Pros: Price is unbeatable. From a little comparison shopping and forums I learned asiahorse brand is decent among the low cost options. Looks really nice with speed and color options solid, rainbow, or swirly. 1/5 the price of other kits.
Cons: 4pin molex connector quality is SUS! When plugging power in the pins push out from the other side. A little gentle handling and a flap broke open on the connector plug. Did a fix with zip ties and electric tape to keep it from causing a short. My box was missing the fan screws so I had to spend extra time and money to get from another source.
Overall Review: Overall considering the price I was willing to endure some little annoyances. Installed into a Corsair 4000D Airflow and it looks great.
Pros: 5600x CPU and I wanted a more efficient and nicer looking Cooler than stock AMD cooler. This CPU is only 65W so this cooler is more than enough. Looked at a couple reviews online and it cools significantly better than stock. Was easier than expected to install. I'm building a second identical unit soon and will buy again.
Cons: I didn't see airflow direction indicated on the fan anywhere. Maybe I missed it but I did look so ended up initially installing in wrong direction of airflow. Easy to correct.
Overall Review: For the cost conscious you get a nice performing and good looking cooler that is better than stock cooling. For high end CPUs you should buy something else but for great performing midrange CPUs this does the trick.
Pros: Cooler is good looking, quiet. Less artifacts than my 7850 in highly modded games. 8 pin power so no worries about pulling too much power from pci slot.
Cons: Low availability, kind pricy, like all these new midrange cards that promised top be more affordable. Can't cross fire unless you card slots are really spaced out well
Overall Review: I bought at a big box store cause it was the only one left. Didn't know this was going to be so nice. Having a difficult time finding a game to really push this card
Pros: Seems to run cool pretty cool and quiet on my topmost drive slot. 31C at rest with ambient of 30C
Cons: None yet
Overall Review: Instead of shunning Seagate drives, I got some great deals shopping around, loaded up rig with 8ea 3tb and 2ea 5tb. Newegg packing is pretty good (4 of the drives from them) none DOA. I'm happy with the purchase. The noisiest thing in my PC are the fans, which aren't loud at all. I'll know in a few weeks if everything is all well and will update my review if anything changes.
Pros: Works without issue and is cool and quiet. Best bang for the buck for large storage space. Compares fairly well to my Black drive in crystal disk benchmark. (faster reads and writes in large sequential blocks, worse in small random blocks and deep que depth tests)
Cons: Hard drive prices are still in a bubble so there is not much to choose from for a high capacity drive for a good price (except here)
Overall Review: Purchased the external model, removed the drive and what do you know, it's the same model as this internal drive but for less money. I saved enough money doing this I'm considering doing it again. This would negate any warranty however. Obviously, I'm very happy with this drive.
Pros: Responsive, beautiful screen, lightweight. Build quality appears high. Big fan of Samsung products
Cons: Not enough cash to buy the thing
Overall Review: Spent over 30 minutes evaluating it in a big box store with a samsung rep. Coming from a Galaxy phone, everything is very familiar. The screen is the best I've seen. Very light weight for it's size. The size is perfect for consuming media as well. Wife has Ipad, I want one of these. Been researching tablets since last month and this one is the best one for me for the price.
Pros: Screen is great if you don't mind glossy. The keyboard and touch pad are good. This laptop can run pretty much every game out there right now, you may have to turn setting low for the newer games.
Cons: Speakers not that good. They get loud with little distortion but absolutely no range. The exhaust cooling fan is horrible as it pushes hot air on your hand if you use external mouse. The lid doesn't lock down when transporting. Internal HDD is slow to load windows and game screens.
Overall Review: I got this as an open box buy and couldn't pass it up due to price. Swapped 2nd Ram stick for an 8gb ddr-1600 for a total of 12. Read somewhere that the 7640g reserves 512 but can also use several more gigs so I figured why not. Impressed with performance for the price.
Pros: I'm a long time user of malwarebytes. Currently installed on 2 desktops and 3 laptops. It's fast and light, smooth ui, and communicates well with the user when something suspicious is found or web code blocked.
