Working nicely
Pros: Paired this with DDR2 800 in a ASRock A780GXE mobo ("AM3 ready"). Working nicely with no problems so far. Temperatures are great at normal settings - haven't tried overclocking.
Cons: none so far.
Limited lifespan
Pros: Speed and reliability was amazing when new, particularly compared to my previous failing modem. I like the pause feature, to temporarily disable internet connectivity when away or needing to lock down the network for a while without unplugging everything.
Cons: Almost exactly one year after purchase, this unit is showing increasing pockets of downtime. If it's anything like my last modem, this will get worse until it fails, but I might have a few months left if I'm patient with the downtime (I'm not, I'll be buying a new one).
Overall Review: I actually own the previous model, the SB5101 (which was $20 cheaper). It failed after a year, and only had a 1 year warranty. Not terrible, but I don't understand why cable modems fail like this. Also, my previous modem lasted 6 years while this one only lasted one. Hopefully the next modem lasts a little longer.
Working fine
Pros: Built a new, more quiet system. I haven't noticed this drive making it any louder. It's working well so far.
Cons: None yet.
Easy to build with
Pros: Rebuilt entire system. This PSU is much nicer than my last one - the wires are sleeved and cable ties are included to neatly tie up the unused connectors. It seems designed with ease of installation in mind. No shortage of connectors even if I had filled up my tower case with drives. Fan is quiet.
Cons: The sufficient supply of connectors means you need to have a spot to store the bundled up extra connectors - luckily I don't use my top drive bay so this won't block any air flow. This might be a problem in a compact case.
Working nicely
Pros: Rebuilt entire system, and this MB is working very well. The built-in video won't win any benchmark comparisons with new video cards, but it works well and I have the option to get a video card later. I paired this with a Phenom II AM3 CPU and DDR2 800 memory. It has one PATA channel so you can use your old HDD or DVD drives.
Cons: This is AM3 ready, which means some of the features of AM3 aren't available, such as DDR3. I wanted to use DDR2, so this wasn't a problem for me at all.
Overall Review: The sideport memory for video seems to be taken off before the windows 32-bit memory limitation goes into effect - my 4GB memory shows up as 3.25GB as expected, so some of that non-addressable memory is being used by the video 'card'.
Cool and quiet
Pros: I should have replaced my noisy case fan a long time ago. This one is below the noise threshold of the rest of my computer (after replacing almost all of the innards), so the whole rig is now very quiet.
Cons: None found yet. It may not have sufficient air flow if you have an overclocked or otherwise hot system, but it's good for mine.
