almost as good as water

Pros: I bought this cooler in 2007 to put on a secondary AM2 setup I had built for my wife, with plans to overclock that CPU massively (knowing the cooler could handle the heat dissipation) unfortunately, the CPU/mobo wouldnt allow me to get much so the cooler was more of a wasted purchase, for that system. although it did keep the temps in the mid/low 20c range, only going above 30c after several hours of gaming. blue LED isnt annoyingly bright like some LED are and matched perfectly with the PSU which also had blue LED.
Cons: it wasnt free and simply got louder over time as the bearings failed. (see below)
Overall Review: as mentioned above, after 5 solid years of use, the fan eventually started getting louder as the bearings failed, not a con, it happens to ALL fans over time after constant use. I removed it and currently have an Arctic cooling PWMf120 placed directly behind it blowing through the cooler, sitting on an E8500 @ 3.5ghrz and this morning when I woke up and got on the system, the temp read 20c.... 20c !!!! ambient temps in the room was about 70f (that is roughly 21.1c) meaning, the CPU was actually idling LOWER than the room temp ! just... wow..... however, this is why it isnt as good as liquid cooling, under load, Ive seen it climb up to 39c... yes, I know... oh boo hoo... lol, my other system is using liquid, and idle temps are around 28c, but load temps rarely reach 35c, that is with the GPU also in the loop.
first, and maybe last, gigabyte board

Pros: none
Cons: bought this board new on Feb 11th 2013, upon initial bootup with basic components (memory, graphics and CPU) I get nothing. check connections, clear CMOS, remove all memory except a single stick, and get the pulse boot cycle others have gotten. got the basic reply from gigabyte (check this, check that) which, if your even a little computer savvy, you already have done, 3 times over... still no reply recent reply from gigabyte at this time. even after 2 more attempts to contact them. my work station consists of a rubber floor mat, wooden chair (no metal, at all) a rubber mat to work on the wooden table. I wear a wrist band at all times and I always leave PS plugged in, with power switch on PS in the off position.
Overall Review: Ive dealt with a few bad mobo's before, and every time Ive gotten an almost immediate reply from the companies (ASUS, BFG, EVGA, MSI, AsRock, ECS) usually within 24 hrs of my inquiry. going on 3 months with gigabyte and nothing... if this is the support I can expect, you can bet I will never purchase another gigabyte product, and I will take my few clients with me.
exactly what I expected after reading reviews

Pros: it works good, I havent had some of the issues others have in regards to vibration/noise, it does burn discs pretty darn fast.
Cons: the software for watching BD (or should I say "lack of") truly leaves something to be desired...
Overall Review: if your getting this to burn discs, it works very, very well. if your getting it for that + multimedia... you WILL need to spend some extra coinage for decent software.
worth it

Pros: installed and recognized all 32g. not concerned with latency settings as memory wouldnt be a bottleneck in this system, as long as it works.
Cons: none
Overall Review: ryzen5 system recognized the memory without a hitch and is running smooth as silk.
not much to say, it works as intended

Pros: easy enough to get set up, plenty of room for components and a few nice upgrade paths for down the road. not thrilled with rgb but not a deal breaker by any means. everything installed without a hitch.
Cons: not really any cons outside of aforementioned rgb.
Overall Review: Ive almost always used MSI products, especially in their motherboard line. always happy with the build quality and support. this board is no different in its quality of build and hopefully I wont need to deal with support anytime soon.
cools decent, quiet... but

Pros: I havent put it under load yet, as of now it is working nicely, very quiet even with 2x fans in a push/pull setup. so far I am happy with it, temps seems to stay at or near 32c no matter what Im doing with an ambient room temp of around 80f.
Cons: every once in a while I can hear the gurgling like it is displacing a bubble. Ive had a full loop before (cpu, gpu, n/b and s/b HDD & mem) and having any air is not a good thing, it will eventually damage the pump and it is very inefficient.
Overall Review: since Im not really taxing my system and dont really plan to in the near future, Im thinking it will be fine, but I will need to keep a close monitor of temps just in case it fails.
