Great receiver!
Pros: Receiver does everything it says it can do and does it well. My speakers sound great coming through and video looks great too. I have a pair of Polk Monitor70s running off this and they sound great. I have no reception/lag issues with the remote but I've only tested from about 12 feet away. The receiver itself looks great, very sleek.
Cons: The reason for 4 eggs instead of 5 is twofold: 1) Like others have mentioned, setting up through composite/component and not HDMI is a real pain. The only cables I had handy were composite and my flat screen did not have a composite connection. I had to bring up an old TV and hook it up. That's the only hard part though, the actual setup is pretty easy. 2) No up-conversion but for the price you're paying you can't really expect it.
Great speakers
Pros: Great sounding speakers! Easy to hook-up (I recommend getting a set of speaker wire with banana plugs already attached. It makes everything 1000x easier.) I have them running through my Pioneer receiver and they sound great.
Cons: The only con I found was carrying these suckers. So heavy!
Great External!
Pros: Great external! Can't beat the price for the space you get. I've ran one almost constantly for 8 months with no problems. I just bought a second one for more backup space.
Cons: As slow as any USB external but you have to expect that. More than fast enough for what you need.
Great Router
Pros: Awesome router! Unlike my last one, I've had zero problems with having to constantly refresh it as it get outs of sync with my cable modem.
Cons: None.
