Most Favorable Review

Very satisfied new user. So far so good!

Team Group GX2 2.5" 256GB SATA III 3D NAND TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253X2256G0C101
Team Group GX2 2.5" 256GB SATA III 3D NAND TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253X2256G0C101

Pros: Very cost effective. power efficient. good performance.

Cons: none so far.

Overall Review: Bought two of these to upgrade mechanical HDs in a laptop and desktop. The (newish) AMD based laptop belonged to a friend and was under powered and slow, running win 10. After the upgrade, not only does it run at a considerably snappier pace, the battery life has improved dramatically as well. Have not yet done the upgrade to my own Win 7 desktop, but expecting the same.

Most Critical Review

First impresson: so far so good for a budget bluetooth device.

Philips SHB4205BK/27 Flite Wireless Bluetooth Headphones (Black)
Philips SHB4205BK/27 Flite Wireless Bluetooth Headphones (Black)

Pros: modest size. superficially of good build quality. easy pairing with host device(s). (a BIG plus for me given my frustration with past bluetooth devices!) The earphones arrived yesterday and these are the best features I notice so far.

Cons: The bud-style ear pieces have hard contours that don't seal against the skin as with silicone/rubber linings. They fit my ears and stay in place reasonably well but do not block out ambient sounds from the environment. So, not great for use in noisy cafes or loud subways. Some control is a bit inconsistent. At the moment, I've had trouble using my Laptop's own volume control with the device.

Overall Review: The sound issue is exacerbated by the fact that the device just isn't very loud or feel like it puts out much audio power. I have to turn the volume up pretty high. I suspect I can do some tuning or adjusting that isn't in the basic "getting started" guide the product came with. In my laptop's device setup/configuration options, there appears a choice of "Philips Hyperlite Stereo" or "Philips Hyperlite Hands-Free AG audio". The later seem to sound louder, but feel like it has less fidelity - when it works - which strangely isn't the case with some media. Is there a correct more comprehensive way to use this thing? I hope to up my rating in time when the shortcomings I've noticed are addressed or resolved. One of the best features of the newegg shopping experience is that vendors/manufacturers often chime in to address criticisms or complaints. Are you paying attention Philips? :-) Update: After a week or so, my impression is more or less unchanged. While the volume/power situation remains lackluster, I can attest to the bass performance somewhat marginally. The thing though, is that I have to press the earpieces against my head to experience the higher fidelity. Otherwise, a substantial amount of the sound leaks out the side due to the lack of good seal against my skin. Bluetooth signal strength has turned out to be a bit lacking. While line of sight performance is good to more than 10 meters, It'll cut out real fast if objects/walls are in the way. Overall rating: OK. but you can and should buy better. 2nd update: It has been just short of a month and I've decided to return it. I'll be eating a restocking fee, but I can't justify keeping this item as the inferior signal strength just doesn't cut it for me. I guess the final straw was when I started experiencing random skips when using this device for youtube. Cheap bluetooth headsets from Philips are not worth buy. Lesson learned.

bought to replace an unsatisfactory bluetooth headset. turned out to be even worse.

Philips UpBeat Bluetooth Wireless In-ear Headphones SHB3595BK - Black
Philips UpBeat Bluetooth Wireless In-ear Headphones SHB3595BK - Black

Pros: compact. silicone earpiece fits well and seals against outside noise.

Cons: Essentially zero base response, making this product unsuitable for music or media with wide dynamic range. worth considering if primary use is podcast or non-musical voice media. Awful signal strength. Anything less than line of sight will make the signal cut out. Even when the host source device is on your body, sometimes movement will break the connection and cause the audio to cut out/skip. Bad physical design. if worn for extended period of time, the asymmetric weight distribution will make it shift on your neck and make one side drag, sometimes pulling the earpiece out if you move around.

Overall Review: Its bad enough for me that I'm returning it even though I'll be eating a restocking fee for an already relatively cheap product. But I feel strongly enough to express disapproving rejection of a product of such low quality from a major brand.

Motorola Pulse Escape, Over-Ear Bluetooth Wireless Headphones, US Warranty, Black (SH012-BK)
Motorola Pulse Escape, Over-Ear Bluetooth Wireless Headphones, US Warranty, Black (SH012-BK)

Pros: Usual advantages of all wireless devices - no wire tangles to worry about. Reasonably good sound quality.

