Difficult to seat
Pros: Performance is fine, no issues.
Cons: Very difficult to reliably seat the card due to close proximity of M2 heat sink; won't seat deeply enough for the PCI latch device to engage. Took several attempts to get it working after several attempted boots ended with the POST 5 beep code. Once that was finally working, tried to install the support, and the got the 5 beeps again, so removed it and finally got it to work again after a few more attempts.
Overall Review: Eventually worked fine, but if I breathe on it hard it will probably fail to detect again. Suspect it will work fine on motherboards where there is no clearance problems with heat sinks.
Failed after 16 months; ASUS warranty is worthless
Pros: Easy setup, worked well after installation.
Cons: Failed after about 16 months. Spontaneously shut down, would no longer POST. Warranty not worth the paper (or pixels) on which it is written.
Overall Review: RMA'd to ASUS, who replied that there was "Customer Induced Damage" that voided the warranty. They included pictures showing some spots on the board that were not there when shipped--looks like their tech spilled his Red Bull on it. The board had been in the case since installation and never been touched by anything but canned air. No new components had been added since the original installation. Have built numerous systems, often with ASUS components, with no such issues, but have lost confidence now. FYI ASUS support, don't bother replying to this about how sorry you are about my "experience". Can't trust you anymore.
Potentially good board, but...
Pros: Has all the features needed, layout is fine. Win 11 Pro installation was easy and used the MSI utility to install some of the additional software and drivers.
Cons: The #1 M2 slot (CPU) uses a no-tool latch for the heat sink. However, it wouldn't release, so I was forced to use the #2 slot with slower performance. (The other 3 M2 slots use screws for the heat sinks.) MSI tech support could not resolve the issue and only offered to allow me to ship them the board. Due to other considerations I couldn't delay having the system up, so am stuck with reduced performance of the boot drive.
Overall Review: If not for the M2 problem, I'd give 5 stars. I've never been a fan of tool less installations--if you can't use a screw driver, don't build systems. However, if the manufacturer wants to use such a "feature", make sure it works! MSI, don't bother to comment about how sorry you are with my experience. You built it, I'm stuck with it.
Never Again
Pros: Interview interface unchanged.
Cons: Big change from last year. Now requires upgrade for simple Schedule C entries. Will never buy again, after using for over 15 years. H & R Block comes highly recommended.
Didn't work after 1 hour
Pros: Initially worked, displayed the connected monitor with the correct resolution.
Cons: After resuming from sleep mode, would no longer recognize appropriate resolution for the connected monitor. Reboots, drivers, etc. did not solve the problem. The unit was used to replace one by a different manufacturer that failed after six months. This one was worse, not worth shipping back for RMA.
Initially worked, failed after 6 months
Pros: Worked flawlessly on initial setup. Windows 7 recognized third display.
Cons: Failed after 6 months. Adapter still recognized by OS, but it no longer passes signal to monitor. Confirmed with second monitor and DVI cable.
