Cons: noticeable text 'shaking' (flicker?). I had simple setup. 1920x1080 60Hz. VGA. No gaming. Also noticed when scrolling through user feedback, Each feedback was separated by lighter then darker background text. Scrolling showed darker background text 'shakes' a bit. Switched to my previous monitor. No visual issue. this means the root cause is not my PC or power. ----- (update) problem persists but I found a workaround... I moved the monitor to another desk and text shaking went away. Here is what LG tech support wrote: ====================== If monitor has light flickering/wavy lines, kindly check if the connection cable that you are using is compatible with the monitor. Also, low temperature can also cause the monitor to flicker and this is normal. If that’s not the case, kindly check if you are using the recommended resolution/refresh rate. If so, please Powercycle the unit and rest the monitor for 30 minutes. If this will NOT be able to resolve the issue of the unit, this may need repair. Please provide the following so we can set up repair: Serial Number | Copy of Receipt | Home and Mobile Phone Number | Physical Address ====================== (1) the VGA cable from LG package was thinner than mine. So it was not about VGA cable although i tested with their cable which did not make any difference. Perhaps if monitor was near burning ? nonetheless, I took their advice because they do this for a living. no difference. (5) for those who may try to register. LG web site does not have 24MC57HQ-P. they have 24MP57HQ-P. So I used that model and entered my serial number. I told tech support that I registered but they still asked for my serial number. Com'on LG are you serious about your registration and tech support? I put the old TN monitor to that desk and that monitor works great. I think old technology tolerates electrical interference. there are several other devices near the desk (not on the desk) but none of them are power hungry. They are cable modem, wireless router, cordless phone w/answering, ooma box. I daisy chained 2 surge protectors for those devices. I don't think it was over use of power. I think it was some sort of frequency resonance. this is why when I moved the monitor to another desk and the text shaking (also scanning wave) went away. I found a kink in LG's armor. This would help LG to produce better quality products. Perhaps LG will offer me my purchase price? or a first class flight to Korea?

Overall Review: upgrade 2 eggs to 4 pending on long term user experiences. Life is good. wrote this so you don't need to go through hours of trouble shooting.

Overall Review: I am blessed to have good water in the northwest. Sorry to hear that other users complaining rust or poisoning. If it is poisoning, it is contaminated water by your beloved local industries. You can either move or protest. Or use water filter or filtered water for drinking and cooking. This hot water heater is a beautiful canary in a coal mine. When you refill, don't open the lid full and the water won't drip outside. It does take a little push to close. this is a better spring loaded design to ensure closing -- shall I say 'borrowed' from luxury brand. You are paying the price of Hundai for the utility of Honda. Pronounced similar but pricing is certainly not. Winter is almost over. Place positive comment now so the price won't be jacked up.
