GIGABYTE GM-M6880 Metal Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Laser 1600 dpi Gaming Mouse
GIGABYTE GM-M6880 Metal Black 1 x Wheel USB Wired Laser 1600 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Works great, better than an expensive optical mouse, but expensive laser mice tend to be better. Given that mice last 1-3 years, cheap laser mice are the way to go.

Cons: Ergonomics are awkward. Whatever more expensive ergonomic design was copied, it isn't the greatest job but better than the alternative cheap laser mice available such as the Logitech LS1 (not as ergonomic) or V150 (mini-size). Logitech RX1000 remains my favorite cheap laser mouse $20 and under, though it has been discontinued for some time.

All 6 of them still working great

Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD6400BEVT 640GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD6400BEVT 640GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Working great. Video store in a camera bag. Not one has crashed yet.

Cons: One drive did show up DOA at time of initial order. The replacement drive worked fine and still works fine.

Good drive, great value!

Western Digital WD Green WD20EARS 2TB 5400 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: The value!

Cons: Windows XP & Windows Server 2003 users have to mind the advanced format (especially with RAID). The WD align utility is lame. Stay away from the compatibility jumper. Best to find a windows 7 computer to initially partition the drive with (don't need to open the case, just use an enclosure).

Overall Review: I'm not having the reliability problems other users are reporting. I bought my drives early 2010 when they were close to $200 though when QC may have been better. I am using the drives externally in Rosewill dual-bay enclosures in JBOD mode (no RAID) as manually-mirrored pairs. They are on only occasionally, used primarily for backup and archival storage.

Great Enclosure

BYTECC ME-747SATACOMBO/SL Aluminum 3.5" SATA II eSATA & USB2.0 Silver External Enclosure w/ Big Quiet Fan
BYTECC ME-747SATACOMBO/SL Aluminum 3.5" SATA II eSATA & USB2.0 Silver External Enclosure w/ Big Quiet Fan

Pros: Awesome fan! Good alluminum case. Fast on a SATA card. USB works good. Power supplies use a standard 3-prong plug cable between the outlet and the brick. Excluding the limited clearance and fragile fan power wire, it is easy to assemble.

Cons: It is easy to damage the small fragile power going to the fan line when sliding the assembled drive/circuit board into the enclosure. Do not force anything and don't let it fall by gravity because the first thing that will break is the fan's power cable.

GREAT Case

INOi HD260U-000 2.5" USB2.0 Aluminum HDD External Enclosure
INOi HD260U-000 2.5" USB2.0 Aluminum HDD External Enclosure

Pros: *The drive plugs into same side the circuit board as the power intake is. Power doesn't have to travel accross a high-risistance printed-circuit line for most of the length of the enclosure. Good for USB ports that have their 500ma limit strictly enforced. *Full size USB plug! Most 2.5" cases on the market are mini-USB now. USB-mini cables are not as over-plentiful and cost more than regular USB cables. Also USB-regular cables are often a larger gauge and have larger connection contacts, which means less resistance on bus-power, good for powering drives via bus-power on laptops that strictly enforce the 500ma-per-port limit. *The power intake and the bus power can provide power simulatneously as a team. Good for older drives that want 800ma+ of power on a strict 500ma port (or worse, using an unpowerd USB hub while using a helper cable on a strict 500ma port). *Good, thick high quality metal case for heat dissapation. *Most other cases only have 2 of the above feature

Cons: *The tabs on the back cover are a little flimsy. May need scotch tape like the other reviewer after several months. I bouth 8 cases and assembled 4 so far. None of the back-covers are currently loose. *The power port on this enclosure uses a different connector than what most other 2.5" enclosures use. But I think it is still a standard connector (it may be same size that some 3.5" enclosures use).

Works great. Wants only 600ma too.

Pros: This drive will work most of the time even on laptops (Dell Inspiron 8200) that enforce their 500ma limit strictly! Good value on price also.

Cons: None
