Value HPTC
Pros: Definitely value! For the PC itself + 4GB SODIMM + External USB DVD Drive (Optional), I paid only $268.60 including tax, shipping and credit from paypal (yet to receive~). Don't really need the External USB DVD drive if you wanted to save a bit more! I use a old 80GB 7200rpm hd from my laptop. Only using 2gb 800MHZ ram at the moment and installed win7pro 64bit. but runs ok! I find the build in wireless not as stable as my Belkin USB wireless N, so I haven't been using it. Fan noise is loud at startup, but very reasonable afterward. I have 720P AVI movies and it stream fine. Make sure to use media player that uses hardware decoding from GPU.
Cons: I use slingbox to stream TV to my plasma. This is currently a issue with only 2gb + 80G HD... Video will pause and play randomly.... Will add more ram later. I was able to get HDMI to play video/audio to my Samsung Plasma, but for some reason, my Yamaha Soundbar will not receive audio from HDMI via Jetway... need to resolve this still.
Overall Review: Overall, good value! But if I couldn't use slingbox with it, than is a deal breaker for me and I will have to sell it or something. Hopefuly once I add more ram or even a SSD, this issue will be resolved.
Blue screen of death
Pros: Great price, works with Slingbox, good little unit
Cons: Crash for the first time after five months of usage! The blue screen of death. 95% of the time, I use it to stream TV using my slingbox! CPU usage is fairly high. Hoping it doesn't crash again~
Good Value but...
Pros: This is great camera for the money! The iPhone apps is good. Better apps than the cloud edition camera
Cons: You will need to know how to do port forwarding. Doesn't do night vision. I have the cloud vision as well and is a lot easier to setup! No port forwarding to figure out. The cloud version has night vision which is what makes it much better than this camera!
Overall Review: Is good value but lack of night vision really put this camera off...
First Dual Band Router
Pros: Simultaneous 2.4 and 5Ghz wireless N. No drop connection for three days straight. Works with DDWRT.
Cons: 5Ghz signal is not that good. I had to play around with positioning and using tin foil paper to try and direction some of the RF signal. Did end up getting 4 out of 5 bar according to win 7. Not really sure what the benefit of 5Ghz beside the interference from many 2.4Ghz device in my neighborhood. Bandwidth wise, i didn't see any improvement.
Overall Review: Note, I use my wifi router as access point only. I have another device that provide DHCP, firewalling, etc... basically use this router for wireless only.
Works
Pros: Works well so far with my Jetway Atom base PC.
Cons: none
Feedback update, good to very good
Pros: Bought this on boxing day sale and is definitely a steal now! My main objective with this PC is to use it as HTPC. I expect it to play movies in 720p and able to stream Slingbox TV. I had trouble with Slingbox when I had only 2gb ram, but now I upgraded to 4gb and it seems to be streaming good! I am streaming this with wireless G before and I also recently upgrade to wireless N 2.4GHz. So a mixture of ram and network upgrade did it for me! very small and uses very little power! Very happy so far....
Cons: Noise, it would be nice to be fanless like the Asus alternative, but the price tag is much higher... Build in wireless nic didn't work well for me.... Got a $15buck bekin and works great. Remote is good for turning the PC on/off only, quit useless beside that.
Overall Review: Good buy overall. i dont plan to install AV and window update as it will eventually slow it way down.... no advisable to everyone, but that's what I am doing!
