ASUS Certified Refurbished Transformer Book T100TA 10.1" MultiTouch 2-in-1 Notebook / Tablet with Intel Atom Quad Core Z3740 1.33 GHz (1.86 GHz Burst), 2 GB Memory, 32 GB SSD Storage, Detachable Key

Pros: Nice tablet when it works. Mostly doesn't, however.

Cons: Purchased as a refurbished item in Oct. 2014 and have a steady stream of update problems, failing to boot into Windows, more often than not going to automatic repair and on several occasions getting locked out of the device and needing to generate and enter a Bit Locker Key. I have done multiple complete resets of the tablet and usually somewhere down the line, and after a brief honeymoon I find myself back at the point of spending all of my time solving the same kinds of problems. Asus support has denied me repair because a refurbished unit has only a 90 day warranty and I was dumb enough to find my own solutions to keep the tablet going for about 100 days before I gave up in utter frustration at the repeating problems and gave them a call. Although it seems on the surface more like software issues, I suspect that there is something balky about the hardware this being a refurbished unit. At one point after a reset, windows would not activate and Asus support steered me to a page on vip.asus.com in my account to assist in recovering the windows key. It wouldn't work. They finally realized that it wasn't working because of the refurb status and advised me that I would now need to call Microsoft to purchase another 8.1 license to continue to use the device.

Overall Review: Simply not worth the hassle of the device quirks when combined with tone-deaf attitude of Asus support.
