Nothing groundbreaking here
Pros: Reasonable price on sale, no tax, free shipping. seems to work fine so far.
Cons: not really a fan of wmp12, i like 10 or 11 better, but not a huge deal. typical learning curve for new os, finding some of the tasks that are in different places in xp or vista.
Overall Review: All the Vista bashing comments here make me laugh. I have never understood why everyone hates vista. To me, 7 and vista are virtually the same, yet everyone hates vista and loves 7. I have never, not been able to do a task because of vista, sure maybe i had to do a little research to figure out an issue, but eventually i found a solution or workaround. I actually would have purchased vista again, but newegg doesn't sell it anymore.
PS DOA
Pros: Case is okay i guess, thin sharp metal, only 1 hand slice during install. looks pretty good i suppose, didn't come beat up from shipping.
Cons: PSU dead, always read these reviews mentioning that on some of these cheap cases, but somehow have always dodge the bullet up until now. not really worth the shipping cost to rma, oh well, win some lose some.
Overall Review: Good thing i had a backup
keep looking
Pros: It was cheap when purchased, for a reason.
Cons: I've owned 3 of these and they've all croaked within 3-4 months. I have 2 samsungs that are several years old that are still going strong. Other reviewers are correct, the thing locks up, have to hard reset or take out battery to fix, and then screen goes out, etc, etc, these are junk. Samsungs, sonys, philips much better for same money. Unfortunately Newegg doesn't sell Samsungs anymore, other than the little round ones.
Overall Review: Didn't buy from Newegg, not their fault these players are junk.
time will tell
Pros: Fair price, fast shipping. Not sure how the thing performs, can't install os on new build until i get another heatsink fan.
Cons: Heatsink Fan DOA. What luck, first new case PSU DOA now heatsink fan dead. Been lucky all these years i guess, first time ever DOA on oem fan. Called AMD, shipping me another.
Overall Review: previous AMD dual cores have worked like a charm, maybe this one will too
not so good
Pros: Price was right, mouse feels right in your hand, that's about it.
Cons: intermittent response, herky-jerky nervous mouse, even with receiver 1 foot away and new batteries. I can see why it was cheap. not at all smooth most of the time.
Overall Review: it's hard to find a good wireless mouse it seems, either the signal is too weak and/or the action and movement aren't smooth.
works well
Pros: Worked with no problems with 4 gig DDR 800, x2 5200. no hiccups in loading vista 32, haven't tried on board video. Sound is good
Cons: Installed an ati video card instead of using on board graphics. First several attempts yielded no video, went back and forth plugging in to video card or on board dvi, rebooted, couldn't get a picture to adjust bios, after about 20 min, finally got video on video card, not sure how, i guess bios adjusted automatically after a while, who knows.
Overall Review: seems to be a solid board, always used gigabytes in the past, might try another asrock. the oc and fan software seems to work good, although i have no need to overclock.
