV3 Intel Atom D525 (1.8 GHz, Dual-Core) Intel NM10 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo
ASRock AD525PV3 Intel Atom D525 (1.8 GHz, Dual-Core) Intel NM10 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo

Pros: It worked for five (5) weeks no problems.

Cons: After five (5) weeks I need to clear the CMOS before the computer will start. System has no optical drive, (CD, DVD, BluRay). Changing amount and type of RAM does not help. Changing HDD model or disconnecting HDD does not help. Just a power LED but does not POST, self test, or anything. Monitor does not even come out of sleep.

Overall Review: Week seven (7) Now the unit stops on POST even after a CMOS clear. Sometimes gets as far a looking for hard drive but stops and screen goes blank on each power on. Going to the E-Waste soon. My first AsRock and last. Never contacted me back and has been two weeks. I build and fix computers and will never use this company again.
