Awesome, but full of frustration
Pros: Really quiet. Really nice features (HD cages, wire management). Really shiny.
Cons: Shiny surface and more expensive price means you might want P182 standard edition. Little cables dangling from random places get in the way, especially if you have a large motherboard and heat sink. Instructions are vague and it'll take you at least 10 hours to get it set up the way you want. The snake light is useless because you have to plug/unplug to turn on/off.
Overall Review: Here are some tips to avoid frustration: - Pay attention to where the case contacts the sides. This will help you route the wires. - Plug in all the modular cables to your PSU before installing it. - Don't even think about using the upper HD cage. Remove it and save yourself headaches. The lower one is more than enough. - If you've got a big motherboard, plug in every possible cable before attempting to install video card(s), etc.
not impressed - it's okay
Pros: Everything's removable Drive bays have rubber connections (reduce vibration) Cheap for a rackmount case
Cons: Noisy Flexible bottom (be careful carrying it) Instructions lack detail about the front panel cables
Overall Review: I wish you could mount the intake fan behind the hard drives, to reduce noise. Also, I lined my case with damping material - didn't help much.
doesn't work
Pros: seemeed like a good idea
Cons: Does not work - at least not with the intended drive. If I had to do it again, I'd choose one with a separate power connection that looks more sophisticated.
Works flawlessly so far
Pros: 32 foot cable, cheap, active extension cable
Cons: None yet.
Overall Review: This works with a 12 port powered hub across the room with multiple peripherals (iPhone, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, wireless gamepad). I got it because wireless capabilities on these devices were junk. Did not disappoint.
iCharge port does not have connectivity
Pros: Has 13 ports. Hi-speed. Works across 32 foot cable!
Cons: iCharge port does not connect to the computer. It's just a charge port. Expensive compared to other HUBs.
Overall Review: I probably would not have bought this - there are many cheaper ones - had I know the iCharge port does not connect through to the computer and only provides power.
not 'silent'
Pros: Large heatsink that isn't wider than the card Cools better than stock cooler Fan speed controller included
Cons: General: - The fan guard rattles (so I took it off) - The fans aren't quieter than the stock heatsink even on the lowest setting Related to HD6870: - Need a Dremel tool to install a heatsink on the FET - not designed for it - Longer than the card because the GPU is centered differently
Overall Review: If you have a normal sized case, I recommend looking into different coolers. I bought this specifically to fit in a lower profile case.
