Most Critical Review

Product is Faulty with bad QA

ASUS 27" 1440P Gaming Monitor (MG279Q) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 178° Viewing, FreeSync
ASUS 27" 1440P Gaming Monitor (MG279Q) - QHD (2560 x 1440), 178° Viewing, FreeSync

Pros: - 144hz, 1440p, IPS screen - Freesync with a decent range - Beautiful Colors

Cons: - I wrote a review originally and mentioned I would update it once I received my replacement monitor. You cannot edit Newegg reivews so I have delete it and reposted. - The first monitor I received had a defect in the protective screen of the monitor. A tab of it was above the bezel in the top left hand corner of the monitor. This issue was not caused by shipping/physical damage, but occurred during manufacturing. It also had bad backlight bleed around all edges. I returned this monitor. - The replacement monitor has backlight bleed in bottom right corner that also exacerbates bad IPS glow on the righthand side of the monitor that is visible even without a black background. - Neweggs return policy is very unhelpful. I live on the east coast and they refuse to give anything other than ground shipping labels for returned items, and they also refuse to send advanced replacements even after multiple faulty products are sent. It takes a week (5-6 business days) just to ship the faulty product back, a day or more to process the return, then days to ship the replacement product. In a best case scenario, where you send the faulty product back on a Monday, the fastest return they can do is 9 days. And that's after bumping your replacement to overnight shipping. By the time I get my third monitor it would be nearing a month since my original purchase. - With the quality of these monitors you could request returns until the cows come home and never get a good quality replacement. And If you did hit the lottery It could also take well over a month with how slow the replacement process is. - I would highly recommend against purchasing this monitor in general because of the QA issues, but if you do make sure to buy it from a retailer with a better return policy, as you will likely have to fish for a suitable working monitor - ASUS provides rapid replacement of this monitor for up to 3 years as advertised on this product, but will only send out refurbished monitors as replacements not new. This is also a gamble but at least its a fast gamble.

Trackpad Broken

GIGABYTE Aero 14Wv7-BK4 14.0" QHD IPS Quad Core Intel Core i7-7700HQ (2.80 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 512 GB M.2 SATA SSD 16 GB Memory Windows 10 Home 64-Bit Gaming Laptop (Black)
GIGABYTE Aero 14Wv7-BK4 14.0" QHD IPS Quad Core Intel Core i7-7700HQ (2.80 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 512 GB M.2 SATA SSD 16 GB Memory Windows 10 Home 64-Bit Gaming Laptop (Black)

Pros: - Slim design - Good Screen - Large Battery - Lots of horse power

Cons: - Trackpad arrived broken/unresponsive. Updated drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, verified mouse is recognized in the BIOS ect. After a quick google search this seems to be a known defect with Aero 14 units. Leaving on overseas trip next week and there is no way a replacement laptop will come in time to replace this faulty unit. Very frustrating. - System fans ramp up at random times without even taxing the GPU/CPU. System seems to automatically runs software in the background to keep the Nvidia GPU from falling asleep which ramps the fans. Very distracting when you are just silently plugging along doing non intensive workloads.

Overall Review: - Would not recommend this product if you need a working product without dealing with Newegg return policy.
