amazing little box

Pros: Small, light, low power, and quiet. Can be mounted on the back of a monitor. Comes with wireless network card already installed.
Cons: Lacks audio output. Could use more USB connectors. Limited to mSata type storage devices.
Overall Review: The fact that it uses a Celeron processor might give the impression that it lacks computing power. This latest generation Celeron however, is as fast as the older generation Core2 processors. It's comparable to a Core2 pentium running at. 2.66MHz. Plenty fast enough to run Windows 8 comfortably. I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 and it blazes. I'm slowly replacing all my large desktops with these NUC type computers. The only thing it won't do we'll is gaming. The limited availability and capacity of mSata drives is another serious issue. But, for typical desktop work, this tiny unit is an outstanding value.
Could be better

Pros: Small, light, simple
Cons: Default ip address not in range for most typical home routers. Would have been far more sensible to let it get an address from the router.
Overall Review: Comes with a default ip address of 192.168.2.2. Most home routers have a range of 192.168.1.1 - 199 or 192.168.0.1 - 199 which means for most people - you won't be able to access this router. You will either have to change your router or configure your Ethernet port to a fixed address and directly connect to it. That's what I did. However, after configuring so it would be visible on my home network, I could never access it again. Updating its settings caused it to fail. Its now in the trash can.
Amazing Value with very good performance

Pros: I just got mine today. It's replacing a 10-year-old Acer. Mostly I use my laptop for writing, a little spreadsheet work, email and the usual sort of browsing. I started by wanting to move up to Windows 11. What clinched it for me was the performance. My old laptop (an Acer) was no slug. It was an i5 mobile. It did well on battery life and has seen many airplane rides. Of course, I wanted the best possible deal. When I saw this and checked out its specs, I was astonished. Even brand-new, this is a great value. Performance-wise, this i3 is pretty impressive and certainly good enough for what I do. It also weighs about half of my old one. Physically, I couldn't tell this was used. Not a mark on. The screen, well, my old Acer, was getting just dim. When I cranked up the brightness on this, I realized how really tired the old machine was. I don't know how you can go wrong with this machine for the incredible selling price. I'm adding a 512 GB drive and an 8 GB stick of memory. But even that stuff is pretty cheap. I've owned many and recommended Acer to my friends. Everyone who got one really liked them. I don't know if I'll keep this one for ten years. But for the immediate future, I'm very pleased with this one. I miss the lighted keyboard. But at this price, I guess I'll just have to work with a light on. If you're looking for a decent laptop for your school-age kids or a grandparent or just need an update to something newer -- you just can't beat this machine for the money.
Cons: No lighted keyboard, small drive, only 4 GB of memory. These are easy to update if you need more.
Overall Review: I highly recommend this laptop.
Awesome cpu for the price

Pros: High-performance, inexpensive, excellent fan
Cons: Be nice if it was 95 watts
Overall Review: I needed to build another development box without investing a lot of money. For $69 the FX-4350 can't be touched - not even close - for price/performance. I put the box together with and older but decent video card and was surprised how well it ran various games such as Need for Speed, Call of Duty and Battlefield. Performance is much higher than I expected. The included fan is very high quality with copper pipes, lots of heat-sink surface area - keeping the cpu very cool even under the highest demand. I now have 4 AMD FX series. I've always been a bit fond of AMD - being the underdog and all. But, AMD keeps delivering serious value for the money.
Functional Fun Keyboard

Pros: Compact, full key set, excellent feel, fun & functional illumination
Cons: Can't think of any
Overall Review: This was purely an impulse buy. I thought the back illumination would be fun and functional. I prefer working and gaming in more dark conditions and the back-light seemed like it would be helpful. It is indeed. The back-light shines right through the characters making them easy to see in a darkened room. Better than expected was the light touch the keys need and that they are very quiet. I hate clacky keyboards.
Good Value

Pros: Multiple inputs, small/simple remote, clear picture, nice appearance, fairly compact. surprisingly well built
Cons: Picture not as sharp as more expensive TVs. Has exactly one bad pixel
Overall Review: This one of the lowest price 32" true HDMI (1080p) TVs you can buy. It seems well made, produces an acceptable quality picture and has lots of inputs that are easy to select from the remote. I bought this mainly for gaming but have found that blu-rays look just fine on it as well. I always worry about the quality of construction for something this low-priced. But, I was surprised at how well made it appears to be. The picture is not equal to my much more expensive LG. But, for the money it is very acceptable.
