Geforce 690 you complete me!

EVGA GeForce GTX 690 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 04G-P4-2690-KR
EVGA GeForce GTX 690 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 04G-P4-2690-KR

Pros: Fastest GPU in the world, AND it runs really quietly even during intense gaming! Amazing quality, easy installation, and can game with any and every setting in nvidia control panel maxed out and gaming is smooth and flawless as can be!

Cons: NONE! Yeah, you read right...No cons!!!

Overall Review: I am so happy with this card right now! I built an i7 3820 with the best of everything except I used a Geforce 470 until budget allowed a better card. I was not happy with the build due to poor gaming and frequent game crashes. I was beginning to worry about the stability of my new system until I installed the 690; now I am elated with my NEW system. By the way, I did not even know there was such a thing as "multi-gpu 64x csaa antiliasing" until now and it looks awesome!

I guess I got one of the bad pairs...

Creative GigaWorks T20W Series II 28 Watts RMS 2.0 Speaker
Creative GigaWorks T20W Series II 28 Watts RMS 2.0 Speaker

Pros: none as of yet...they came defective.

Cons: defective...loud buzzing and cracking noise coming from left speaker...had to RMA.

Buy it!

ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 1ms (GTG) 144Hz DVI-D HDMI DisplayPort Built-in Speakers Asus Eye Care with Ultra Low-Blue Light & Flicker-Free Backlit LED NVIDIA 3D Gaming Monitor
ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 1ms (GTG) 144Hz DVI-D HDMI DisplayPort Built-in Speakers Asus Eye Care with Ultra Low-Blue Light & Flicker-Free Backlit LED NVIDIA 3D Gaming Monitor

Pros: I love this monitor! If you've never gamed at higher frame rates you will be amazed and will never be able to play on a 60hz lcd again. The screen contrast is the best I've had in a monitor and results in a sharp, crisp picture for this resolution and at this size. If you have a fast rig you will really notice the 1 ms timing as it is soooo smooth! I also had NO DEAD Pixels! With an i7 3820 and gtx 690, I noticed that the 27" had screen delays that were gone with the vg248qe. This monitor gives me the best gaming experience ever! The stand is great too! Oh yeah, the prices is great too.

Cons: You kidding...none.

Overall Review: I bought the vg278he first and after playing on it for a few months I was just too unhappy with the resolution at 27" as it looked horrible to me. From 24" to 27" my games took a real hit in visual quality. Also, 27" was just too big for fast paced fps type games and made me feel motion sickness if sitting too close. 24" is the perfect size for gaming in my opinion. I buy tons of computer hardware and

144Hz great, 1080p @ 27" not great...

ASUS VG278HE 27" 1920 x 1080 144 Hz HDMI , D-Sub, Dual-link DVI-D (Support NVIDIA 3D Vision) Built-in Speakers LCD Monitor
ASUS VG278HE 27" 1920 x 1080 144 Hz HDMI , D-Sub, Dual-link DVI-D (Support NVIDIA 3D Vision) Built-in Speakers LCD Monitor

Pros: Great contrast and nice bright colors after careful calibration. 144Hz is nice, though really no better than 120Hz. Height adjustment is really convenient. Pretty sturdy stand and no dead pixels--even though this monitor is sold with a zero dead pixel or you can exchange policy which is awesome Comes with ddvi cable that is required to run the increased refresh rate.

Cons: I hate to say it, but the resolution is very disappointing! 1080P @ 27" is just too fuzzy for me. I'm often reminded of the old dot matrix printers because the image is that poor; especially with text. Also, sharpness can only be adjusted in jumps of 10x (10, 20, 30,...100) which does not allow fine tuning. I don't know why they did this but it feels very limiting. Color uniformity is also a big con and you are likely to see some color distortion with blue.

Overall Review: Compared to my Asus 24" there is a complete loss of "wow" factor graphics wise. I never find myself impressed with how sharp and focused in-game objects and/or textures look. However, gaming at the high resolution is amazing and I notice that I can see things such as bullets and bullet tracers, and grenades, etc. coming at me and whizzing past me in a way that I had never even known was possible. At 60Hz, I never realized how much I was missing. It truly enhances 1st person shooters to a remarkable level. I could NEVER go back to 60Hz. I was ready to RMA this monitor the first night, but there really is no better alternative at this time. There is no 27" 120Hz with a better resolution. Until 1440P 27" LCDs are available with 120Hz or higher this is what one has to settle with.

best micro-atx gaming case

LIAN LI PC-V354B Black Aluminum Micro ATX Mini Tower Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-V354B Black Aluminum Micro ATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: It's a Lian Li. Light weight. Pretty well designed. Definite leader in quality. After removing HDD cages, ANY size gpu's will fit with ease. Enough clearance for any cpu air cooler. Enough room for liquid cooling and two gpu's without being too packed.

Cons: Cable for front fans cannot reach rear fan controller; side panels fit poorly and are not flush at corners allowing gaps. Had hard time fitting intel socket 2011 liquid cooling due to poor placement of rear fan mounting holes--same for top fan. I had to mount to bottom front fan.

Overall Review: Top fan DOES NOT need to be removed to install optical drive...as others have complained...just remove the drive tray (4 screws). Actually reading the instructions would have helped people with that one! Also, the optical drive must be lowered into the tray rather than pushed through the back of the tray--as it wont fit that way...another reason to follow directions.

Relief...it works fine after all

LG Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model UH12LS28 OEM LightScribe Support
LG Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model UH12LS28 OEM LightScribe Support

Pros: Looks great compared to most drives. My OEM drive came with sata cable, molex to sata power adapter, and most importantly, it came with blu-ray decoding software. Powerdvd9 came with it...not a fan of the software but it works.

Cons: Powerdvd12 is out now so obviously 9 is pretty old.

Overall Review: IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ!!! Turn OFF any edge enhancing options in your HDTV menu and/or in your CCC for ATI or Nvidia control panel. These settings will result in terrible blu ray image quality. I was going to start an RMA for this drive until I remembered reading about this issue elsewhere. Turned the setting off in the expert menu for my LG 50" plasma AND in my catalyst control center for my ATI gpu and instantly had a nice sharp picture. Am now very happy and can rest my OCD.
