Perfect

OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3G1600LV6GK
OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3G1600LV6GK

Pros: Runs at its rated speeds and timings without a hitch. Absolutely no problems when paired with an eVGA X58 board. Lifetime warranty.

Cons: Just wish it was DDR3-2000, that is all :)

Overall Review: The Corsair Dominator 6GB DDR3-1600 kit has the exact same speed, timings, and voltage but costs over $50 more.

dissapointed

MSI P45 Neo3-FR LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI P45 Neo3-FR LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Cheap and did not come DOA. Bios is easy to navigate with decent overclocking options, BUT see below

Cons: Overclocking an E8400 to 4.0ghz isn't possible for this board. Oh, it'll do it but then randomly turn off in windows or even just the bios. It doesn't give a BSOD, it just turns off. Stuck the video card, CPU, and ram in my trusty eVga 680i and it worked just fine.

Overall Review: I'm sure the board is fine if you're not into overclocking. I blame the terrible OC performance of this board to its 2 phase power design. If you want to OC, don't get anything less than a 8 phase power design, 16 is even better.

screw hole not threaded correctly

ZALMAN ZM-CS4A Socket 1366 Clip Support Kit for CNPS9500/9700
ZALMAN ZM-CS4A Socket 1366 Clip Support Kit for CNPS9500/9700

Pros: meh

Cons: one screw hole was not threaded correctly so that screws wouldn't screw in. 2 of the other screw holes would allow a screw to get screw-ed in but not all the way and once they were in they wouldn't come out.

Overall Review: 5 Eggs for newegg, they are sending me out a new one and hopefully that will work.

good but not great

Gyration GYM2100NA 1 x Wheel 2.4GHz RF Air Mouse
Gyration GYM2100NA 1 x Wheel 2.4GHz RF Air Mouse

Pros: The "air mouse" functionality is surprisingly easy to use and accurate. Can be used like a normal mouse on a mousepad as well. Great range, no problems with dropping a signal.

Cons: The air mouse can sometimes become unresponsive and needs a "reboot" by flipping the on/off switch. It happens to me everytime if I hold down the air mouse trigger and the right mouse button at the same time for 10-15 seconds. I was hoping to use this on a HTPC that I also use for gaming (with a mousepad) and it is sorely lacking as a gaming mouse. For example, Sniping in COD4 is VERY difficult because the mouse lacks the extreme accuracy a normal gaming mouse has (Like the Logitech G7). Tiny movements of the mouse don't translate into tiny movement on screen very well. Also, the lazer/sensor that is normally in the MIDDLE of a mouse is located at the top left (when looking at the bottom of the mouse) which really threw me off.

Overall Review: In summary.... This thing is fine for simple point and click use. The air mouse functionality works great. Lacks the accuracy and feel of a gaming mouse. Completely unusable as a gaming mouse for me. I gave it 4 stars because it works fine for its intended use.

Good, but can't handle even a midl overclock.

ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Simple layout, works out the of box. Running at stock settings is no problem at all.

Cons: I know this board is not for overclocking, but it does have some overclocking features like changing the FSB, CPU Multi, and CPU voltage. You can also change the NB/SB voltages. I paired this board with a E5200 which I know will do at least 3Ghz at the stock voltage. Setting the FSB to 300 and CPU Multi to 10 resulted in a successful post at 3Ghz, but it freezes as soon as windows loads. Increasing voltages did not help at all. I question if this board could handle a 1333Mhz FSB CPU and it definitely can't handle 1600Mhz FSB even after increasing the voltages. False marketing by Asus in my mind, insinuating that this board can go anywhere close to 1600Mhz FSB. It can't.

Overall Review: Don't expect a lot and you won't be dissapionted. In my mind this board is one step up from the cheapest socket 775 board in that it probably has more reliability and longevity, while having about the same featureset as a cheaper board.

An absolute must!

XIGMATEK ACK-I7751 Retention Bracket
XIGMATEK ACK-I7751 Retention Bracket

Pros: Not only does this retention bracket increase thermal performance of the CPU Heatsink, it secures heavy heat sinks for shipping a pre-built system. Normal push-pin mounted heatsinks tend to fall off while the shipper plays football and soccer with the package.

Cons: I installed this bracket on many systems- out of all of them I had only 1 problem. One time the threading was stripped so the screws couldn't screw in. Had to replace it.
