it's chill
Pros: This heat sink is well built, and it is almost entirely constructed with quality, thick copper. There’s a great number of cooling fins to help dissipate heat upwards. It cools extraordinarily well, lowering my north bridge temperature by nearly 10C compared to the cheap and flimsy stock cooler of the GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard. I suspect the temperature will continue to drop as the Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste settles and cures.
Cons: As you would expect from copper, the heat sink is quite heavy. The mounting hardware is comprised of cheap springs and plastic pushpins, in which simply does not compress well enough to maintain a good contact between the heat sink and the north bridge. The LED fan is very bright and at full speed is very loud.
Overall Review: The included mounting hardware WILL NOT FIT the GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard as it is too short to reach the original pushpin holes. Luckily, I have a ton of mounting hardware lying around my work bench from years of building computers, so I fabricated one to fit and sure enough it worked like a charm. I do not recommend this heat sink unless you are certain it will fit your setup, or that you have the means to create some type of mounting bracket. The mounting hardware included is not adjustable or flexible enough to be considered universal. For the price, one can simply not complain. If you are fortunate enough for the mounting bracket to fit your setup, than you will not be disappointed in the cooling ability of this heat sink.
Better than expected but still dissapointed.
Pros: This tablet has an overall good build quality and it is aesthetically pleasing. The app store “Google Play” actually works on this tablet, unlike other brands. Every App I have downloaded so far has installed properly including the almighty Netflix. The battery seems to be sustaining its charge very well as of yet. I can get about 2-4 hours of continuous use before recharging. Newegg’s processing and shipping is incredibly quick.
Cons: I didn’t buy this tablet for gaming, but this tablet has trouble playing the same simple games that run fine on my smart phone. I experienced extended loading times and quite a bit of lag. The RAM just isn’t enough to handle any type of multi-tasking what so ever. Ex; when I’m reading an eBook and one of my apps decided to automatically update, the O.S. completely froze. I found that using a process killer app to terminate apps running in the background can help but at times it can become a tedious task. The display is decent enough to play YouTube and Netflix videos clearly. However the resolution is too low for a 9” screen, making large resolution images distorted, especially when set as wallpaper. The camera quality is mediocre at best, and images come out blurry. The Wi-Fi connection is weak, I have a powerful wireless router and even though I sit five feet away from it, the connection randomly disconnects.
Overall Review: I didn’t expect much at all from this tablet as I purchased it for my Parent-in-laws; and even though I was very skeptical of the specs I just couldn’t pass on the $100 coupon sale, so I took the chance. My overall first impression was very positive. Its rounded edges and sleek design give it a sophisticated and modern look. It doesn’t feel cheap and if it wasn’t for the constant freezing I would be very happy with this purchase. I thought the price would justify its mediocre performance but I was wrong. It doesn’t pay to return it when taking shipping and restocking fees into consideration, so I will keep this for myself and find a better gift for my in-laws. As always, Newegg rock’s!
Disfuntional out of the box.
Pros: Affordable.
Cons: Feels very cheap and flimsy. The usb cable is only about two feet long. The Keys E,D,C,R,F,V,T,G,B never functioned out of the box.
Overall Review: Let me start out by saying that I don't expect a budget Product/Brand to do wonders; However, I do expect it to atleast function out of the box the way is it intended to do so. This keyboard was part of a PC Build that I gave to my significant other for christmas as a gift. When she plugged it in for the first time, nine of the qwerty keys never functioned at all. That made me look and feel stupid. It is literally not worth the money to return this after taking restocking & shipping fee's into consideration. Thank you for a $10 keyboard paperwheight rosewill. Never again.
First time Gskill user
Pros: Visually, these ram appear aesthetically pleasing and have an overall excellent design and construction quality. These have relatively low latency timings and 1866 MHz provides a subtle but noticeable difference in performance compared to 1600 MHz rated modules.
Cons: Tested both modules in Memtest86 and 86+, each generating over 40 errors within a couple of minutes when clocked at the advertised speeds of 1866mhz and timings of 9-10-9-28- 1T with 2T having the same results. Prime95 Torture test BSOD's within a few seconds on all three tests. The same test was performed with a pair of Corsair Vengeance modules rated @ 1600 MHz 9-9-9-24 that yielded stable results for 5 hours while still retaining my CPU over clock of 4.6GHz. Oddly enough, I was able to run multiple cinebench test's with no issues at all, yet gaming session's would BSOD randomly with no pattern related to my CPU over clock. I am almost certain these Gskill's are causing my system stability issues, especially limiting my over clocking potential being that I have left the FSB at stock speeds.
Overall Review: Gskill should have these hand tested individually like their competition to ensure proper quality control. If not for the testing, I would have rated them 5 stars, but since they a marketed as enthusiast RAM they should withstand basic testing and yield stable results, especially when advertised and rated to do so. I do not regret the purchase of the modules what so ever. I never expect to always get a winner when dealing with PC hardware. Thankfully that is what RMA's and extended warranties are for and I am glad that Newegg's customer service is legendary. Hopefully the replacements will run stable or I will be forced to continue using a different brand that I will not mention, but has yet to fail me. As always, Newegg rocks!
Great deal!
Pros: Formated and Installed Windows 8 OEM 64 Bit in minutes without a hiccup. This drive is much faster than my old 650GB WD Black Edition with 32MB cache. I got it on sale for a little over $60... awsome!
Cons: It isn't an SSD?
Overall Review: A bit skeptical from the negative reviews, but untill it dies I am very happy.
Do not hesitate, purchase with confidence!
Pros: In my experience Corsair has always provided high quality products, and there is no exception with this pair of RAM. *Runs flawlessly at rated specs. *Low Voltage. *Affordable. *Looks cool. This kit survived a three hour torture test in Prime95 and Succesfully passed 100% in Memtest86 @ 1600mhz 9-9-9-24
Cons: Barely clears the CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler. However, this is not an issue for me.
Overall Review: Upgraded from 2x 2GB DDR3 Cosair Dominator with same specs but 1.8v to these after one of them finally called quits after three years of overclocking abuse. These run cooler due to the 1.5v System Specs: MOBO: ASUS CROSSHAIR III FORMULA CPU: PHENOM II X4 975 B.E. @ 4.0GHZ CPU COOLER: HYPER 212+ RAM: THIS KIT GPU: (2) HD 7770's in CROSSFIRE PS: THERMALTAKE 750W MODULAR TOWER: CM SCOUT
