Read the Manual
Pros: Board works well. I'm extremely pleased with Gigabytes technical support. Only had to wait 5 minutes and the tech that took the call was very helpful.
Cons: No real cons I guess.
Overall Review: Just in case there is anyone else out there like me that hooks things up without reading the manual. OK. And to be honest I still haven't looked at it. But the memory apparently needs to go in the white slot first. Or at least that's what the tech had me do and the board worked fine. Else....it kept power on for a few seconds then off. then on then off by itself. You get the general idea. By simply moving the memory to the white slot...darn thing worked fine. Maybe it's me...but who'd have thunk it. :)
Check front panel connectors
Pros: Solid, attractive, good ventilation, plenty of room to work.
Cons: Front panel wires were wired incorrectly
Overall Review: The wire problem could have been an anomoly. I haven't actually run into this before. I have another case just like this one and it was fine. Tried to power up my PC and no power. I double checked my connectors and they looked fine. Switched power supplies still nothing. Pulled everything out and tried it bare and still nothing. Figured it was the MB and sent it back. Got the new board and same exact thing. No way was it 2 bad boards in a row. Eventually I checked the cables. They had the reset switch wired to the power button and the power button wired to the reset switch. On this case, you can't press the reset switch just the power button. Switched them around and all is fine. Was time consuming and annoying.
Installation is a bit rough
Pros: Quiet.
Cons: Tough to install by oneself. Not enough hands.
Overall Review: Finally got the darn thing in. I was practicing patience and may have succeeded. It is successfully installed. I think there has to be an easier way.
