Transformer Book T100 is a compact ultraportable that combines the productivity features of a laptop with the easy portability of a tablet - and you can switch between the two in an instant. At just 2.35lbs (1.07kg), T100 is one of the lightest laptops around. But detach the 10.1-inch display from the keyboard and it becomes an equally lightweight multi-touch tablet you can take anywhere. The sleek design features a durable finish, too, so T100 will always look its best.
Transformer Book T100 is powered by the latest Intel® Atom™ Z3740 quad-core processor for perfect balance of multi-tasking performance and outstanding energy efficiency. With up to 11 hours battery life, T100 can last for more than a full working day before it needs to be recharged. 32 / 64GB eMMC storage makes launching apps and saving files speedy, too, while USB 3.0 supports next-generation SuperSpeed storage devices for turbo-charged data transfers.
Transformer Book T100 lasts for up to 11 hours on battery power and, with exclusive ASUS Super Hybrid Engine II technology, you can enjoy extended standby times of up to two weeks with near-instant wake-up times. Just press the power button and T100 is ready for use in just two seconds, so there's no waiting around when it's time to work - or play. There's no need to worry about data loss if T100 is left unused for longer, either. Data is also backed up automatically when the battery level drops to 5% in standby mode, so you won't be in for a nasty surprise when you next switch on.
Transformer Book T100 isn't just a tablet with a keyboard dock - it's designed from the get-go to be a fully functional laptop. Precision-engineered keys with ample travel make for comfortable typing and the multi-touch touchpad complements the multi-touch display with full Windows 8.1 gesture support. The dock also features USB 3.0 with full support for next-generation high-speed storage devices, while a Micro-HDMI port on tablet means you can connect T100 to a Full HD TV for big-screen entertainment.
Developed by the team of experts in the ASUS Golden Ear team, SonicMaster audio technology uses a tailored mix of hardware and software to enhance sound quality to a level far above what you might expect from so small a laptop. Stereo speakers with large resonance chambers give rich, rounded bass and sophisticated audio processing tools boost the frequency range to make music, movies and games sound fantastic.
Transformer Book T100 features a beautiful 10.1-inch IPS HD display that brings all your photos, videos and games to life. Its clarity, detail and multi-touch support are a perfect match for the updated Xbox entertainment apps in Windows 8.1, which give you instant access to millions of songs, videos and games. And thanks to T100's amazing sound and incredibly light weight, it's absolutely perfect for entertainment on the move.
Transformer Book T100 comes with unlimited ASUS WebStorage free for one year. WebStorage makes it easy to store and share data in the cloud - personal files, photos, music, movies and more. WebStorage automatically syncs across other devices, so there's no need to carry files around on a USB flash drive - all you need is an Internet connection. WebStorage lets you stream media when you're on the move, too, and sharing files with friends takes just a few clicks.
Pros: Full Desktop version of regular Windows 8.1 - 32 bit. (Not the useless windows RT which is not real desktop windows). Processor is capable of 64 bit but 32 bit is recommended for all the functions to work on this device. Mine worked out of the box and was pretty much in new condition for me. The UPC code was on the shipping box. I see the horror stories of DOA on the reviews on this section it's possible that I got lucky or happen to know what I was doing. It's affordable and fast the intel atom baytrail exceeds my expectations for the atom. 32 GB but comes with a hidden 8 GB read-only recovery partition. The 64GB doesn't have this. Can play league of legends and hearthstone on lowest settings. (better for regular computer use)
Cons: Have to be somewhat tech savvy to get the most out of this tablet. For example installing start8 or classic shell to get your start button (like windows 7)back. (Can still use metro if you wanted to) You will get into a computer is updating and restart loop if you start windows update before the asus updates.... In fact it might just be better to turn off windows update in general... (but this will make your computer more vulnerable than fully updated windows). Always update windows defender definitions though (its your anti virus) Sleep drains more battery with keyboard connected. If you disconnect keyboard before sleep battery levels stay within + or - 2%.
Overall Review: I sold my gaming laptop and got this instead of the surface pro 3 because I wanted a tablet hybrid with full windows at an affordable price. I'm waiting on a surface pro with the broadwell SoC and Intel Iris Pro graphics so I can play some more graphic intense games. I definitely don't want to spend $1000 on the surface pro 3 without the broadwell chip. This is definitely a better deal than the surface pro 1. Although the processor is slower than the pro 1... it only uses 2 watts and gets me around 8 hours battery (thats 2-2.5 times longer batt life!!) Get a micro-usb OTG to usb adapter for an extra USB port. (This plugs in your charger. NOTE: micro-usb NOT mini) Keyboard takes a short time to adjust. Nothing annoying. The right shift is just smaller than a full sized right shift. Definitely check out the forums dedicated to this device for some awesome tips and advice for it. For some reason my wi-fi did not work at my college until I spoofed a different MAC address (weird). 16:9 ratio bad for textbooks but good for 720p videos. HTML5 player for youtube is a lot faster than flash. Can install in chrome as an add on. Highly recommend sumatra PDF reader on this. It's fast. To full screen you tap screen with both thumbs. To rotate books you use thumb and finger and turn clock/counterclockwise. To exit full screen you tab screen with 2 fingers again. Should update to latest BIOS for all the new fixes by Asus.
