work server/fun machine

Pros: This is a stable well documented MB, and it works flawlessly for my work server, as well as my all around work computer, I set this thing up with a RAID 5 set of HDDs so that the work directories would be safe and secure, upgraded the BIOS first, right after first Windows BOOT and away we go.
Cons: The Marvell Raid controller doesn't support an eSATA port that is hot swappable, at least not like I wanted to build and the documentation for the Marvell controller could have been better, but it works great with the SATA-DVD drive that I have plugged in it
Overall Review: This is a very nice board with a lot of documentation and support if you're planning on building your own, you'll certainly find something to read about every step of the way.
Too new to be flexible

Pros: If this is the only router or the main router and everything else is brand new microsoft or brand new wireless, this thing is great, however.........
Cons: I tried with two units. Configuring it on defaults and it wouldn't communicate with an old XP system and an even older linux system. So I put in the old D-link Wired router and everything worked again, so it wasn't my cables. then.... If I configured the router for anything other than DHCP it immediately locked up and would not allow me to log into it any longer. Resetting the router didn't fix that either. The technical service from India, I'm assuming India, is not great. They tried to convince me it was my cables, even after I explained that the old router communicates with all of my computers. They are simply reading a script and have no real ability to troubleshoot. I got the linksys 4200v2 to upgrade my router to wireless, but it just didn't work out and I tried twice. I'm going to buy a Linksys WRT54GL because it has the highest rating and then we'll see how that works.
Overall Review: I've set up many networks at home, the office, friends, colleagues and I was really looking forward to this upgrade, but it was a freaking nightmare. I would not recommend this router unless you only have wireless devices or all new stuff and don't have anything other than vanilla in your network.
not windows 11 compatible

Pros: it was on sale
Cons: windows 11 advertised on same page
Overall Review: I mean, what the hell. I installed windows 10 instead, easy fix, but really WHAT THE HELL?!?! Hopefully the performance will be great.
pretty

Pros: Wife doesn't hate it. Lots of room inside for ATX board and stuff.
Cons: still a computer case. I love making computers, this looks like a piece of furniture.
Overall Review: It helped me refurb an old system that I had upgraded with an SSD & windows 8 & new monitor & wireless keyboard & wireless mouse & some art doing stuff that one of my daughters loves to use to make pictures
freenas compatible

Pros: freenas compatible, cheap
Cons: none
Overall Review: freenas compatible providing sata ports to old sataII motherboard
freenas compatible

Pros: freenas compatible, had to rebuild a NAS backup device that I put together using old hardware as a redundant backup to the QNAP fileserver on our work network
Cons: I only meant to buy one, now I have two.
Overall Review: it works
