What a great last showing for AM4

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Ryzen 7 5000 Series 8-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM4 105W None Integrated Graphics Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000651WOF
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Ryzen 7 5000 Series 8-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM4 105W None Integrated Graphics Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000651WOF

Pros: -Massive gains in gaming performance over older CPUs -Works on almost every AM4 motherboard -efficient

Cons: -With AM5 finally out I would hope this would be about $300

Overall Review: This cpu is a great last showing from the AM4 platform! I feel AMD really made a monster with this release. For anyone on 3000 series Ryzen or below considering upgrading this should be HIGH on your list of options. I waited for the release of the 7000 series parts and for the added cost/performance gains of the AM5 platform I was sold on the 5800X3D being my path forward from my R5 3600. Im excited that I could get such an amazing uplift in performance on my admittedly newer x570 motherboard with lower spec ddr4 3200 ram. I have recently bought a 4080 and it feels like I have a brand new PC. The thing that blows my mind the most is that I have a friend who has also bought the 5800X3D and a 4080. The kicker is he has a b350 series motherboard with ddr4 2666 ram and he gets comparable performance on a 6 year old motherboard! The upgrade potential here is insane! If you use your pc primarily for gaming, have a mobo that has a bios update for this cpu and you are looking to upgrade and are not looking to break the bank this is honestly the easiest choice to make. Give your hardware some new life and keep the bulk of it out of landfills! Happy gaming!

For the price it leaves you wanting more

GIGABYTE Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 16GB GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 x16 ATX Graphics Card GV-N4080GAMING OC-16GD
GIGABYTE Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 16GB GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 x16 ATX Graphics Card GV-N4080GAMING OC-16GD

Pros: -Good looking card -Runs very cool thanks to its over sized cooler -Well thought out support bracket -Good power to performance

Cons: -The over sized cooler that keeps the cars cool made me have to buy a new case because of power connector clearance -The cost of the 80 series card (a high end card I thought was supposed to be for the people) is ridiculous -I said the support bracket was a pro due to its well thought out design, but in reality we need support brackets now? Something doesnt sit right with me

Overall Review: The 4080 is an excellent example of a company with to much power in the market using its pull for greed. Nvidia has priced this card in such a way that they can maximize its profits on 2 year old products due to excessive surplus (3000 series cards). Cards mind you that were being sold off to scalpers and crypto miners instead of getting into the hands of the the core audience and primary buyers gamers. As soon as the crypto bubble popped and it became clear that there would be extra stock on 3000 series parts Nvidia passed the bag to very audience they should of been focusing on this whole time and expected us to fix it for them with hopes of finally being able to buy products at a reasonable price but its not reasonable, the 4080 is proof of that. This card exists (at its current asking price of $1200+ USD) solely to sell old stock while appearing as the shiny new cheaper option. It goes one step further and makes a $1600+ look good with its significantly cut down performance to the 4090. This card exists in my opinion, to sell other cards. The official announcement and pricing of the 4080 12gb (4070ti) is even further proof of how out of touch Nvidia is and how inflated its profits probably are. I can not imagine a time where there were $400 price gaps between card models. This card runs cool, looks great, performs better then the last gens best at significantly lower power draw and I have one in my PC, and you know what I can not feel more indifferent about it. With a $500 price increase over the last gen 80 series I feel like Nvidia has priced themselves out of the market. If you can skip this generation of Nvidia cards do yourself a favor and wait.

Best Case ever? NO. But still the best case I've ever owned.

Phanteks Eclipse P400A PH-EC400ATG_DBK01 Black Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is VERY compelling for the cost. This is the first case I have built in in over 8 years so the modern clean look was quite refreshing. RGB fans up front are nice and the color changing power button is cool to. Over all solid for the price.

Cons: The big issue. THE ONLY MAJOR ISSUE. This case needs to be maybe an inch taller... There is no way I can mount my AIO cooler to the top and it am very disappointed about that... it is so impossible with my x570 board I feel it is laughable/misleading in the specs/marketing material that they show radiators mounted to the top. I CAN'T EVEN USE TO TWO TOP FANS...

Overall Review: Overall this height issue is the only thing that would keep me from truly recommending this. Maybe some Mobos will not have this issue but how are you ever to tell until its infront of you. The AIO plus fan hits my RAM. If you do not care about these things and just want a clean case then I highly recommend. If I had known I would of gone a different route, probably also with Phanteks as I admire the free airflow approach.
