EXCELLENT PRODUCT!

Pros: Excellent Speeds for my Toshiba laptop
Cons: None
Overall Review: Nice price that comes with good speed. Samsung is cool but this thing hums. you wont be disappointed.
Broke after 7 mos

Pros: Pulls in the signal nice and strong
Cons: the black casing broke off
Overall Review: the black part broke off. I assume that the black part was also the antenna. now it doesn't pull in the signal well. I'll buy another, but word of advise, baby it. it's fragile.
This is garbage

Pros: None
Cons: Ordered when it was $99.99. 3 days later it drops to 89.99 with a $40 mail in rebate. Interesting, are they trying to get rid of them?
Overall Review: Plugged to my computer with 4 HDDs in it. it kept shutting off for no reason, every 15 seconds. PLUS, Newegg advertises esata speeds up to 6 gigs using esata. the instructions that came with this garbage said a max of 5 gigs.
At least I got my moneys worth

Pros: Fast.
Cons: Purchased 12/2/2014. It's now 12/21/2016 and one of the drive bays started to fail. at the time, I spent $79.99 on it. I'll buy another one, nevertheless.
Overall Review: They probably know it wont last long. That's why they give you only one year warranty. It's worth buying the ext. warranty. Get a 2 yr and you will be good to go.
Don't buy them

Pros: Cheap price- that's how they get you.
Cons: It's noisy. LOUD. I came into my office one morning and was wondering what in the world is that humming sound. it's this stupid HDD in my Orico HDD Enclosure hooked into my Netgear R8000. Just a humming away.
Overall Review: If this is going to be placed in a server or something, then go for it. but if you are going to put in your rig or an enclosure: Let the noise begin. the one egg given was for price. Lost the others because of bad product and the fact that Newegg will not give refunds on it.
They make awesome MB's

Pros: Very sleek. USB 3.0 for file sharing on network. You can detach the antennas to add stronger ones.
Cons: I had purchased this through ???? (sorry Newegg, got a better price break). I was using the netgear R4000 before I got this router. netgear did extremely well but my Roku had a "fair" connection on it for 5G in my 5000 sq foot home. so, I got the asus. and that was after about 2 weeks of research btwn the AC87R and the Netgear R8000. I got the 87R hooked it up and I went from fair to good with the wireless signal to my Roku. I was not impressed so I got some cheap stronger antennas to attach to the 87R and no results. What made me decide to return this item was because it would not recognize my Seagate 4Tbit drive housed in my Orico ext HDD enclosure. that was frustrating. I got it to recognize the drive twice for about 10 secs. after that, never again did it read the HDD. it read my 4Tbit no problem in the USB 2.0. but hey, I paid a high price for this thing and I want the USB 3.0 to recognize my drive. So then I decided to return it and I got the R8000. trust me, I build computers and I've always used asus. they seem to be the only MB's out there that are easy to work with (been building for over 10 yrs) so It was hard to admit that asus fail short with their router. so I got the R8000 and after a firmware update, low and behold, it recognizes my 4Tbit drive. I was impressed. PLUS I went from a "good" signal on my Roku to "EXCELLENT."
Overall Review: In conclusion the R8000 was and is a better experience for me compared to asus AC87R. the R8000 recognized my 4Tbit drive and, although I don't like the non-detachable antenna idea, it gave a much stronger signal than the asus. I heard that asus is coming out with their version of the 3200 as well. I hope it is better than the 87R.
