Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 775 65W None Integrated Graphics Processor - BX80570E8400
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 775 65W None Integrated Graphics Processor - BX80570E8400

Pros: Very fast. The 6mb L2 Cache helps alot with games. The stock speed combined with the price is STEAL. It overclocks like it was underclocked at the factory and is designed for a 3.6Ghz speed as stock.

Cons: None. See other Thoughts.

Overall Review: You need to do alittle research about the motherboard for this processor. The one who gave this processor 3 stars because they were too amateur to spend 15 minutes researching their motherboard's bios history, and whether or not there is a bio update to run Wolfdales. This processor is brand spankin new. It is up to the end-user to make the home for it, not the otherway around.

Update, my true review.

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400

Pros: Ram worked fine at 2.1v, 5-5-5-12, and DDR2-960 speeds. I was running a 400 FSB on my E8400 with a 5:6 multiplier for fun and ram was running 480mhz. Played games, benched, and never experienced a single crash or bsod of any kind. After 3 weeks I put it back to 1:1 and have the FSB 425mhz along with the ram at 4-5-4-12 timings for now.

Cons: Luck of the draw?

Overall Review: From my personal experience this ram is very overclockable and stays cool. Used in a GA-x38-DS4 motherboard if that is wondered by anyone. Never had any issues using this ram at 2.1v without active cooling.

Solid stable board.

GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Has great layout for big video cards. 8 rear usb is nice. 6 internal sata is nice, and the included E-Sata bracket welcomed. The cooling is efficient, and well made. The overall features of the mobo is worth the price. Comes with true dualbios, not virtual dual bios. So you have 2 physical bios chips on here for added security when flashing. The northbridge HS is placed well enough even a wide zalman 9700 LED can fit without any issues. This board supports wolfdales, like my e8400, out of box without any bios flashing required.

Cons: none

Overall Review: I am still testing, but this is oced the e8400 to 3.6ghz out of box stable on default bios, F1. I was able to, without any hassle, raise the XMS2 DDR2-800 from 1.8v to 2.0v, set to 2.00B for 1:1, and run OCCT, p95, and Orthos overnight stable. I plan to go much higher. Overall this board is fantastic. It has all the features i could want for the near future, and is worth the price. I would build using this board again.

GIGABYTE GA-M61PM-S2 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Boots up fine out of the box. Perfectly stable. Loads of features. About every highend option out there.

Cons: Not for overclockers but it is for gamers. It provides everything for a gaming system except SLI which isnt the best route anyhow.

Overall Review: Setup: AM2 3800+ 2.4ghz, 2gb Corsair XMS2 PC5400, WD 160gb Sata HDD, Sapphire 1900GT.
