Made it 10 years.

Pros: Lasted a long time in my opinion. No issues during it's lifetime.

Cons: Would shut down during use but this was after 10 years

Other Thoughts: Lasted longer that several other components. Had to replace after 10 years in what I would consider a "very dusty environment". (don't ask) Bought another from the same company with the same wattage. I expect to rebuild the system within the next year utilizing the same power supply, speakers, case, hard drive, Blu-ray burner, 21" monitor and fans. Replacing only the processor, RAM, mother board and video card.

Failed after a year

Pros: none

Cons: everything

Other Thoughts: Corsair sent me a CX430 to replace this so I wasn't too bitter about the whole thing.

Worked great for 6 and 1/2 years

Pros: - The 120mm fan is still quiet after 6+ years of use
- The PSU did not kill any of other components (Motherboards, HDDs, RAM, ODD, and etc)

Cons: - Chinese capacitors are used on the secondary side (NO complaint for the price I paid - $49.99 + tax in May 2009)

Other Thoughts: - Japanese capacitors are used only for the primary side (two 450v ones)

1) The PSU has been working well for last 6 and 1/2 years in my primary desktop case without an issue.

2) Recently noticed a swollen capacitor (10v 3300uf, manufactured by OST) during the course of annual dusting, and replaced with a Japanese solid capacitor. Now it has moved to the secondary PC, and being tested.

3) One of friends had the same PSU (never used since purchase), and it was not able to POST Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H. The PSU had no issues with older motherboards (GA-EP45-UD3R, GAEP45C-UD3R, GA-P67A-UD3-B3, Dell LGA 775 systems, and other). The motherboard (GA-B85M-DS3H) was verified not defective using another PSU (Corsair 750W).

The little engine that could...

Pros: Owned this PSU for 8 years (eight!!!) and I have never had an issue. My computer was on almost 24/7 for those 8 years. I started with just 3 HDD's and when I retired my faithful supply I was running 9 HDD's and 1 SSD (along with my mobo, case, etc) I thought for sure I was going to blow this little guy up running 10HDD's but it never faltered. The only reason why I upgraded was so that I could expand my internal HDD to 13 and add a separately powered graphics card. I cannot praise this PSU enough, it has outlasted every other piece of hardware in my desktop.

Cons: Very few SATA power plugs. I needed to purchase the 4 pin MOLEX to SATA adaptors (a couple bucks).

It has just one big trunk of cables and is not modular. Making pretty cable management hard.

Other Thoughts: 8 freakin years guys, pushing it to its limits.

Died at 5 years

Pros: Quite and worked well while it worked
80 plus certified

Cons: Became flakey (wouldn't full boot the computer) and eventually wouldn't boot at all. Wish it would have worked longer then 5 years, but I guess I got what i paid for.

Bad capacitor

Pros: Quiet, efficient. Looks nice on the outside.

Cons: Upon opening the unit to replace the fan (see my first review below), I discovered that additionally it has a bulging electrolytic capacitor ready to burst, complete with electrolyte leaking out the top vent. The cap is 3300 uF 16V, brand name "Su'scon" SD series.

Also some of the soldering is incredibly sloppy, though I do not think that has affected the functionality any.

Anyway I do not trust the Corsair name anymore for PSUs especially considering how many others have reported failure after a few years and my first one was DoA.

First DoA, second died at 4 years

Pros: Quiet and high efficiency.

Cons: The first one I got was DoA. The output voltages were very low and the computer would not start. After having to pay for return shipping, the next one worked. However just recently the fan broke. Somehow the bearing came apart so the blade assembly fell downward and now clacks loudly on the bottom grill. It's 4 years old. That's not that long a time. I've seen no-name OEM PSUs greatly surpass that. Disappointing. I think I will open it up and replace the fan myself since warranty is passed.

Worked great, until The Squeal

Pros: Nice stable supply from reputable company.

Cons: Started to squeal last year and has only gotten worse :( Too bad, I had great hopes for this unit. Gave it a star for number of years it lasted :)
