BULLDOZER

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W FD8350FRHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: Great CPU! Very fast, quick installation to AM3+ socket. I installed a new heat sink at the same time and that was way harder than getting this sucker in there.

Cons: None, other than the fact that most games dont use more than 2-4 threads yet so this processor is basically for the future.

Overall Review: Grab this while its good. Price is great (i got it at 169) and it will last for a long time if well managed and cared for.

Most Critical Review

Misled

DVI DVI-D Dual Link Male To VGA Adapter For HDTV LCD
DVI DVI-D Dual Link Male To VGA Adapter For HDTV LCD

Pros: Does what it is made for

Cons: None

Overall Review: I was confused about some three-monitor setup restrictions with one graphics card. I have an HIS Radeon HD6950. This card has output of DVI-I, DVI-D Dual Link, HDMI, and 2 mini-DP ports. I have an extra VGA cable, and the DVI-I and HDMI are currently used, so I purchased this specific adapter to use for the DVI-D Dual Link adapter. IMPORTANT: DVI-D Dual Link only ports will NOT accept an analog signal adapted without an ACTIVE adapter. This is because it needs to convert the signal a bit before it reaches the graphics card so it works properly. So, what happens is, it all connects but it acts like the third one cable isn't connected because it won't read the data. SOLUTION: Someone in the "Leo the Tech Guy" chatroom assisted me and what I wound up able to do was this. Instead of having to get another graphics card for the third monitor, I had to use the mini-DP ports. I only have HDMI and VGA in from the monitors, so I bought (from newegg) the HIS Model HMDPHDMIA Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter. This allows me to use the mini-DP port and an HDMI cable to the monitor.

Great Monitors

Acer 23" 60Hz LCD Monitor 5 ms D-Sub, DVI S Series S230HL Abd
Acer 23" 60Hz LCD Monitor 5 ms D-Sub, DVI S Series S230HL Abd

Pros: Thin, Lightweight, and Great resolution with good viewing angle as well. I read reviews on most low cost monitors and viewing angle seemed to be the highest issue and this has great angle.

Cons: No HDMI. I knew this but just figured I'd put it in the review. Also it does not come with a DVI converter, but my graphics card came with one so I just used that.

Overall Review: I ordered two of these refurbished, one was absolutely perfect like no one had used it, but the other was cracked big time and I have RMA'd it. Will update review once I receive the second one.

Cheap Good Case Fans

Cooler Master Sleeve Bearing 120mm Blue LED Silent Fan for Computer Cases, CPU Coolers, and Radiators (Value 2-Pack)

Pros: Cool lights. Fans run quiet and look cool in case. HAF 912 Mid

Cons: Had to thread the screws into the fan, but once secure they work perfectly fine.

Great Heatsink

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler, 4 CDC Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan, Aluminum Fins for AMD Ryzen/Intel LGA1200/1151
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler, 4 CDC Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan, Aluminum Fins for AMD Ryzen/Intel LGA1200/1151

Pros: Very cool, very quiet. Easy to assemble the mounting bracket and place it on top of the processor with the fan sliding on easily afterwards. Good temperatures after update.

Cons: Kind of large. I have a HAF 912 Mid tower and it fits just fine in this case. Ram clearance is great and everything is fine. No other problems :)
