Pros: Very good construction. This item is made of steel and is heavy, not made of cheap plastic. The screw holes line up perfectly for the Samsung 850 Pro drives I have. Works in tower model (aluminum case) Mac Pros with 4 drive bays. Also works in HP z800 series workstations, at least my z800 (2010. 2011?). The drive plugs into the adapter built onto the unit which provides the interface that plugs into the computer. I did not use this in an application that uses cables: only in systems where you slide the adapter into a drive bay using a tray and lock it into place. Highly recommended for this type of application.

Overall Review: Absolutely recommend this for someone trying to adapt a 2.5 inch drive into a 3.5 inch slot where the drive fits onto a tray and slides into the PC/Mac, not using cables. Not sure if cables would work, I didn't try.

Cons: DOA out of the box. Installed in mid 2010 Macbook Pro per recommendations on this site and others with the same model said it worked. Specs matched requirements from Apple. Machine started to boot then kernel panicked. Rebooted, no chime, got to desktop, kernel panic again. Removed RAM, swapped positions and tried again with the same results.

Overall Review: Reinstalled stock memory and laptop is working perfectly. System profiler did show the full 8 gb of ram with the new modules installed but the machine would not stay running without kernel panicking for more than about a minute. Going to return the memory.

Pros: It works - plug and play, not much else to say!
