TOSHIBA Canvio Desk 5TB USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive HDWC250XK3J1 Black

Pros: Pros: + Works as advertised. + Low cost for a 5TB Drive. + Excellent performance for an external hard drive. + Takes advantage of USB3.0. + Runs cool. and Stays cool. Plenty of vents. + 3 Year warranty. + Compact size for a 3.5 inch form factor. Cons: - Noisier than some other external drives due to a plastic case with vents. - No SATA interface. - No backup button. - USB 3.0 interface can be fragile. - Plastic case will not be welcome to some people.

Overall Review: For the price this drive is great! Exceeds expectations for speed. I like the fact the vents on the drive allow it to run cool during long backup sessions, even if the noise is a little more due to the open vent case design.

Good Backpack if you can get Lenovo service

Lenovo Notebook Case Model B8050 (0C55491)
Lenovo Notebook Case Model B8050 (0C55491)

Pros: Great Features Large capacity. Waterproof cover in the bottom pocket

Cons: Factory defects not supported by Lenovo! Lenovo has not idea on how to support warranty issues on their own accessory products!

Overall Review: Basically, stay away from ANY Lenovo accessory product unless you directly purchase the accessory from the Lenovo site. Even then, watch out for poor support on items such as Lenovo branded backpacks. None of their support staff seems to know how to handle warranty service on anything except a computer.

Almost Perfect For The Task

Patriot Stellar Series 64GB OTG USB 3.0 External Storage For Android Smartphones/ Tablets- PSF64GSTROTG
Patriot Stellar Series 64GB OTG USB 3.0 External Storage For Android Smartphones/ Tablets- PSF64GSTROTG

Pros: + Works as advertised. + Small Size. (smaller than it appears in the NE pics) + Decent performance. + Takes advantage of USB3.0. (for read) Crystal Disk Mark as used with Core i5-3570K (stock speed) Win7x64 Ult, 8GB RAM, fast SATA 3 6G SSD, USB 3.0 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64 (C) 2007-2013 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- * MB/s = 1,000,000 byte/s [SATA/300 = 300,000,000 byte/s] Sequential Read : 150.485 MB/s Sequential Write : 36.322 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 120.566 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 0.484 MB/s Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 8.023 MB/s [ 1958.6 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 0.021 MB/s [ 5.1 IOPS] Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 8.140 MB/s [ 1987.4 IOPS] Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 0.020 MB/s [ 4.9 IOPS] Test : 1000 MB [X: 0.2% (0.1/57.7 GB)] (x5) Date : 2014/02/27 19:38:47 OS : Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 [6.1 Build 7601] (x64)

Cons: - Average write speed for a USB 3.0 device intended for backup purposes. - Sharp edges. ( buffed mine out) - No micro extension cable and/or 90 degree micro connector option - Not waterproof. A thing since the standard USB connection is not capped. - No status LED.

Overall Review: Watch those sharp edges. They will easily scratch your case!! My cons listed above are to be taken with a grain of slat since the price/performance value of the drive is, in my opinion, still an outstanding device. But this may change as more devices of a similar nature are produced by others.

Good for the price

LOGISYS Computer PS480D 480 W ATX12V Power Supply
LOGISYS Computer PS480D 480 W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: Price (Can't beat the $9.95 deal) Value for the wattage. Better SATA Connector Specs that listed. Has 2 instead of 1.

Cons: No Power Factor Correction (PCF). Voltage and power correction will be average at best Don't expect this to be a supply to used for anything other than a basic build. No 8-PIN aux power connector for the CPU. Only 4-Pin. Stated power of 480w should be clearly listed as Peak power. No indication of this on the MFR web site or in the NewEgg product listings. You can only see this via a sticker on the side of the power supply.

Overall Review: I have been beating on 37 of these power supplies near their rated average power of 330 Watts for the last week since building a group of basic business systems. So far no issues with any of the power supplies. I find the fact that none of the supplies have any problems reassuring. A quick check with a multimeter showed the supplies were meeting their rated specs. I would like to see a future version of this supply trade a set of Molex connectors for another pair of SATA power connectors.

RAM OK, Musking rebate will take forever

Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 998826
Mushkin Enhanced Ridgeback 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 998826

Pros: Memory performs at least as good as specifications state. If not better. Runs decently cool for what it is. Good looking heatsink. Excellent tech support. (Thank goodness!)

Cons: Heatsink easily comes loose after very few insertions. The Ridgeback heatsink and their TIM are not robust enough to be your primary test RAM if you are going to move it from board to board Once the TIM adhesive for the heatsinks is loosened you may have a hard time seating the modules correctly. Since the TIM loosens easily you should plan on getting your modules serviced often if you perform repeated insertions.

Overall Review: Mushkin Rebate take a LONG time. 2010-06-06: Purchase date 2010-06-16: Rebate mailing date 2010-11-08 : Rebate receipt date Time to Rebate: About 5 months. Definitely longer than a card billing cycle. Patriot rebate times are better by at least a month or two. Unfortunately, even as long as the Mushkin rebate interval is, they are still better than most I have experienced.

Darn Good DRR3!

G.SKILL PI + Turbulence II 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model F3-16000CL6T-6GBPID
G.SKILL PI + Turbulence II 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model F3-16000CL6T-6GBPID

Pros: + Does what is says. + Included note for Asus motherboard setting is a plus. + Easy to reach the stated speed and timings in a Asus Rampage II GENE. Even with 12 GB (6 modules) installed. + Operation so fast and smooth you will notice your CPU working harder than before because it's being well fed by the RAM. + Runs pretty cool even without a RAM fan. + Excellent quality thermal spreaders. + Good looking appearance. + Excellent packaging to protect the RAM during shipment. And [insert deity here] knows we all need this with Newegg.com shipping methods.

Cons: Need a RAM fan with better mounting hardware. The included fan mount takes an otherwise slick kit and makes it appear ghetto. A more stable mounting mechanism like the OTC XTC RAM cooler would be much better. Wish the RAM fans has a 3-ping motherboard header connection.

Overall Review: Mushkin could learn a lesson or two about excellent quality thermal spreaders from G.SKill! Even the current Ridgeback sucks in comparison and slide right off after a few insertions. The G.SKILL PI + Turbulence II spreaders stay in place and keep the RAM cool.
