Great drive
Pros: Have two of them, both from Newegg. This drive is very quiet and the price (when with MIR) is unbelievable for such a huge capacity. I am pretty sure that this drive generates less noise than WD Green, which is famous for its quietness. I have had Seagate drives, WD Blue, WD Green, Hatachi 7K2000 drives etc., this makes least noise, you'll never hear it working if you keep your case close.
Cons: Not very fast. 5K3000 serious, in terms of 4K IOPS tested with HD Tune, is about 60%-70% performance of my 7K2000 2TB drive. But who cares? the purpose of this drive is quietness, power efficiency, and capacity. It is doing its job perfectly.
Overall Review: The proper subsidiary storage drive for SSD, or other fast drives like 7K3000, WD Caviar Black etc.
Overall pretty good, but Bad MIR
Pros: Till now it is working very stable, I am happy caz this board w/ CPU only have a heatsink on it, without a fan, it is very quiet. Also the board is small enough to fit in those beautiful mini size computer cases.
Cons: Not much on hardware, but the MIR is pretty bad. I purchased this with ECS Geforce 8400GS video card supposed to get $18 on MB and $10 on VC, but after sent all required documents, it is about 10 weeks now, I got no email confirmation, don't know where to check status, and I visited ECS official site, there is no customer service information for MIRs. Who should I contact?
Overall Review: Deal is okay w/o MIR, but with MIR this combo is among best in similar product, if you get the MIR.
Not a bit satisfied
Pros: Said to accept a great variaty of cards
Cons: Never worked constantly. Or simply, almost never worked. It only works occasionally, at a frequency of about 3 or 4 weeks out of a year period. which means during the 2 years ownership it showed up for about 2 month, and I only had a chance to use it once.
Overall Review: Almost whenever I need it, it doesn't show up in windows. I hope rosewill could design some kind of driver software to make this thing work more steadily
large capacity, cheap, but slow
Pros: Very good price for the capacity.
Cons: First, it is slow. Tested it on my EVGA X58 and SONY Z39 laptop USB ports with HD Tune, results yield a reading speed below 15MB/s, write is between 3~4MB/s.......miserable..... In addition, It is a little fragile. It feels like I can twist it without much force, and at the same time it makes slight plastic rubbing noise. Also I suspect the little handle, which pushes the USB connection out, could break some day in future.
Overall Review: For the price, (didn't get the MIR yet, but it is $25 after rebate.) it is a good product. Reading speed about 14MB/s is acceptable, write is just too slow. For Patriot brand, I expected more than this.
Amazing
Pros: Had these sticks for about 3 hours, they are amazing. Worked on my EVGA X58 first run without any problem. Then I tried frequency 1333 at 8-8-8-24 at 1.6v (which is slightly lower than suggested 1.65v), as expected no problem. After several tries, I overclocked it to 1857MHz, with auto latency set by BIOS to 11-12-12-31, and runs stable. Windows 7 rated my memory performance 7.9, that's my first full score ever seen on win 7. I was pretty shocked. Everest benchmark was very high too.
Cons: nothing yet
Overall Review: Great memory, as the title mentioned, ultra stable, they are ultra stable, but i think corsair forgot to put "ultra speed" along with it.
Good for the price, but loud
Pros: Cames in a day after purchase, newegg shipping is always super fast. Card works fine, I borrowed an ATI 5850 1G, when play burn zombie burn game it pops out an error, with this card it become playable.
Cons: it is loud. when full speed, the fan noise is okay. but when idle, the noise level didn't seem to turn down at all. I wonder if there is a fan speed control?
Overall Review: don't like the noise. but still Gigabyte is trustworthy.
