Current update for Gen 9 processors
Pros: Just got delivered need more time. first time post for all new hardware. with gen 9 cpu. Based on past reviews this was more than I expected
Cons: none so far (only worked with it for an hour)
Overall Review: I wanted to let you know the version I just received worked properly with a gen 9 cpu (I5-9400) without needing to update the bios. I was hesitant to purchase due to a previous review, but I did have the ability if needed to borrow a gen 8 cpu. There was no need. I bench tested the newly purchased system and it posted properly. installed in a new case and everything went per my expectation and currently running a loop memory test. More will follow. My current rating is based on the first hour with the product. I anticipated a bios update problem and it was resolved prior to shipping.
Pros: This drive works properly as advertised.
Cons: The issue I dropped two eggs for was the noise of the drive. I tested several disks in both of the drives I purchaced and found that the drive was the most noisy part of the system I built. This was not expected due to the five cooling fans that barely made a whisper.
Overall Review: This drive is functing fine but due to its noise when in use I will look for another drive in the future. This drive did perform as expected in all other aspects, and did fit the need, and the price was right. I built a high end system that sits quietly on my desk, at least until the optical drive needs to spin up. I'm just gald I dont use it very often
good quality nice view
Pros: good cable management option, nice glass side panel.
Cons: cooling fan not included... but also not listed as included.
Overall Review: I would recommend to those of us looking for a low cost high quality option to display the internal computer hardware. Good cooling potential, but get some fans.
Good System on a budget
Pros: I found this on sale System met my requirements: (I5+, high res lcd, dedicated Video card). ASUS with few exceptions builds a good system as a whole.
Cons: I have never been happy with DeskStar HDD's This system contains one. I expected a disposable hdd due to the industry. Windows 8.1 installed and not ready for upgrading ASUS RMA Process(I hope I never need it based on past experiences) Power adapter is huge as many reviews stated. It is the design and can be replaced with a normal adapter as needed. I was pleased to find out several of my other ac adapters will fit this system. 19v 4.47a power
Overall Review: I was a bit worried by some of the reviews for this system. I am very happy with the systems I received. I recommended this to my neighbor and he also purchased two. I will be using these as Christmas presents, and wanted the systems for entertainment. My children will use them for games and education. Skyrim, the most demanding of the games my kids will play, works on this system. I read reviews about touch pad issues. I do not agree with them. my experience has been pleasant and if I have problems with any touch pad it is usually Dry skin issues. I docked a star only for the HDD that is installed. I expected the HDD in any pre-assembled system to be disposable and will end up putting a SSD in these systems at a latter time. I had the opportunity to prep four of these systems in total, not one of the systems were at the same stage in the setup process. I didn't notice this until it was time to install upgrades. one system was ready to install win 10. the other three were in varied stages of the windows update process. This seems to be a minor quality control issue during the manufacturing / HDD imaging process. Being an IT Professional, I was disappointed in ASUS for not putting out a consistent product. The win 10 upgrade proceeded with some encouragement and all systems work well now. Improvements: *My system came with 8gm ram, This is the systems capacity. but I read that going in so it cant be a con. *NO Access panels again I knew this going in and therefor not a con but something to be improved upon. ASUS should know better. *Battery is internal again this information was available prior to purchase. Overall I am happy with my purchase and recommend this to others including close friends. Read all the reviews and know what you are buying. This is a good system for students who like to play games that require dedicated graphics cards. this would make a good entry level gaming system but keep in mind this system isn't intended for high end gaming on max settings. I will be responsible for four identical systems and as issues arise I will post more info. I listed the ASUS RMA Process as a con but to date these systems have not been returned for service. IT has been my experience the ASUS RMA process has consistently been difficult at best. I have worked for a retailer and service shop for several years, This process just has not gotten better with practice and I understand that although ASUS has a good product their RMA Process is something to be avoided if at all possible.
Great case could be improved.
Pros: Great Small Case, plenty of room for my current needs, should work great with most videocards. Cable management worked well for a mid case.
Cons: no access to Master power switch. Front bezel not easily removeable due to the way the front pannels are attached to it not the body of the case
Overall Review: I installed all the fans the case would hold and made sure the system was running cool. Mfg could put in an access pannel very easily. Psu replacement would require pulling the MB, but that was somthing I read going in. Again an access plate from the front would fix this. no 120 MM front hdd cooling fan... 80 mm fans can get noisy so I usually avoid using them
Exactly what was expected
After reading the descriptions provided I purchased several transmitters for two different vehicles. After reading the instructions I was able to program all the devices for two vehicles with in a total of five minutes. The instructions and Descriptions provided were spot on and easy to follow. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
