Overall a great motherboard
Pros: Great for skylake. Booted right up and has more than enough options to tune your machine precisely how you want it. I can game at max settings and compile software with ease. Don't be a fool and get this board with a skylake only to get cheap unmatched ram. ram is important! make sure what you are buying is going to work. I suggest getting extreme performance modules that are made for the Z170 chipset.
Cons: The Software for the soundcard is garbage. leave the creative software off and only use the drivers. I was able to eliminate the pops and clicks this way. If you are an audiophile then you will need to keep your old soundcard for this one. Or purchase a better card. Most the software gigabyte supplies is garbage software so just stay away from their stuff and you will be fine. Just stick to the drivers as usual.
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this board to anyone using a Skylake.
Stable good quality board
Pros: Good build quality. Easy setup.
Cons: The one drawback I found is that the #1 nvme slot with the heat pipe on the 5.0 channel shares bandwidth with the top pci slot. It will set your graphics card down to x8 instead of x16. Putting the drive in a lower slot fixes this. I wish I could use the heat pipe nvme cover on the lower slots but it's not an issue really. Just hate to see the cover go to waste.
Overall Review: Installed my parts and booted right up. Windows was a breeze as well, zero issues. One click AI overclock works well. The ram I have is amd expo ram and it recognized the profile when I enabled docp and runs stable. I really am pleased how trouble free everything was. It's the 3rd Asus board I have ever owned in the past 20+ years and this is the best one I have gotten. I also have no disconnect issues with the LAN. I have 1.2 gb service and I have played games and been on the internet a lot over the last few days and have not seen any connection issues.
Excellent graphics card!
Pros: Plays all games at max settings without issue. Runs cool and quiet. Comes with a well thought out anti sag bracket.
Cons: Its huge! The 12 v plug is on the side which may interfere with the side panel on some cases.
Overall Review: Overall this is an excellent card. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a gpu upgrade. The msrp this generation may not be ideal but its available and not marked up. I say if you can afford it buy it. You wont be disappointed.
Works exactly as intended
Pros: 6e is blazing fast. I get my full 1.2 gbs wirelessly.
Cons: Drivers arent built into windows 10/11 yet. But they are easy to find and install. With windows 11 it does install a driver to use 2 and 5GHz bands so you can at least get online without first having to install drivers.
Overall Review: With windows 11 and the most recent intel drivers this card works flawlessly. To those who dont know, this card will not recognize Wi-Fi 6GHz networks in windows 10. If any of the functions of this card dont work then you installed it wrong. You have to plug in the usb header when installing it on the board. Download and install the Wi-Fi and BT driver from Intel.( 2 separate files). And for 6GHz upgrade to or install windows 11.
Fits skylake boards
Pros: quiet. doesn't block RAM or plugs. solid securement hardware.
Cons: they could have taken total height down a little but it functions just fine.
Overall Review: attached to a g1 gaming7 board with i7-6700k
Best CPU for gaming
Pros: Solid performance. Best processor upgrade I have ever invested in. came from fx-8350 and wow what a difference.
Cons: none. works exactly as advertised
Overall Review: got this in g1 gaming 7 with ripjaw 4 ddr4 3000 and 2 gtx 970 sli. score in top %3 in future mark on stock settings.
