Nice card

HighPoint RocketRAID 2640X4 SGL PCI-Express x4 SATA / SAS Controller Card
HighPoint RocketRAID 2640X4 SGL PCI-Express x4 SATA / SAS Controller Card

Pros: Work perfectly in PCI-E 16x slot on board who have no PCI-E 4x slot. DG41RQ and a Hp Pavillon with a socket AM2 board see the card on first boot without hitch. The RoacketRaid bios work perfectly and I mounted Raid 1 on a breeze with Western Digital Raid edition 500GB drives.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Be prepared when you looking to do raid 1 setup on a existing working computer. Install first the card on the computer and install driver. Do a backup on a third drive or don't connect this drive on the rocketraid card to preserve the data. Install the two hd to create the raid 1 array. Note these drives will be erased by the Rocketraid utility. Once finished, Clone the secured drive on the raid 1 drive with a cloning utility.

Perfect fit in my Macbook Pro early 2008

SAMSUNG 840 Series 2.5" 250GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TD250BW
SAMSUNG 840 Series 2.5" 250GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TD250BW

Pros: Read speed is very nice on Sata 1 with this drive. Near 155MB/Sec is way better than any 2,5" HD. Write speed is similare. This drive is supposed to be slower on wirte than Sandforce, Samsung 830 and Crucial M4 drives on sata 2 and 3. However on Sata 1, the drive is plenty fast on write and fit perfltly on older computer like my MB Pro early 2008. Should fit nicely on many other laptops with sata 1.

Cons: Not free as a kiss from my girlfriend

Overall Review: This is aslo a great drive to install Steam game. Load plenty fast on sata 2 port from my Asrock B75-GL. Alice Return Madness and Metro 2033 load fast as crazy!!!

Fair compatibily

CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Laptop Memory Model VS4GSDSKIT800D2
CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Laptop Memory Model VS4GSDSKIT800D2

Pros: Work in many pc and mac laptop without a problem. I never have a problem before with Corsair for the ram.

Cons: Compatible with iMac early and late 2006. Not compatible with the 2007 models with only one stick or in dual channel configuration. You could add one of these module with a another one know compatible with those iMac's. I prefer to avoid mixing memory modules when I buy dual channel kit to upgrade these 2007 iMac machines.

Costly ram but fit on board with only 2 ram slots

Patriot Gamer Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model PGS28G6400ELK
Patriot Gamer Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model PGS28G6400ELK

Pros: I buy this ram to fit on a socket 775 intel mainboard with only 2 ram slot. The Intel DG41RQ see all the ram on the first boot and work perfectly. SBS2008 R8 see all the 8Go and is now fast of operation and have now 45% of ram free with all services loaded.

Cons: Could be less costly.

Work in every device

PNY Optima 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 (PC 2700) Laptop Memory Model MN1024SD1-333

Pros: Run perfectly in Thinkpad R51, Acer Aspire 3000 series, Apple iBook G4 for me. No stick on 4 was defect. Price is below 40$ which is ok.

Cons: None
