Great mouse, but some things you should know....

Logitech G5 7 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB Wired Laser 2000 dpi Mouse
Logitech G5 7 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB Wired Laser 2000 dpi Mouse

Pros: Awesome mouse! High resolution, 2000dpi, sensitivity switching on the fly, and it's got a friggin laserbeam in it! I liked the look of the mouse, but I suppose that is up to the individual. This will look awesome next to my Logitech G11 keyboard. Added side button was a must before I purchased the G5. Overall fit and feel is the same as the MX500 that I had before it. Weights might be sort of gimmicky, but I appreciate the ability to customize the experience in any way possible. Software works good once you figure it out. (Download the newest version don't use the included CD, might be the source of some peoples problems?)

Cons: It is tedious to set up at first, getting the sensitivity to work the way you want it exactly. Buttons have a slightly tacky feel instead of the MX5XX models "clicky" feel. Blue and black color scheme is not just paint, it is an actual texture which resembles the top of cinnamon rolls you pop in the oven lol! This might turn some people off, but it is fine with me. Does NOT work in PS/2 port, at least on my machine. Windows doesn't even recognize it until you plug it into USB. Braided cable seems like an unnecessary touch. It's as if a string is coming out of your mouse instead of a cord. I would have preferred the traditional black cable, but black braided chord is OK.

Overall Review: If you like the MX500 or the MX518 this mouse will feel very similar (except for the surface texture.) If you like customization you will like this mouse. If your setup is blue and black like mine is going to be, this will fit right in aesthetically. Make sure you download the newest version of the software for this mouse and toss the included disk. I haven't had most of the problems other reviewers have so far, the weights work fine if you place them in the holder securely, the texture of the surface really isn't all that bad, and my hands are the right size for the mouse and it is exactly the same dimensions as the MX5xx series mice. Make sure you tweak the settings to your liking before getting fed up and returning it.

Great keyboard but don't go on looks alone.

Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard
Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard

Pros: Awesome looks, bright blue lights (not too bright though), Macro keys if your into that sort of thing., The keys are quiet and smooth they have a good tactile feel. Windows key disable switch is an excellent idea!

Cons: Actual key space is tiny and cramped compared to my logitech elite keyboard this replaced. Key spacing is similar to a large laptop because everything is squished together to fit. USB ports are not 2.0! G keys are not a feature I was really interested in, but RTS players, and heavy macro users will probably love them. So far the media keys do not function the same way they did in my elite keyboard, there was no support for them (assigning functions to the keys) included in the software.

Overall Review: This keyboard looks great! Some especially those with larger hands might find the key placement cramped (I frequently have difficulty finding and pressing the left control key because the keys are closer together than I am used to.) It probably just takes some getting used to considering I have used basically the same single keyboard for nearly 4 years. The keyboard did not work in my PS/2 port and that was a bummer for me, but you may think it's OK because the keyboard has 2 built in ports right? WRONG! These are USB 1.1 which makes them useful only for very few PC peripherals. Don't get me wrong I'm a long time logitech fan, but I really felt the quality on this product could have been better.

Newegg.com Beanie Black with white out line Logo
Newegg.com Beanie Black with white out line Logo

Pros: -Keeps my head toasty. -Stylish -Comfy -Protects against snowballs

Cons: -Doesn't protect against snowballs thrown directly at the face. :/ -I didn't get 2 of them by accident.

Overall Review: Newegg is awesomesauce.

StarTech ECESATA1 1 Port Slim ExpressCard 34mm eSATA II Controller Adapter Card
StarTech ECESATA1 1 Port Slim ExpressCard 34mm eSATA II Controller Adapter Card

Pros: -Fits well in my Asus U20A. (not perfectly.) -Works as advertised in both Windows 7 and Ubuntu without driver CD. -Doesn't stick out nearly as much as most express card accessories do which is very nice.

Cons: -Sticks out about 1mm from the side of my Asus laptop. -You need to connect the eSata cable BEFORE putting the card in my laptop, otherwise it just clicks and pops out with the pressure. (Perhaps my cable is just a little ill fitting?) These two things are the reason for the lack of 5 eggs.

Overall Review: I would like to find an eSATA device that doesn't require a power cord or USB connection. I hate having multiple cables running just for an external hard drive enclosure! This is a good upgrade for a laptop if you plan on using external hard drives and your computer doesn't have an eSATA port.

I don't actually have 74 different kinds of memory cards...

Rosewill RCR-IC002 - 74-in-1 Internal Card Reader with USB 2.0 Ports & Extra Silver Face Plate - Fits 3.5" Drive Bay
Rosewill RCR-IC002 - 74-in-1 Internal Card Reader with USB 2.0 Ports & Extra Silver Face Plate - Fits 3.5" Drive Bay

Pros: -Allows one to plug almost any memory card you can possibly have laying around into your computer easily. -Bright blue LED light (my case is entirely lit up with blue light though so it fit right in.) -Handy dandy USB plug on the front of your case. -Long cord for plugging in to your motherboard, but some locations may be out of reach.

Cons: -Had to make my lazy self open the case to install it. -Silver faceplate is fugly but that's just my opinion. (and it comes with the black one on.) -Has an awkward fit in an Acer 900 case but again that might be my fault. (it works) -Some of the slots are oriented upside down, the different orientations makes things confusing especially in the dark, some may be less skilled at finding holes in the dark as I am.

Overall Review: I got two of these (for two different machines of course) and haven't had a problem out of either one for a month now.

Excellent motherboard for building on the cheap.

MSI 870-G45 AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI 870-G45 AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: This board is the second best I have ever used. It has an excellent bang for the buck ratio. -Great features -Well thought out layout -Plenty of room for updatability. -BIOS is awesome -VERY EASY TO OVERCLOCK (see other thoughts) -Built in audio is good. -Plenty of USB connections -"Millitary class components" sounds uber cool. -It's prettyful

Cons: -ONE SATA cable? For serious? -Maximum speed RAM is 1333mhz. Anything more is only once you have overclocked the 1333 sticks... -ONE IDE cable, and that's all the cables. -Only one "x16" slot, but it's cheap so they have to save money somewhere.

Overall Review: Don't install the bloatware that comes on the driver CD. I recommend just getting everything from the MSI site. (Sans bloatware.) If you have plenty of extra cables then this board is a great value. Overclocking is easily accomplished by changing one BIOS setting and flipping a switch. Like for reals.
