Very good for the price

Acer Desktop PC Power FG APFG-U-P5161 Intel Pentium 4 516 512MB DDR2 80GB HDD Intel GMA 900 Windows XP Professional

Pros: This is a nice pc. It performs as expected. It's not a high end gaming machine but it's got more than enough power for what I need it to do. This pc has tons of holes to plug things into as well. I think it would be impossible to run out of USB ports, and there's enough jacks for surround sound without adding a sound card. The headphone jack on the front is very nice as well.

Cons: The only con I have is the cpu fan. It's horrible. It's got a nice heat sink but the fan spins way too slowly. I ended up putting another much faster fan on.

Overall Review: Very good for a mid-range machine.

Missing parts

ABIT IP-95 LGA 775 VIA P4M890 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ABIT IP-95 LGA 775 VIA P4M890 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Didn't need anything special. Ordered two motherboards. The one I can use works fine.

Cons: One motherboard was missing the plate that snaps onto the case. I've been waiting almost a month for ABIT rma to contact me. Horrible customer support with ABIT. I now have to spend even more money shipping this motherboard back as an RMA.

Good for the price

ASUS P7P55D-E LX LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P7P55D-E LX LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Overall this is a good board. Overclocking was a breeze and it was easy to find a stable speed. I got it to test out the new USB 3.0 and SATA6 and wish I'd spent more on a better one, but for the money it's pretty good. I/O Levelup showed an improvement to USB much more than to SATA. I connected a USB 2.0 external drive and copied a 7.4gb file to see if it would speed up old USB devices. Connected to either the 2.0 or 3.0 port it copied in 4 min. With I/O Levelup turned off it took 4 min 50 sec. Since SATA6 showed little improvement I'd set I/O Levelup to USB and not worry about boosting SATA.

Cons: SATA6 showed hardly any improvement for me, even with the I/O Levelup turned to SATA. I got an SATA6 drive to go with this and I'm just not seeing much improvement over SATA3 on this board. I copied some large files and while it was a little faster, it wasn't near as much as I'd expected.

Overall Review: Very good board for the price but if you really want to see the benefits of SATA6 and USB 3.0 then get a more expensive board.

great little stick

Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model KVR800D2N5/1G

Pros: Bought one of these when I bought my first dual core mobo. The mobo docs were pretty specific about what ram you could put in it so I got this one. Been buying nothing but since. 14 new pc's later I have had a 100% satisfaction rate with these sticks.

Cons: None.

Rosewill Model RC-301 - Dual Serial Port PCI Card / PCI Parallel Port Card
Rosewill Model RC-301 - Dual Serial Port PCI Card / PCI Parallel Port Card

Pros: Works as advertised. I needed extra com ports in a pc for some really old equipment and they're working just fine.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I was a little worried since the equipment is picky sometimes but everything worked smoothly.
