Quality Headphone

Razer Megalodon Gold-plated USB Connector Circumaural 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset
Razer Megalodon Gold-plated USB Connector Circumaural 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset

Pros: 1) 7.1 Sound. If you know how to turn it on this is great. 2) Great sounds. If you know how to instal a firmware update then it's great. 3) Great Fit and very comfortable. 4) Very nice mic. If the mic is too loud... turn it down.

Cons: No cons.

Overall Review: If you take some time to actually instal the firmware update and learn how to use the headphones, these headphones are worth the price. That's assuming you update the firmware and use 7.1 sound. If you just plug in the headphones and do nothing then these headphones aren't for you.

I didn't ask for this

Pros: None

Cons: If I had a choice, I would have not gotten this "Free gift."

Must Buy Gaming Headset

Turtle Beach EarForce Z SEVEN PC Gaming Headset
Turtle Beach EarForce Z SEVEN PC Gaming Headset

Pros: I have the Sennheiser 360 and the Astro A40. I have another eight other headsets as well. This one has the best sound quality of all of them. For sound qaulity it's probably Z seven > Astro 40 > Sennheiser 360. I had been listening to the 360 and A40 and this headset is CLEARLY better. The sound quality really blew me away. I really don't like how the A40 looks to be honest and I had the top of the headset break apart. The little screws on the A40 aren't that sturdy. The 360 is pretty solid. For durability it's probably 360 > z Seven > Astro

Cons: I've tried ten gaming headsets and this one is by far the tightest fitting headset of them all. It really hurts after a certain amount of time. I finally had to turn up the sound all the way and put the headsets on the table. I have to knock off an egg for comfort. It's just bad. But, I had another headset with a similar problem. I got a bunch of books and just put the headset over them and over time it got stretched out. I think I can do the same thing for this headset. The comfort of these really is potentially a game stopping issue for these headsets. They really can hurt quite a bit and I I'm not exaggerating. I"m just going to grab the books and stretch them out and over time they are going to be fine.

Overall Review: If I could only buy one gaming headset this would be the one. But, only if I can get this thing stretched out. Otherwise, I probably would go with the Sennheiser 360 just because I think it's the best when it comes to clearity of communications. But, the sound is pretty bland on that.

super sound card

Creative Sound Blaster Zx 116dB PCIe Gaming Sound Card with 600 ohm Headphone Amp and Desktop Audio Control Module
Creative Sound Blaster Zx 116dB PCIe Gaming Sound Card with 600 ohm Headphone Amp and Desktop Audio Control Module

Pros: 1) I always pay to have someone install my hardware. With this card, even I was able to install in about 10 minutes very easily. 2) the card makes a noticeable difference. This card clearly beats my Maximus v extreme motherboard sound. 3) the software is far easier to use than what comes with windows. It's just awesome to use. 4) the extra unit which comes with the card is awesome. I love extra little gadgets.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: This card is pure win. I'm glad I didn't listen to those people who said only audiophiles would notice a difference between this card and on board sound. This is a must buy for all my computers now.

Super Gaming Headset

Razer Tiamat 7.1 Surround Sound Over Ear PC Gaming Headset
Razer Tiamat 7.1 Surround Sound Over Ear PC Gaming Headset

Pros: 1) For gaming this headset is superb. 2) I also use this headset with making phone calls. The headphone is a Closed acoustics headphone. So, you can't hear things going around you. If you're at a LAN party or in a really noisy location this is a plus. If you need to be able to hear things then this might not be the best. 3) If you know what you're doing, this headset is capable of producing some "quality sounds." Is this a $300 Product Image Sennheiser HD 600? NO. It's not going to get you the same quality sounds as that type of headphone only product. But, it's still good. 4) Mic quality is good enough so everyone can hear me when using Skype or when I'm using Ventrillo. No problems at all. There's an easy way to adjust the microphone. 5) The comfort level for me is 8/10. I would prefer those soft headphones that come with headphones like the Razer Megalodon 7.1. But, this headphone has better quality of sounds so far for me. 6) The headset just looks cool, is built well, and has some nice controls. Sure, if you bang the control around it will tend to turn on MUTE. But, just keep the controls on a table or something and it's fine.

Cons: I really don't understand why this headset is getting bad ratings. If you don't know how to use the headset and your computer to get the best quality of sounds, that's your problem not the headset's problem. Could you get a better quality of sound with something like Product Image Sennheiser HD 600? Yes. Just get that, a MIC, and a quality video card and it's going to be better. Or, you can make it simple and just buy this headset. If you have the cash, going the way of the HD 600 might be a better option. But, you get what you pay for.

Overall Review: I've read plenty of reviews on this headset and they are all very good. Some reviewer's say this headset is the best wired headset in this price range. I concur with those reviews. Before you slam the headset, put some time into learning how to make the most of the headset.

Runs Hot

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 21197-00-40G
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 21197-00-40G

Pros: Great Video card. Was a big upgrade for me. I was using a 9600.

Cons: My video card is running at 80-85 C when I'm playing WoW and going into a dungeon. The fan on the until won't go past 50 percent... which seems odd. I have a massive cooler master tower case. I have the 212 fan for the CPU and a fan until for the Dominator 2666 Ram. I have the Maximus V mother board. With all the fans I have going in the case, I'm having a hard time seeing why the video card is getting up to 85 C! I just ordered the ARCTIC COOLING ACCEL-X-7970 Fluid Dynamic Accelero Xtreme 7970 VGA Cooler for AMD Radeon. I hope that helps!

Overall Review: Great card but it runs very very hot.
