Don't review what you don't understand

Team F108 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (Golden) TG032GF108N3
Team F108 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (Golden) TG032GF108N3

Pros: * large capacity * USB 3.0 * external is metal

Cons: * too many bad reviewers

Overall Review: I have seen a couple people complain that the drive won't hold "large files". Now, given that this drive is 32Gb, it is probably formatted with fat32, because fat32 is a very 'universal' file system. Though, it has a drawback. Fat32 CAN NOT HOLD FILES GREATER THAN 4 GIGABYTES. That's right, most all of your torrented movies will NOT fit on a fat32 file system. If you wish to put single files greater than 4Gb on your drive, and are using windows, may I suggest the NTFS file system. My apologies to the Team Group for the uninformed reviews.

Semi-functional

Rosewill RX-358 U3C BLK External 3.5" Hard Drive Enclosure to USB 3.0/eSATA, Aluminum & Plastic, Built-in Cooling Fan and Fan Switch, Support 3.5" SATA III/II/I Hard Drive up to 8TB and UASP Function
Rosewill RX-358 U3C BLK External 3.5" Hard Drive Enclosure to USB 3.0/eSATA, Aluminum & Plastic, Built-in Cooling Fan and Fan Switch, Support 3.5" SATA III/II/I Hard Drive up to 8TB and UASP Function

Pros: Looks nice, fan is much quieter than an older Rosewill USB2 / eSATA enclosure that looks identical. Slightly cheaper than competition, if you squint.

Cons: I took my seagate 1.5 Tb drive out of the old Rosewill enclosure (which worked flawlessly) and into the new one. Now when I turn on the enclosure the drive doesn't spin-up for about 5 minutes (enclosure on, and plugged in). And when it does, I have to un/re-plug it to get windows 7 to recognize it.

Overall Review: I've tried putting the HDD back in the old enclosure and it works fine...I've tried plugging the new enclosure into several different computers, both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, same result. Unfortunately I don't have an additional hard drive to test :( Like an earlier reviewer, I might just stick to Rosewill networking products.

Regret purchase

SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Graphics Card 100419P6GL
SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Graphics Card 100419P6GL

Pros: -Great performance-per-dollar -Looks stylish

Cons: This is my third Sapphire video card, love their products! However... Installed in my old gaming PC (overclocked i7-920 seated in an ASUS P6T) and, for the first time in a decade, had system instability when trying to boot (black screen). The only way to boot successfully was to hit the reset button again and again. Additionally the FPS in games wasn't what I was expecting, but that was likely due to the age of the other components. I also encountered frequent freezing in Borderlands 3. If I reverted to my older sapphire card (Radeon HD 7870) the issues subsided. So, I built an entirely new PC around this graphics card in hopes that the issue was my older hardware being pushed too hard. Some specs: ASUS TUF X570 mobo, Ryzen 7 3700X, 32Gb RAM, etc. I'm STILL getting boot issues (boot loop, machine never displays POST/TUF logo) and occasional (though less frequent) in-game crashing. I've tried a fresh install of Win 10, updated the BIOS, updated the graphics card drivers several times as they came available, uninstalled catalyst control center > DDU > installed the graphics driver by itself....nothing seems to help.

Overall Review: I would not recommend this card due to the stability issues that have persisted in two different machines from two different eras. This card has been nothing but a pain, wish I would have never purhcased it. What makes matters worse is the current graphics card shortage makes purchasing a replacement (might finally try NVIDIA...) extremely difficult/costly.

