Pros: I was in the middle of transferring from one chassis to another and the Z390 accidentally dropped from my hands..... and absolutely nothing happened. personally, I was mortified, frozen in fear thinking I had done the worst thing ever..... I continued with my build, unsure if it was going to even turn on. Long story short - the board is fine as is the i9 9900k inside it (very snug by the way) and my Thermaltake Flo Doing 360 is comfortably cooling the CPU. My build looks and feels great, this Mobo is great, the ability to change the lighting AURA is a huge plus as well. I didn't notice it at first but the reinforced PCI slots 1 & 2) were reinforced to hold my 2080 and my 1080 mighty fine. Runs butter smooth, highly recommend.
Cons: I only docked one star for a couple reasons: - The AURA RGB header is 4 pin, however, the Thermaltake TT fan controller I bought only supplied a 3 pin female head (it had 4 holes but one had a piece of plastic making that hole inoperable) and that did not fit in the Z390 RGB header. - There's only 1 USB 3.1 header, I know there are 4 USB 2.0 (3.0 speed) however my chassis has a cable for a type-c but with a USB 3.1 header and I have no where to insert that and will have to buy an adapter.
Overall Review: The Asus automatic overclocking software is really well done, it was a snap to push my CPU from 3.2 to float based on usage (part of the overclocking) up to 4.8 GHz. Satisfied with my purchase.
Pros: Easy setup, worked well after installation.
Cons: Failed after about 16 months. Spontaneously shut down, would no longer POST. Warranty not worth the paper (or pixels) on which it is written.
Overall Review: RMA'd to ASUS, who replied that there was "Customer Induced Damage" that voided the warranty. They included pictures showing some spots on the board that were not there when shipped--looks like their tech spilled his Red Bull on it. The board had been in the case since installation and never been touched by anything but canned air. No new components had been added since the original installation. Have built numerous systems, often with ASUS components, with no such issues, but have lost confidence now. FYI ASUS support, don't bother replying to this about how sorry you are about my "experience". Can't trust you anymore.
Pros: The board works great with my i7-9700k and my GeForce 1070. Running games well everything is smooth.
Cons: Only problem I have is the motherboard really doesn’t like headsets. I’ve had the motherboard for a few weeks now and I’ve tried a lot of different things to fix it. 2 different headsets with the same problem. They start out great then after just about a day they start sounding gritty and the sound volume goes way down for the mic. It’s just awful I’ll continue to look into it and maybe even get into contact with the makers if need be.
Overall Review: Overall great motherboard
Pros: - has everything I need ( including front panel usb type-c header ) - no issue with support of any device - nice 2 sec bios boot options - nice rgb lights if you care about such and 2 addition headers
Cons: - nothing, all fine here
Overall Review: some all complaining about the temporary bonus of free COD game. Goes like this.. 1) Newegg sent email with code and instructions. 2) create an account at Asus ( little bit of pain, have to click on your country, then go through setup, then i had to only wait 2 hours for approval and code being sent. 3) create an account at Battle.net 3) create and account at COD site, link battle.net account, and add code. 4) download game from battle.net app Ehh, its a free game. Not much to complain about, expect giving everyone your info to create account.
Pros: The UEFI BIOS has some great features such as OC Tuning, Fan Control & Temp Monitoring, EZ Flash updating and the new SSD Drive options(M.2x2 sockets). The Aura Sync lights are impressive if you like visual effects but I am more keen to functionality of which this board has plenty. I had no problems getting the CPU and Memory Sticks installed and I counted at least 6 fan connectors which is more then enough. I used the EZ USB BIOS update to go from version 0902 to 1302 successfully. All in all, this MB made this the easiest build I have done yet using an ASUS MB
Cons: My only complaint is the position of the SATA connectors at the back of the board facing the front of the case rather thin facing up. This makes it difficult to connect additional SATA drives after the board has already been installed, especially if your case is short of space. My solution was using the Antec P100 case which has plenty of extra room towards the front. I’ve seen this complaint from others, but I don’t think it would distract from a 5 star rating.
Overall Review: This MB would make a great first build for any gamers, especially if they like internal lighting effects. The OC tuning abilities are much improved from previous models. It is also compatible with many of the newest technology trends giving it an extra edge on sustainability for the future. System Hardware: MoBrd: ASUS Prime Z390-A,LGA1151,ATX,Series 300 CPU: Intel i5-9400,2.9Ghz,Q-Core, 9MB Cache Memory: G.Skill 64GB(4x16GB) DDR4, F4-3200C16Q-64GVK Case: Antec P100, ATX, 4xUSB3,7x3.5/2.5 Drive Bays,2x5.25 Bays PSU: Rosewill Glacier 850W, Modular HDrive: Western Digital WD1002FAEX, 1TB, 7200RPM,Black
Pros: After much research, I decided to to jump in and purchase this MB for my new build. I wanted an RGB capable MB that would look good with my white case EVGA DG-76. Although not perfect, this MB met my expectations with minor cons that were not a priority and could be corrected (see cons below). I have been using ASUS MB for over 25 years without disappointments and this one was pretty much what I expected. I wont get into the features I like which are almost everything and you can read them from ASUS and other reviews. The software updater is a nice feature. The BIOS is easy to navigate with many OC options I'm just beginning to play with. It looks beautiful in my case and the RGB software Aura plays very nice and controls my 32 gigs of GSkill RGB memory except that memory does not stop lighting when in sleep mode. I am sure this will be fixed. Overall I am very happy with my choice with exception below.
Cons: My biggest beef and disappointment is the sound quality of this MB. It leaves lots to be desired and sub part from all previous ASUS MB I have build with. I cant understand how this otherwise awesome MB fails on this. I guess I may need to be on the market for a sound card.
Overall Review: I would recommend this product to others as long as they can live with the poor sound quality. other than this, I am loving all other features of this MB and look forward to the longevity and quality performance ASUS is famous for. I would have given 5 eggs to this product if sound was not so disappointing.
Pros: ASUS easy to setup, software excellent, over clock easy. Newegg excellent to shop, shipment was faster than expected.
Cons: Non right now, been running new build for about week with no issues.
Overall Review: Excellent!
Cons: Not a one!
Overall Review: Easy to work with Asus always. I am a woman nearly 71 years young and have built my second pc with this board and a beautiful white Lian Li case, NVME 1TB and other extras. Can't be happier. Newegg came through with all necessary parts and on time. Thanks again Newegg.
