It's a Tab!

SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet - Metallic Gray NVIDIA Tegra 2 1.00GHz 10.1" Wide XGA 1GB Memory 16GB Storage NVIDIA ULP GeForce
SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tablet - Metallic Gray NVIDIA Tegra 2 1.00GHz 10.1" Wide XGA 1GB Memory 16GB Storage NVIDIA ULP GeForce

Pros: Does what a tab is supposed to do, that is offer portability, be very light weight, and feel great to hold. I put my eBooks for college on here and now don't have a giant backpack like other students do. It's great for surfing the internet at random points as well. What really sold me is the battery life, getting about 8 hours of "hard" usage, which means it lasts over a week of normal usage for me.

Cons: The android OS (3.1) is a bit finicky at times. I've been having an issue where the whole tablet will lock up for 10-30 seconds. I've also been having issues with the browser closing for no apparent reason other than it errored out. I'm sure they will fix these issues, and if not I plan on flashing a custom rom to it anyways to improve performance. Also, I hate the proprietary charger. The cable is short as hell so don't plan on charging and using at the same time. Also, you can't charge it while you are data synced to your computer. This is also stupid, as every other device out there that isn't a tablet nowadays can charge through a USB port. I know it's a marketing gimick, but seriously get with the times and just allow standard USB chargers to work.

Overall Review: IDK why people complain about "less apps than apple," as all the essentials are there and then some. It's the same app store as the phone so you know there is a great baseline already. Also, the lack of expansion ports is kind of frustrating, but you don't need them. I'd rather have a light weight thin easy to hold tablet than an hdmi port (thats why I have a PS3 and a computer) or an SD port. The storage problem is remedied by the soon to be released AllShare app from Samsung that lets you stream media on your home network (and potentially over any internet connection if you set it up properly). You can also access the file system when connecting it to your computer (your PC will treat it as a modem).

First Impressions are great, but...

Corsair Vengeance K60 Black/Metal USB Wired Gaming Performance, FPS Mechanical Keyboard
Corsair Vengeance K60 Black/Metal USB Wired Gaming Performance, FPS Mechanical Keyboard

Pros: When I first got the keyboard I was extremely impressed with what appeared to be attention to detail. However, after a lot of use a lot of quirks started creeping in...

Cons: The membrane keys for the esc, F keys, and the six pack are very annoying. I thought I would be able to handle it, but it feels VERY awkward going from the smooth key presses of the mechanical keys to pushing these buttons. It is very annoying in SC2 when you are cancelling units or using the F keys for saved positions. Completely unacceptable. The shift keys are messed up. They do not actuate the same as all the other mechanical keys, and as such they feel like membrane keys. They do not push down as far as other keys like Ctrl does. Mine feels "sticky" even. The S key is already squeaking when pressed, and it feels like the switch is likely to break soon already. I've only been using it a day, and this is unacceptable. The space bar also makes a clicking sound unlike any of the other keys, this is really annoying.

Overall Review: Overall, the switches for all of the keys are not consistent. Some keys depress differently than the others. This is VERY annoying and distracts from gameplay. The shift key is the main culprit, because it doesn't depress as far as the other keys. Even some of the main keys are different than each other. I will likely be refunding this keyboard. While it was a decent first attempt, the lack of a consistent activation force bothers me way too much for a keyboard that costs so much. Also, the marketting behind this is so silly. Pictures first showed the red keys having symbols on them, and now they don't. In addition, it really isn't said anywhere that this is a MOSTLY mechanical keyboard with some membrane keys. I thought I would be able to cope with the membrane keys, but they feel way too different than the red switches that it throws you off in game.

Performs just how it looks: gimicky

AZIO KB588U Levetron Mech4 Mechanical Keyboard
AZIO KB588U Levetron Mech4 Mechanical Keyboard

Pros: The only thing I can think of is it being sturdy.

Cons: Where to begin? I'll start with the software. I downloaded the latest version (1.5) from the Azio website and proceeded to try and create a Macro. It's less than intuitive, but I had one mapped out. Unfortunately when I hit save, the program crashed. Cool, so the macro aspect of this keyboard is worthless. I was going to try and let this keyboard grow on me, but this was an instant deal breaker. I immediately repackaged it after this. The choice of enter / backspace keys is a joke. Who really can use a small backspace like that? I thought I could get used to it, but on a $110 keyboard it really hurts it. Key activations are very inconsistent. I immediately could tell that my 'A' key was not as stiff as the others and it sounded like it. Typing on this keyboard is a chore.

Overall Review: The modularity is really a gimick. If you look at it, you can tell having the numpad on adds a TON of length compared to a traditional keyboard that has the numpad attached. The rail for the six pack of macro keys also covers up the number keys, not really sure how anyone can use these reliably. I could have swore there were media keys because of the volume knob. There actually aren't any which is a huge negative in a keyboard for me (my fault for assuming). I have a Corsair K60 that I am comparing this too (that has mx reds), and the keys are very stiff. I know blacks are supposed to be stiffer, but these are VERY stiff to the point of hurting your fingers. The key travel length is also very shallow to the point where you might not even recognize that you are hitting a key.

Disappointing

Stargate Sg-1 F-302 Strategic Space Fighter Interceptor Replica
Stargate Sg-1 F-302 Strategic Space Fighter Interceptor Replica

Pros: Neat item for fans of SG-1.

Cons: Flimsy as all hell. It came out of the package and one of the top fins instantly snapped with no pressure applied to it. It will easily be re-glued on, but I am extremely angry. I took it out of the package to inspect it and barely grazed a fin on the top and it dislodged. Then, I gave it to my brother for x-mas and it completely fell off. He wanted me to try to return it and get a new one sent out, but it wouldn't be worth the shipping hastle so instead he's just going to reglue it on. Still, extremely frustrating giving a gift and have it instantly break due to poor craftsmanship. Also, it's kind of a silly item anyways as there isn't much "detail" in it anyways as it likes to advertise. It almost feels like it's just a random spaceship model with F-302 slapped on to get Stargate enthusiast to drop a lot of money on.

Overall Review: As I stated, the craftsmanship is extremely flimsy. I was SUPER careful with it and a slight glance of one of the fins on the top of it (above the cockpit) dislodged the fin from whatever glue was used for it. It's not really the fault of the seller, but people should know what they are buying when they see this. It seems cool until you realize it's poorly made and has the potential to break from a slight breeze.

Awesome

COOLER MASTER SGS-6000-KHM-1-GP HS-M Battle Pad SSK Alloy Coated Pro Gaming Surface
COOLER MASTER SGS-6000-KHM-1-GP HS-M Battle Pad SSK Alloy Coated Pro Gaming Surface

Pros: Awesome. This is my first "gaming pad" and I got it for free through a gift card. The surface is super durable, and the size is great. My mouse movements feel so much smoother when compared to a normal mouse pad. The packaging it comes in as well is very impressive to say the least. It's very rigid as well.

Cons: The top surface is a little bit "sticky" but I'm sure it will "break in."

Overall Review: I love the look of the design on it. Matches my storm scout case nicely. I'm using it with a deathadder with no problems.

GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Once again, made the right choice in a Gigabyte mobo. This baby makes overclocking easy. Had no issues.

Cons: Fan controls are non existent. This is a common Gigabyte issue, and it's pretty annoying not being able to control any of my fans from the bios. Guess I'll just get a fan controller. Also, can't wait for Gigabyte to switch to EFI as the standard bios is getting rather dated.

Overall Review: The black PCB looks amazing compared to the traditional Gigabyte blue.