Great Value

ASUS Laptop Intel Core i5-4200U 6GB Memory 750GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4400 15.6" Touch Screen Windows 8 64-Bit Q501LA-BBI5T03
ASUS Laptop Intel Core i5-4200U 6GB Memory 750GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4400 15.6" Touch Screen Windows 8 64-Bit Q501LA-BBI5T03

Pros: -This laptop is an excellent value! The one I got is 'refurbished', but could have likely been sold as new...its in mint condition! -The hard drive inside the device I got indicated that the drive had been powered on for a total of about 60 hours prior to me getting the machine. -The ASUS logo on the lid lights up when the keyboard is lit, which looks quite fancy. -The lid and palm rest / edges of the chassis are all brushed aluminum, which gives a very premium look and feel. -The keyboard took a little adjusting to, but now I really like it! It's got 'squishy' keys, but I'm typing on it now and they don't bother me, I actually find it more pleasant to type on than my Zenbook Prime, which was more than twice the price (new). -The overall build quality is what I would expect from ASUS, it's a very solid feeling, well built machine. -The display is gorgeous, and while I tend to not use the touch interface too often, there are moments when having it is really useful. -While this may not be the case for all units that are shipping out, mine came with a dual-band WiDi capable Intel wireless card. -The hinges are sufficiently stiff to allow for interaction with the touchscreen without the screen wiggling / moving. -This unit boots up somewhat quickly, though the limitations of the 5400 RPM hard drive really do show at times, I plan to replace it with an SSD in a few days. I would recommend putting it to sleep rather than shutting it down if you plan to keep the included hard drive.

Cons: -Glossy display...if they had to go glossy, a glass touchscreen would have been much more pleasant to work with. Though at this price, I can certainly forgive them. -I would have LOVED to have seen a non-underclocked / undervolted i5 in this machine. The processor does get strainted a little easily. something clocked at 2-2.5 Ghz with a >3.0 Ghz turbo would have been amazing. As it stands now, my processor goes into 'turbo' mode (above 1.6 Ghz) much too often when performing mundane tasks. -The speakers are a bit bland. They get sufficiently loud, but don't have a great frequency range. However, again, at this price, I'm happy!

Overall Review: If I were buying this laptop new, I would expect to pay around $800, mostly because of the premium build. The form factor, materials chosen, and amenities (backlit keyboard, logo) would make me proud to sit this laptop next to a several-thousand-dollar MacBook Pro...even though it's a fraction of the price!

HGST HDS721050CLA362 (0F10381) 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
HGST HDS721050CLA362 (0F10381) 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: * Pretty good performance * Reasonable price * Quiet * Brand-Name product

Cons: None so far (I only got it earlier today...). All SMART data / tests pass with flying colors; zero of those nasty reallocated sectors.

Overall Review: For those that are curious, I popped this into a USB 3.0 external enclosure, connected it to my desktop (via USB 3.0 port) and ran a speed test with CrystalDiskMark 3.0.2 x64. Results (in Mb/s), first value is read, second is write: Test 1: 2000 Mb, 3 passes: Sequential: 141, 133.5 512k: 49.1, 45.2 4k: 0.588, 1.089 4k QD32: 0.657, 1.102 Test 2: 4000 Mb, 3 passes: Sequential: 141.2, 133.2 512k: 47, 44.1 4k: 0.562, 1.026 4k QD32: 0.650, 1.007

Great Product!

COOLMAX HD-250BK-U3 Aluminum 2.5" Black SATA I/II USB 3.0 External Enclosure
COOLMAX HD-250BK-U3 Aluminum 2.5" Black SATA I/II USB 3.0 External Enclosure

Pros: -Metal 'shell' -USB 3.0 -No external power needed (even on USB 2.0)! -Drive seems secure when the enclosure is sealed -Worked with a 120Gb SSD & the 80Gb OEM hard drive from a PS3

Cons: -The caps on the end are plastic, would have loved metal, worry about cracking, but for the price I am satisfied!

Overall Review: -I got a max of 150 Mb/s read and 140 Mb/s write between the 3 machines equipped with USB 3.0 that I tested this with. When the SSD was in my tower on a SATA port it got the advertised >200 Mb/s read/write speeds. Not sure if this was a limitation of the USB 3.0 controller on my mobo(s), or the enclosure itself. Just keep that in mind if you expect the blazing speeds that the new USB standard advertises :)
