Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1000 1000W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply
Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1000 1000W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply

Pros: Amazing power delivery, Price combo when paired with a Antec case couldn't be passed up. Pleanty of cables to pick from to match your needs. It looks like all the initial problems and failures have been addressed with the revision update. Ensure you have the newest design power supply! I was a bit skeptical on the purchase because of the early horror stories, but if you dig through the reviews, all the problems are on the first revisions. Those with the newer revisions are having no failures. Power supply looks AMAZING, especially in a bottom mount case like a Antec 900 or 1200! Fan is supper quiet, I can't hear it at all and my case is on my desk 18 inches from my head. And my Antec 900 case runs quiet so it's not being "hidden" by case fans.

Cons: Wish they made the 2 Red PCI-E cables detachable, really can't complain as this Power Supply was obviously designed with duel and possibly Tri SLI in mind. I had no problem with cord length in my Antec 900 and I am a stickler for zip tieing up and making cords look nice. I even ran the power cords out of the way. The cord was the perfect length to hide it from 90% of the window, alow for good air flow and not have cable at the end to loop and tie. I can see how a really tall case like the 1200 or some other case with a bottom mount and higher mounted board could be a problem. However NewEgg sells a power cable extender which actually is wraped in the black stuff and looks pretty nice.

Very Mad!

XFX PVT98WYDBF GeForce 9800 GTX+ Black Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: Very high overclockability. Should easily hit 840+ on any card. Price was amazing, after rebate, normal discount and weekly special i got it for 169.99 with free shipping. New Egg gets 5 golden eggs, XFX gets 1 rotten egg.

Cons: ~~~WILL NOT SLI WITH MOST OTHER CARDS~~~ Don't believe me then read up on my thread and many others on EVGA's Community Forum. This card has hybrid power built into it but it's not the newer style card. That and driver issues is likely the problem!

Overall Review: I got jacked because I cut the UPC off the box before I tried SLI so now I'm stuck with it... Intel E8500 @ 4.275ghz EVGA 780i F.T.W. 8 gigs OCZ Reaper 1066 EVGA 9800 GTX+ SSC Antec 1000 watt Antec 900

Kingston 8GB microSDHC Mobility Multi Kit Model MBLY/8GB
Kingston 8GB microSDHC Mobility Multi Kit Model MBLY/8GB

Pros: All in one, USB Thumb Drive put it over the top. Lots of positive reviews. Kingston has a good name and reputation. Ordered Friday standard Shipping, Delivered Saturday. New Egg gets 6 stars on a seperate scale.

Cons: Maybe a little to expensive, but not many other choices. Lanyard on the USB drive leaves a bit to be desired.

Overall Review: 90% of the 1-4 star reviews comment on how cheep the USB Drive is. I got 2 of these for my Blackberry and my Dads expecting to just pitch the USB drive. I duno if Kingston made a revision or what, but bot of our USB drives are fairly sturdy and make a solid connection, unlike the negative reviews.

Amazing

OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2RPR10664GK

Pros: No need for a long review, this product speaks for itself. cheap, FAST, looks amazing, awesome customer support. Very sturdy, runs cool. I didnt try OC'ing above what the recomended timings and speed are.

Cons: I was curious on the speed differences, and for awhile ran these at up to 800mhz whille I was tweaking my Overclock (Stuck with the "Linked and synched" theory). Eventually ai gave in and just unlinked my buss' ran my OC'ed FSB and ran these at 1066 (roughly 1056). Performance tests didnt show much of a difference from the sub 800 to 1066 . I will say however that when i had the RAM underclocked I did not go more agressive with the timings, as I kept them at the recomended timings. I'm still not personally convinced that the RAM's raw speed is more viable then the Rams timings. I'm running 8 gigs on Viesta 64 Ultimate. THis is not a Con as I'm absolutly satisfied with the ram. The price I paid for 8 gigs of this stuff... How could you be dissatisfied?

Love it

EVGA 512-P3-N878-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ SSC Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
EVGA 512-P3-N878-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ SSC Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: Extremely fast! I wanted a fast card that can hold me over now until i can spring for a second card for Duel SLI. I originally was not going to do the SSC and just do the base 9800 GTX and just overclock it. At the time of my purchase the rebate made the SSC so close to the price of the base card I just went with the SSC. Card looks amazing, I'm glad they have gone to this modular look style and got away with the uggly board cards of years ago. Card runs about 50C at idle and kicks up to 60-62C in full gaming. This is with my overclock and fan still set to Auto. I don't understand the people complaining about the temps, yes relatively it's "hot" but I think the card is well designed and capable of handling the heat so as far as the card and its temps go i don't believe it to be "running to hot."

Cons: As stated did not come with the HDMI or SPDIF pass through cable, BUT a quick phone call the EVGA and they said to register the card, give them a call and they would get it out in the mail. I can see that the ease of this could very well depend on the customer service person you get. For what its worth though I slightly blame NewEgg for this issue as most packages do not come with the "HDMI" sticker on it, and thus should not be packaged with it. The base 9800 GTX can be overclocked pretty close to the stock clock of this card, so if your not looking to overclock this card but would consider overclocking, you may consider that route... But... I am currently at about a 14% overclock on my SSC right now and loving it. I havent tweaked it any further but I'm sure it can take it. Fan is NOT that loud! I really can not har it at all in my Antec 900 with Zalman Heat Sink and I have all my fans on low and throttled. My case is about 18 inches from my head on my desk

Overall Review: With WotLK now released I put this card to the absolute gamers test. Even with my overclocked processor, board and Video Card and extremely under speeded fans (i like a quiet case) I have put in quite a few 12+ hour geek sessions with zero problems. Get the new precission and don't be afraid to OC this puppy, just do some research and bump in small incraments. Good Choice

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0

Pros: Amazing cooling at very minimal sound volume. Pleanty of fan combinations to decide from, looks very nice inside and out. Those complaining the fans are loud need to take them off full speed, absolutly not needed.

Cons: minor gripes, nothing worth pulling a egg for. Would have been nice if they sprayed the inside black like on the 1200. Also would have been nice if the fans suplied came with the ability to plug to the board AND alow the board to read fan speed. Case is defenetly a "bit" more flimsey then the many previous Antec's I have worked with. Give us a blue glowing top fan like the 1200! I cant imagine it would cost more to remove production of this one and just produce the LED one for both cases! Heck at least offer it for sale!

Overall Review: Somethings I did and havent seen people talk about. I mounted my 1 DVD drive in the very bottom slot, I then mounted the 2 fans in the top 3 slots and the 3 slots above my DVD drive on the bottom. This provided a streight shot from the top fan onto my ram, then onto my Zalman then out the back fan or out the top fan. It also more lined up the bottom cage to blow the air over my HDD, then across the face of my 9800 GTX and finally onto the supply of my Antec 1000 Power supply (with the blow hole fan adding air into the mix. I keep my case on my desk, so having the DVD drive on the bottom is actually very convenient, I could see hoe someone having there case on the floor would not opt for this, but possibly a varient of it.