Cons: Constant price flux, can lead to buyers remorse if you purchase at the wrong time. I think it's a good value at anything under 15.00.
Overall Review: Lifetime license is a huge plus. This is a well supported and popular product so it should continue to be in the future. Having the physical install disk with serial code is nice so you don't have to find pray about finding your digital stuff if you need to reinstall.
Pros: it was fairly inexpensive, worked for awhile. I purchased this model at a local B&M, not the egg.
Cons: Didn't last long. Trying to physically read the serial# off the card for the RMA is almost impossible without industrial magnifier.
Overall Review: started to get warning message from my Samsung Galaxy (SD Card unexpectedly unmounted). Happened many times then just stopped working. Tried to see the card with adapter to PC and it won't even see the card.
Pros: Most powerful laptop for less that 2k. The screen is awesome, that the whole system looks and feels great to use. This particular model has +4GB Ram, +500GB HDD, and an upgrade from DVD to Blu-Ray combo drive above the base version. Newegg sells it minus tax from outside California, and have always had positive retail experience with them.
Cons: You need to buy a special laptop bag to carry this thing around. There is a newer version of this laptop that includes a GTX 670m. That version also includes a motherboard that can max out ram at 32GB. -see other thought
Overall Review: I've been researching this laptop and playing around with it in stores. My last gaming laptop was ahead of it's time in value vs performance just as this laptop is. I'd really like to purchase this when the price drops. They are a little high presently compared to market.
Pros: Chipset on my MB ran hot. Put this on, much better. Very quiet and nice blue light.
Cons: put this on an old end of life motherboard, who does that? It was kind of fun installing it although it almost didn't fit
Overall Review: It's copper and quality seems pretty good for the price
Pros: suspends my hard drive in 5 1/4 drive bay. Good quality materials. secure. price
Overall Review: Fractal Design R4 case
Pros: Just look at it! Beautiful. Very good value to boot. I am really enjoying this case. Wonderful built quality and well thought out. The customer support fedex'd me extra case and hard drive screws when i lost mine at no cost!
Cons: There is no cons I can think of. This is pretty much the perfect case for me.
Pros: Perfect length for a mid tower, and priced right. Bought a bunch of them for my new 10 SATA port build. In hindsight, I should have picked two colors, one for the SATA6 ports and another for the SATA3 ports.
Cons: My only complaint is the latching mechanism on the straight port end doesn't snap into the motherboard SATA headers with snug confidence. It still locks and works great it just is not a tight fit as I would like. Not sure if it's my board or these sata cable locking mechanisms.
Overall Review: As they work fine I would recommend them.
Pros: I wanted a super quiet DVD burner. It is exactly what I got. Comes with Nero 9 but I'm not going to use it.
Cons: Build in 2010, so in computer terms it's old tech. Not advertised to burn CDR but i haven't tried it yet. That's fine, I already expected that.
Overall Review: Works fine, I hope it lasts a long time, I use my drive alot.
Pros: Nice low profile heatsinks, works as advertised.
Seems to be a recently released kit, so it's nice to get the new stuff. Motherboard is themed black and red but these actually go well, the side blue can't really be seen from top of board, just he black heatsink risers. Gskill warranty and support are supposedly good.
Cons: Mostly price and not many newegg reviews on this kit from newegg. I bought three days before it was on the shell shocker daily deal.
Overall Review: I picked these up as the second fastest 4gb/2 kit I could find for my Z77 chipset. Unless you do professional rendering/photoshop, more than 8gb is unecessary according to my research. The extra ram speed is justified for future overclocking and bragging rights. Not going to make a big difference in real world but still nice to have
Pros: Nearly silent, 10SATA power ports, great for home media server. Cord lengths are perfect for midsize towers. It powered everything in my case without issue. Have ability to run two card SLI/Crossfire for future expansion.
Cons: Not really a con as it's clearly advertised, but this is a semi-modular design. You have to hide your extra power cables you don't need.
Overall Review: Asrock Z77 Professional, I5 3570K, 8gb DDR2 2400, XFX Double D Radeon 7850, 1 SATA DVD, 8 HDD, 1 SSD
