Great card for the price

ASUS Radeon HD 3450 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card EAH3450/DI/256M
ASUS Radeon HD 3450 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card EAH3450/DI/256M

Pros: This card was a great upgrade from my onboard video. I am using it in my HTPC connected to my Onkyo SRX606 (which is also bought from Newegg). The built in HDMI is nice as well as it is fan less. It will run most new games a low to medium settings. I have played COD4 on medium and it does just fine. Did I mention its dirt cheap?

Cons: If you plan to use HDMI to pass your sound through your receiver you will have to download the latest driver from Asus as well as the Realtek HD drivers from their site. Also if your using an SRX606 receiver you'll have to connect to the DVD or HDMI 1 slot or you won't get Dolby 5.1. I've copied a post I found describing the steps to take for getting HDMI sound to work. See below.

Overall Review: Just a follow-up as another owner of the EAH3450. I did as you guys mention above remove any existing ATI drivers & Catalyst from Vista 32. I then installed the Asus support drivers version 8451 and got audio working. However, the audio was in fact only 2 channel PCM stereo. For those unfamiliar, you must go into Control Panel, Sound applet, and ensure that the HDMI audio device is selected (right-click) and set to default. Once you do this, you should hear audio. As for 5.1, this is possible. You simply need to go to the Realtek website (link below), click the checkbox to accept the driver: www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3 Click NEXT, the choose the download link for "ATI HDMI Audio Device" - currently rel 2.09. Once you do this, you will have glorious 5.1 surround sound support in Vista and other programs such as Arcsoft's Totalmedia (Blu-ray playback) using the SPDIF audio output selection. My setup is to an O

Avoid Lexmark at all cost

LEXMARK X4550 1410600 26 ppm Black Print Speed Up to 4800 x 1200 dpi Color Print Quality Wireless InkJet MFC / All-In-One Color Printer
LEXMARK X4550 1410600 26 ppm Black Print Speed Up to 4800 x 1200 dpi Color Print Quality Wireless InkJet MFC / All-In-One Color Printer

Pros: Cheap, wifi works great, pretty fast and print quality is good.

Cons: Cheaply made printer (like all Lexmarks, I've had several and they were all junk). I've had this for about 8 months and it loves to eat ink and paper. It recently ate a piece of paper but even after I cleared the jam it tells me it is still jammed. Why in the hell did lexmark think it would be a good idea to make you scan from the unit instead of from software on your machine. It won't let you scan more that one copy at a time and every time you do the device has to download a list of software to scan to from whichever computer you are scanning to. STUPID!!!

Overall Review: As with all Lexmarks they sucker you into buying their junk printers with really low prices then nail you with ridiculous cartridge replacement charges. And no you can't refill their cartridges and as I said before they have a heavy appetite for ink. Do yourself a favor and stick with HP.

memorex 8.5GB 8X DVD+R DL 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model 05732
memorex 8.5GB 8X DVD+R DL 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model 05732

Pros: Ok I had to respond to my initial bad review of this product. After changing from the Samsung drive I was using to an NEC drive I have had no problems at all. Apologies Memorex! Boo Samsung!

Cons: Would not work with my Samsung burner.

Overall Review: I use these to backup Xbox360 games and so far they have worked great if burned using an NEC drive. Apparently the NEC's have a stronger laser than the Samsungs which is very important if you want to get your Xbox to read the disc.

Typical Memorex junk!!!

memorex 8.5GB 8X DVD+R DL 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model 05732
memorex 8.5GB 8X DVD+R DL 50 Packs Spindle Disc Model 05732

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I don't know if I received a bad batch or what but I have not had one disc to complete properly. I have used several different apps such as Nero, DVD Decrypter, Ashampoo and IMGBurn. Also tried them at various burning speeds from 1x to 6x. No difference. I swore years ago that I would never waste my money on Memorex again but after reading all of the favorable reviews on this site I decided to take a chance. Doh! Bad move Homer! Don't waste your money unless you need more coasters around your house!

Absolute winner

ONKYO TX-SR606 7.1-Channel Black Home Theater Receiver
ONKYO TX-SR606 7.1-Channel Black Home Theater Receiver

Pros: Replaced my old RCA which worked great for years but needed HDMI so I gave this one a try and I must say that I truly didn't know what I was missing. I paired these with a set of Harmon/Kardon surrounds and all I can say is Wow! Very pleasantly surprised with the sound quality and it is very simple to set up as well. Buy the unit and you won't be disappointed.

Cons: It doesn't make coffee :)

Overall Review: Of coarse Newegg is the best! I've been buying from them for years and have never had a single problem with them.

G.Skill is the best

G.SKILL 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 (PC 2700) Laptop Memory Model F1-2700CL3S-1GBSA
G.SKILL 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 (PC 2700) Laptop Memory Model F1-2700CL3S-1GBSA

Pros: G.Skill is by far the best bang for your buck in regards to memory for Desktop or laptop. I have purchased several of their products and they are always reasonably priced, nicely packaged and very reliable.

Cons: Can't eat them!
