Quality Workmanship

EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Best motherboard I've ever owned. A great way to stick with the company with the best customer support and get rid of those nasty Nvidia based boards. It comes with a provided EVGA software which helps fine tune your cpu and overclock it outside of the bios. Buyers are guaranteed a 90 day step up period (whether or not that will apply to the Nforce 200 X58 is still up in the air according to EVGA). One of the best parts of this board is that I can finally use that Creative X-fi sound card I've had for the past year without the issues that plagued it on Nvidia boards. This board is on par quality wise with the ASUS Rampage II Extreme, the advantage to the ASUS board being you get a X-fi PCIe card with it (but it's a software emulation card) but EVGA has much better customer support and forums than ASUS. Well done EVGA.

Cons: Board runs the PCIe 2.0 lanes at 16x16 or 16x8x8. Next months release of EVGA's nforce 200 equipped X58 will run them at 16x16x16. Although currently it doesn't matter as x8 on a PCIe 2.0 lane yields the same performance that it would on a x16 lane. Future video cards will show performance differences (but by the time those arrive you'll probably be in the market for a newer motherboard).

Overall Review: The board supports 800Mhz/1066Mhz/1333Mhz RAM and will support 1600Mhz RAM in a later BIOS update. You can run 1600Mhz RAM by overclocking your cpu. Board runs everything amazingly well - Core i7 940 @ 3.96Ghz, SLI GTX 280 SSC, 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz RAM, Vista 64bit.

Enthusiast Product for an Enthusiast Price

EVGA 01G-P3-1284-AR GeForce GTX 280 SSC Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
EVGA 01G-P3-1284-AR GeForce GTX 280 SSC Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: Fastest card on the market currently. Cards have shown enormous overclocking results, with a slight overclock the card gain 600-700 points alone in 3dMark Vantage. Currently immature beta drivers place this card as equal to the 9800GX2 at stock clock, however this isn't a single "SLI" card like the GX2 so you won't have to worry about issues that arise from SLI (ie: frame rendering issues) and AA at 2560x1600.

Cons: Obviously the price, however considering all Nvidia highends have launched in the $650+ range this shouldn't come as a surprise. People know that they are paying an early adopters "fee" with these prices.

Overall Review: I've never bought an overclocked edition of a GPU before however after seeing how much a slight overclock yields (ie: 25Mhz in core and shaders yielded 4fps more on average, which I would think has to do with the fact you're adding 25mhz to 240 Unified Shaders which would have a larger impact than to the previous generations 96-128 shaders). Also, keep in mind the 4850 and 4870 from ATi launch next week and they will be about half the price for about 60%-85% of the performance of this card.

Excellent RPG

Witcher (Import) PC Game
Witcher (Import) PC Game

Pros: Wow, this game went from being a demo I downloaded when I was extremely bored to quickly jumping to one of my all time favorite games. The story is amazing, it's not one of those generic storylines present in most video games today, it's very well done. Import edition runs no matter where you live, and includes some certain data that was censored out in the US release. I suggest buying the imported since it's the same price and includes the game how it was originally meant to be.

Cons: None really, although I do wish they had included a higher texture level (the one in the game looks amazing anyways though).

Overall Review: Ordered along with Mass Effect and both RPGs, while different, are amazing in their own respect. Atari is releasing a Improved Edition Witcher later this year and if you already own the Witcher you can get that content in a patch.

Beast @ DX9

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2900XT 1GB GDDR4 PCI Express x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100211
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2900XT 1GB GDDR4 PCI Express x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100211

Pros: As good as a 8800GTX in some games a bit worse in others.

Cons: Bad in DX10, look up Bioshock DX10 benchmarks and the 8800GTX will on average be getting 20-30fps more than this card. With the GTS getting about 10-20fps more.

Overall Review: If you have XP I only recommend this card, however if you have Vista and want the best DX10 card get a GTS or GTX.

Great Overclocker

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W Processor - BX80562Q6600
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W Processor - BX80562Q6600

Pros: Very nice, received a B3 stepping (ordered at the end of July). Even then it overclocks to QX6800 levels while running @ 40 celsius while idle.

Cons: Yeah right.

Overall Review: Using with a Zalman 9500 heatsink @ 2.93Ghz 40 celius B3 stepping. The E6850 performs better in games currently but with a slight overclock this thing ends up destroying it.

Best RTS ever!

Supreme Commander PC Game
Supreme Commander PC Game

Pros: This is by far the best RTS I have ever played (and I've played A LOT of them). Graphically stunning and worth every penny. Game runs flawlessly on my computer

Cons: Minor detail but unit pathfinding could be better.