Cons: Frequently loses connection, fading in and out. Its worse when one is in motion or sometimes in specific areas where I'm guessing there is a great deal of other wireless interference. Awful for music but worse for podcasts or streams/broadcasts where you can miss out on significant portions of a narrative or dialog. Battery life leaves a bit to be desired. Not recommended for all day listening as it'll quit on you after a few hours of continuous use. At high volumes, the sound leaks out of what I initially assumed to be good seals. Those close to you will hear what you're listening to.

Overall Review: The item was part of a promotional combo. So I can't complain too much as it didn't cost too much extra. But all things being equal I wouldn't have bought it nor recommend to others given my experience with its performance at the current price. update: Just over a year of owning/using mine, the plastic over-the-head headband snapped today, rendering the product unwearable and thus useless. I might be able to ghetto repair it to the point of ugly functional. But I'm pretty disappointed. One other thought on an annoying feature/bug. It seems to expect being connected to two devices by default. If it is turned on, it will beep repeatedly until two connections have been established. This is incredibly distracting when you're using it paired with only one mobile device as it beeps through your music/movie/podcast/whatever. I haven't been able to figure out how to shut it off, as there is no documentation describing it.

Marginally functional, which is a shame

HP Laptop Stream 14-ax012ds Intel Celeron N3060 (1.60 GHz) 4 GB Memory 32 GB eMMC Intel HD Graphics 400 14.0" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
HP Laptop Stream 14-ax012ds Intel Celeron N3060 (1.60 GHz) 4 GB Memory 32 GB eMMC Intel HD Graphics 400 14.0" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: -Low cost was the draw that initially caught my attention. The price point was similar to another bare bone system I'd gotten before. -Very light and slim. The most mobile and convenient laptop I've ever owned. -Amazing battery life.

Cons: -Quick boot time turns out to be misleading indication of its performance as it is SLOOOOOWWW under load. Lots of web pages take forever to load. And youtube often doesn't play smoothly at all. -I've owned/used it long enough to go through some troubled windows update cycles. The 32GB SSD is too small. Even after freeing up space by removing a lot of bloat and having hardly any user files, I still get messages saying limited space affect the update process.

This item has useability/quality issues.

Rosewill Wireless Optical Computer Mouse, Compact, Travel Friendly, Office Style, Adjustable DPI, 4 Buttons, USB - Black
Rosewill Wireless Optical Computer Mouse, Compact, Travel Friendly, Office Style, Adjustable DPI, 4 Buttons, USB - Black

Pros: Cheap. slim form factor that lends itself to be used with notebook/laptops.

Cons: Product appears to have serious quality issues. Items like this are supposed to be plug-n-play. This one isn't. Upon powering up with the single required AAA battery, the embedded laser would flash a little, then go dark, and the mouse would do nothing else. One of the two I bought I've managed to get working after multiple tries. But the other continues to do this flash/quit routine no matter how many batteries I tried. So much for the claimed 1 year battery life. The one that appeared to be working I gave to my neighbor. I'm anxious to know now if it continues to be useable or not.

Overall Review: The documentation it came with also claims the resolution is adjustable. So far, I've discovered no way to change it. update: have gotten the second mouse working now. But I feel compelled to complain about the fact that the device has no physical on/off switch. I can understand the design consideration for one less complication. However, this feels costly in terms of the disadvantage of accidental activation when jostled around during transport. I suppose the solution is to remove the batteries when not actually being used. However, given the difficulty I had getting the thing to stay on, that is really not appealing.

Waited more than a week for two wireless mouse, one of which was for a friend. Was emailed by the seller that my order can not be fulfilled due to quality issues and that I should see my local shop. Not the best way to do business. For my efforts, I've got nothing to show after waiting more than a week. And I still owe my friend a mouse.

First time buyer. won't be the last.

Order took just over a week to arrive. But it arrived in good condition. Took off a point because the item should have been accompanied by a packaging slip. But will do business again if the occasion should arise.

Unlikely to buy from again.

I ordered multiple items from different sellers at the same time. This was the last to arrive. Upon delivery, A cup-sized lantern was shipped using a padded ENVELOPE. The product's appearance was predictable upon unwrapping. The cardboard packaging was flattened and half opened. One of the three rubber pads on the base of the lantern/flashlight was missing and had to be retrieved from the corner of the shipping envelope. For the moment, the lantern works, but I wonder if it will last long enough to be worth what I paid.
